Reuben & his team were great! I had a non-emergency issue with my HVAC and he scheduled a tech to come out within 2 days. They were punctual, helpful, thorough & resolved the problem! I felt the pricing was very reasonable for a job well done, and I will use Polar Vortex Heating & Cooling again in the future!
I highly recommend this company. Ruben was straight forward, honest, and informative. I had someone from Four Seasons inspect my AC unit a week ago. That technician said there was nothing wrong but I should spend $800 on airduct cleaning. Turns out my AC failed yesterday. I was referred to Ruben by another owner in my building. Ruben and his team member came to my place within an hour of speaking on the phone. He identified that the compressor was the issue and they fixed it within 30-minutes.
I called during one of the coldest days of the winter after Four Seasons Heating & Cooling botched a repair, overcharged, and left my elderly parents without heat during subzero temperature. Ruben from Polar Vortex came over at 11pm, fixed the issue in 2 minutes and even refunded the fee after having him come back to install new units. He was polite, professional, and above all, honest. If you are looking for a reliable technician or just trying to get away from Four Seasons, like me, I can't recommend Polar Vortex enough. I see why so many people on Reddit recommended them. Their service was outstanding!
I'm a new owner of an old two flat and really didn't know much about the preexisting heating system. Of course, issues started happening on one of the coldest days of the year. On a whim, I saw that Ruben was located near us and gave him a call. To my surprise, he picked up. On one of the coldest and busiest days he still had time to take my call and guide me through his process. When he came on site, he was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He rectified my boiler situation quickly and did so at a great price. I'll be using him for all my HVAC needs in the future.
My heat went out on a cold, winter, Sunday evening. Ruben came within a couple of hours of my call (which interrupted his evening out), figured out what the problem was, and McGyvered another motor so I could have heat for the evening. He was responsive, punctual, up front and honest, and communicated to me what repair costs would look like all along the way. He was considerate too and wore footies over his shoes to keep my carpet dry! Highly recommend him if you're in need of HVAC services.
My electrician, Oscar, recommended Ruben (Polar Vortex) as an HVAC person. We had a situation over the holidays where my furnace suddenly stopped working. I reached out for a consultation and he was very responsive. He provided a quote and we scheduled the work. He came on time, and within a few hours, an entirely new furnace was installed and my house was heated again. I am very grateful, as I have senior parents who are in the house during the day and a broken furnace meant very chilly winter conditions inside the house! Will be calling him for future needs!
These guys came in and added a new boiler zone, radiators and a thermostat to our finished attic and Ruben and team did great work. They were all friendly, easy to communicate with and they got the job done. I've worked with a lot of contractors over the years and it's really, really difficult to find anyone you're willing to even write a positive review for let alone a 5 star review.

I contracted Polar Vortex for a new AC install. During the quote, Ruben explained in detail the problem at hand, the remedy, and tips to keep the new unit to last long. I recently contacted Polar Vortex to install a whole home humidifier to our furnace. They were responsive and professional. Ruben and his crew came for the initial quote and installation and identified additional issues that they could fix. During the installation, they sealed up pipes and other components that had been poorly installed by contractors (ho renovated our home a couple years ago) - free of charge. The system has worked well and we feel more confident about our system after Polar Vortex's work!
Ruben is responsive, friendly, trustworthy and professional. He took the time to go over our quote (which we were comparing to 3 others) to explain all the details of the furnace and ac compressor we were receiving, never rushing the process. He took his time to install everything properly, and then to show us the work that went into the installation and answer questions about how everything works. He also gave a very honest answer to questions about how to best maintain the life of our equipment. I highly recommend Polar Vortex and will be utilizing them for annual maintenance!
Polar Vortex installed a new HVAC for our condo. Very smooth experience from beginning to end. Ruben handled everything competently and was very responsive to all the questions we've had. Ruben and team re-located our return vents and cleaned our furnace. They were very responsive (always picked up his phone, which is a rare bonus in the trades) professional, quick and from what I can tell, did a first class job on the install. I also liked the way he communicated the options and didn’t just make assumptions. We also ran into an issue with the furnace and Ruben was quick to repair and take ownership of the issue. I would highly recommend them.

Ruben is the type of person who's in it for professional satisfaction. He has an internal drive to what his work is stamped with. That's admirable. He didn't give up or quit or refer me to an electrician when identifying, and especially pinpointing the location of the short for the AC unit to run. He knows his stuff and has a pride to his work that no money can substitute. Trustworthy.Honorable.Humble.
