We had a great time there! Service was fantastic, and the food was even better. We tried the chili cheese kulcha, Dahi ke kabob, sea bass, daal, and the saffron cheesecake. We also got a couple of cocktails!

Service felt rushed. Food was ok, enjoyed the crispy texture and sauce. However could have spent more time to focus on the flavor and spice profile of the food. Did not taste very authentic but maybe that’s the point.

Parking and finding the restaurant was a little hectic on a busy summer evening but they have valet service (cash only) The food was so good, we ate everything and left nothing. The drinks are pretty fancy and there's a flavor profile for each drink which is handy for someone like me that is particular about alcohol

Do not go in thinking it's a typical Indian food. Some dishes look Indian but taste different and some taste Indian but look different. Just go in with an open mind and enjoy the experience. Also a nice bar menu with a nice twist with Indian flavors.

The drinks, service, and atmosphere were fantastic, the food was good not great! For the money you pay, you'd expect better taste. The chili cheese kulcha and paneer pasand was tasty but the dal makhani and baigan were just fine. All the drinks are fantastic though, I definitely recommend the pink city cocktail.

ROOH is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in Chicago. There is not a single dish that my wife and I didn’t like. We are vegetarians, and had a sweet potato chaat, an incredible ROOH dal, and a paneer pasanda. It was just as good the next day for leftovers!

Rooh is a gorgeous inviting space with festive cocktails and mocktails plus plenty of vegan/ vegetarian options on the menu. I love any place that makes it easy and calls out with total transparency which items are vegan so you don't have to ask. It's a progressive indian restaurant and everything we ate was yummy. So many options plus lots of meat for those so inclined. We started with cocktails - old fashioned and a cucumber Mocktail. Lots of restaurants are stepping up their mocktail game and it's nice to see that Rooh is on board. We then had avocado and chickpea Bhel with apple and potatoes. Such a new combination for us but it all works together and tastes super fresh. The sweet potato chat was crispy and delicious. We enjoyed the cauliflower tandoori. The sauce was so complex I found myself dipping the roti to get more.

Literally one of the best restaurants I have been too. Every single dish was packed with flavor. The service was incredible! We tried their Chili cheese kulcha, pork belly, grilled prawns, kerala chicken, butter chicken and lamb. The dishes that were smothered in any sauce were all amazing I wanted to lick the bowl, but I kept my composure. If you are visiting or live in Chicago this is a restaurant you need to stop at.

Wonderful Indian restaurant with a unique mix of tastes. From the cocktails to the shared plates… all delicious. “Best Indian food we ever had,” said my adult children with me.. and my grandkids found it delicious too. Michelin chef!

Had the “Road to Kerala” which was divine. The “Green Pea Kulcha” with the chili peanut chutney was fabulous. But the “Lamb Keema Hyderabadi” which is a delicious layered spicy and savory lamb, with mint and onions topped with whipped potatoes was out of this world. Definitely going back.

The best way to describe the food at Rooh is “traditional Indian with a twist”. I tasted the flavors I’m very familiar, but with a more-than-slight addition of an indescribable different flavor. It deserves two Michelin stars in my opinion. If you like Indian food in general, you really have to go here to experience “progressive Indian food”. The Road to Kerala, Malabar old fashioned, Queen of Spice were all solid but I would most recommend the Queen of Spice cocktail.

Was in Chicago for the weekend and ventured out to check the Indian culinary scene, close to downtown. Was not wowed but definitely satisfied by Rooh and its select offerings of Indian fusion food. We enjoyed the warm ambience and ordered Butter Chicken, Paneer and Grilled Prawns - all were nice except maybe the Butter Chicken which lacked the verve of a typical North Indian delicacy. Being from GTA (Greater Toronto Area, Canada), I am used to great Indian and Punjabi fare in abundance, available there. Rooh did not meet the standard from a value proposition perspective, though was worth a visit.

When we initially went the food was not very good. However, we were contacted by the owner who was very helpful and we went again and it was MUCH better than last time. We got butter chicken and garlic naan (we also got it last time) and it was a great improvement from last time. The chicken was cooked very well and the naan was also soft. We also got the Kerala chicken and it was also good. Although, I would get it with chutney next time. The saffron cheesecake was also very good. The customer service was really good both times.

Nice ambiance ! Good food good vibe. Nice place . For us service was late but they compensated for it. So i would say 5 star. Lol. You should checkout if you are in the area. Would definitely love the drinks . Dahi kabab is just best.

Some of the best Indian food I had. Also the service was very accommodating. The Lamb shank and saffron rice was so good! The waiter cleared our tables between waiting for food. Highly recommended if looking for a fancy meal in the heart of the city

We went for dinner and the service was not the best. We got the avocado & chickpea Bhel, only to find out it didn’t have avocado in it. The waiter, assured us it’s in there without checking. Paneer pasanda and Rooh dal were okay at best. If I were to go back I would only get chili Chee Kulcha and cool cucumber.

Awesome experience all around. Food exceeded our expectations and the drinks were elite. Server was very knowledgeable about the menu items. We had lamb shank, paneer, butter chicken, and sea bass. All excellent and worth trying. Appetizers were pork loin, avocado and chickpea, prawns, and something with sweet potato. Drinks - road to kerala (mine with the star anise, with mezcal), pink city (perfect amount of spicy, one with the cucumber), and don't remember the other two but they were delicious.

What a lovely time we had at Rooh! The inviting atmosphere and elegant decor promised an upscale experience. Our expectations were surpassed by the charming staff and stellar cuisine. Each selection, from the starters, entrees and desserts down to the coffee, was a delight to consume. Our thanks and congratulations to the kitchen, management and front of the house - well done! We’ll be back! Favorite (among scrumptious hard-to-pick-one delicacies): the wonderful Butter Chicken-! And don’t miss the specialty cocktails…
