Company no longer exists, merged with 'Perfect Home Services'. Company website contains no information related to this merger. I tried to setup appointment with Reeder, but Perfect Home Services setup appointment. Felt very duplicitous.

I used them to install a new HVAC system in my apartment last year and there were very easy to work with, on time, and fairly priced. They provided a detailed quote and multiple options for me to choose from. Recently there were some issues with water leaking in the utility closet which was suspected to be a plumbing issue but they still sent a service rep out to investigate the issue and try to remedy the issue. They showed me exactly what was wrong, were extremely helpful, and tried to resolve it with the tools they had even though it was not something involving the HVAC system. Our entire building uses them and everyone is happy with their service. Michelle was very helpful in the office and Derek was friendly and on time for the service call.

Nice, friendly, efficient service technician. In fact everyone I spoke to was kind, patient, and receptive to my needs. I feel very comfortable having them do work in my home.

My water heater went out with the gas control unit not lighting up at all. I called the water heater company and luckily it was still under warranty. The water heater company gave me a few suggestions for repair companies and one was Reeder. I gave Reeder a call and they told me it would be $90 to come diagnose the problem and $100 an hour to fix the problem. Okay sure, I looked up the gas control unit and it was about $250 so whatever, I got stuff to do, at worst I'll break even right? The repair man Mike shows up at 1:45, tests the power to the gas control unit and claims it's getting power, calls the water heater company at 1:50, small talks, makes a joke about watching Youtube to replace a part, finally gets off the phone at 2:12. Tells me it's actually the pressure valve that needs to be replaced and he will come back Monday or Tuesday (it was Friday) and it would take no more than 15 minutes to replace the pressure valve. I get billed for the 30 minutes + the diagnosis fee. Come next Tuesday I call Reeder and they claim the part didn't come in yet and they were trying to track the part down. Wednesday passes and nothing. Thursday comes and I call Reeder and was told that Mike called me and told me to order the part myself, a call that I never got. What was he doing on the phone for 30 minutes? I call the water heater company and tell them the situation and they tell me repair companies usually orders and installs the part. Whatever, it has been almost a week and my tenant still has no hot water. I overnight the part and took Mike's joke about the Youtube tutorials seriously and find out it should just be a few screw, if he can do it in 15 I can do it in 30. The part comes and of course it's not just a pressure valve but a whole blower assembly because they don't make just the pressure valve anymore. This would require disassembling the vent pipes. Of course the blower assembly has been seized onto the top of the tank. Whatever, I take apart the blower as

Reeder recently replaced a 23 yr old HVAC unit in our row home. All I have to say is - top notch. We did our homework and had 2 other private company quotes as well as Home Depot (for comparison); Reeder was right in line with all of them on price (if not a bit less) with unmatched customer service from Gene, the owner. Professional, honest, picks up your calls, follows-up, you name it. We had to special order our AC unit to go in a unique space and Gene was attentive, clearly offering out options -- when the other companies were much less detailed about it. Our HVAC is installed now after a days worth of service (with 3 guys here, and on top). Don't bother with others -- just make your lives easier and go with them.

I highly recommend using Reeder for any heating and air issues. I always use them and they never disappoint. They replaced a motor in my furnace on short notice. They showed up on time, explained everything, and did an awesome job. Also, they were very well priced compared to others.. They are really friendly and easy to work with!

After waiting weeks to get service done on my unit AND DOING A FOLLOW-UP CALL to make sure I was still getting service. They didn't show or call. After waiting 4 hours after scheduled appointment I decided to reach out and was told" we called you and left a message " I have no missed calls or messages. Don't waste your time.

The service was horrible. They took $200 FOR A SALES CALL. WHEN THE PART CAME IN they couldn't find time to come. The woman who takes the calls called my wife a liar when she told her that she was told they would install the part the next day. Do yourself a favor go with someone who will appreciate your business.

We had to have our furnace replaced last week and Reeder was recommended to us to at least get a quote. From quote to complete installation, the customer service was solid and the service providers were professional, timely and did a great job with installation.

These guys are great! I work with quite a few real estate agents and I always ask them for recommendations for house related services. Gene and Reeder Heating came highly recommended. I got several quotes from other recommended companies and while everyone had basically the same answers for me, Gene's professionalism, attention to detail, and quite competitive pricing had me choosing them to replace my 30yr old furnace and AC condenser unit. I purposely chose to wait until their busiest season was done so that their service and attention was on my job. I get it. Super high or cold temps or right at the beginning of the hot/cold seasons mean the HVAC guys are super busy. I wasn't in a hurry, so I was patient. The Reeder crew showed up as scheduled and installed everything within the day. Every time I went to check on them, the techs were courteous and professional. They were happy to explain where they were in the process and what they were working on next. Before they left, I got a great rundown of everything done and proper maintenance steps going forward. They left their work area clean and tidy as though they were never there. Solid professional, courteous crew and service. Well done! I look forward to their next visit for the yearly maintenance call.

Terrible experience, unfortunately. Our AC went out and they gave us a time frame of 10-2pm on a Friday. By 2pm nobody had arrived and nobody had called to provide an update. I called around 2:30 asking when they were coming, and was told I was next and it wouldn't be long. Called a few times again through the afternoon and kept getting the same story. The guy finally comes by around 6pm while we were in the middle of dinner with guests (of course!). The tech spent only 15 minutes looking at it before determining the problem was a ruined circuit board that had to be replaced for $350 plus their hourly rate. Reading other reviews it seems that they are very eager to replace circuit boards when that isn't what's broken. Must be a high markup item! Anyway, he couldn't explain WHY the circuit board was blown in the first place, and I should have pressed him harder on this but they are supposed to be the experts and again, by this time I had out-of-town guests to attend to, since Reeder was a full 4 hours behind their original schedule. He also seemed in a hurry to get out of there. Anyway, he didn't have the replacement circuit board on hand (which is understandable), so he came back the following week and replaced the board. What was supposed to be a 15-minute job turned into an hour and a half because he was convinced the thermostat was wired incorrectly (it was not, and he left it exactly the same in the end). This means I've spent $700 at this point. But hopefully everything is fixed right? Wrong. Less than 24 hours later, the AC blitzed out again. They were able to schedule another technician the following morning, to their credit, but I still had to take another day off of work to get things working. This technician said the problem was actually a short in the 24-volt wire running to the condenser. He applied a short-term fix. He did NOT have to replace the circuit board again, which indicates this was never the problem, and so now I've effectively paid $700

I wish that I could give this company less than one star. I scheduled a cleaning for the furnace in a condo where I have a tenant. I was given a time frame of 1-5. At 2:40 I called to ask if they could give me a better idea of the time that I should expect them to arrive as I was waiting at a Panera near the condo (which is about 30 min from my house by the way) until they came. I was told that the technician would be there closer to 5 and that he would call me a half hour before arrival. Around 4:55 I called again and had to leave a message because the business that closes at 5PM apparently stops answering the phone before that. At 5:20 I called to leave another message. I left the area around 6:15. The next day I called to complain and very nicely explained what happened to the manager Michelle. She had a very bad attitude. She told me that they were working someplace else that did not have heat and very impolitely told me that she was sorry. I expressed that it was inconsiderate of my time for them to not even call to let me know that they would be late or to return my multiple phone calls. After hearing phrases from her like "well I said I am sorry what else do you want me to say," "this is why we don't like to do cleanings this late" and "there's nothing I can do about that now" she asked if I wanted to reschedule. I told her that I would certainly be taking my business elsewhere. NEVER again. They are rude and inconsiderate and I will not spend my money where my business is not valued. They claim to be a referral based company so I urge against using them for your heating needs.

We have worked with this company several times. They really do stand by their work. We had a furnace installed by them and, even though it was out of the warrantee period, they came out to fix a problem. David & Tim were a pleasure to work with in my home. The owner, Gene, genuinely wants the work done right. We also have had them out to install a water heater and humidifier. We were pleased with their work, customer service, and professionalism.

If I could give no stars I would. I had a technician come out to trouble shoot my AC. The technician came out for the diagnosis and said the circuit board was bad and needed to be replaced. He said someone from the office would get back to me on pricing and to schedule the service if I wanted to move forward. He was in and out in a half hour. This was in may. I never heard back from anyone until I received an invoice in the mail in July for $130 for the service trip plus service, when no actual service was performed. In the mean time, I was able to troubleshoot the problem over the phone with Nest (the circuit board was not the problem). When I contacted reeder heating regarding the bill, the lady in the office was rude and short, telling me I had to speak with someone else about this. I spoke to another gentleman and we agreed that I pay for the service call and not the service charge, since there was no service performed and I was told the wrong diagnosis. Shortly after, Carolyn the lady in charge of collections began hounding me for my credit card number for the $130. I told her I spoke with someone else and we agreed on $89. She became very rude and persisted I give her my credit card number. I did not feel comfortable with that, so I told her I would mail in a check. She said she would give me 7 days before she sends the bill to collections. Very dissatisfied with the whole experience and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Updated! : From a One Star to a Five Star Experience! Originally the first time Reeder Heating and Cooling came i did not have a great experience because my furnace was working on and off at odd times, and when the technician came out the furnace was working and he could not spot anything wrong with furnace so i ended up paying only to have my furnace break down that same night again and because of that i ended up writing a one star review because i wasn't happy that nothing was fixed. The next day i called back and spoke with the supervisor David and explained what had happened. He was very polite and assured me he would have someone out that same day. Later that day another technician, Brian, came out to take a look. Brian was very polite and carefully examined the furnace and was able to figure out what was wrong. He explained everything along the way and made great small talk. In no time my furnace was working again. The boss Gene was extremely nice about everything and provided this follow up work for free, which was very generous. All in all this company has impressed me so much that i plan on using them for all future repairs and installations. If you are reading this review i highly recommend giving them a call and you won't be disappointed. Reeder Heating and Cooling is one of the best small companies i have seen in a long time. Thanks!

I was very pleased with the work and customer service of Reeder Heating and Cooling located in Chicago ,Illinois on the install of my new A/C back in May and furnace in December. From the technician Brian visiting the house, to the phone support and follow up. You really cannot beat their all-around business model. The supervisor David with his courtesy and professionalism who coordinated and made sure to install the equipment in a timely fashion, Michelle from their office who gave me an appointment that did not interfere with my work schedule. Tom and Sam installed the furnace and A/C and they made sure that I was satisfied and felt confident about the outcome. Tom was very knowledgeable and answers my questions. These guys are the best. I highly recommend Reeder Heating and Cooling.
