Stay away!!! 0 star not just a 1 star!!! The worst service that I’ve received from a company. I’ve found them on google and contacted them due to their good reviews. Don’t be fooled. There’s no following through on a job. They just want to take your money to come out and you’ll never hear from them again. Found another company with prompt service and get the job done right away!
Reached out to Chicago Heating and Cooling back in July of 2021 looking to replace the blower in my two pipe vertical fan coil system. I received a one sentence e-mail from Matthew in return saying it wasn't possible to replace a blower motor with something bigger/better. I have no experience with these types of systems so I responded and asked if there was anything that could be done to improve the system and I received no reply. I reached out to a few other HVAC companies in the area and got much more professional and helpful responses. One company came out and quoted replacing the entire vertical fan coil system. Another came out and quoted gutting the existing cabinet and retrofitting a new system. Both companies made several suggestions as to how to improve the efficiency of the system outside of just replacing the vertical fan coil unit. What CH&C said was impossible turned out to be very possible. We had our 30+ year system replaced with something new, more efficient, and 300CFM more powerful. If you're in a high-rise and looking for HVAC contractors, I'd look elsewhere. Edit: I see the owner has responded to my review to show how helpful and professional they are. I've attached the only info I ever received from them, phone, email or otherwise. 🤷♂️
I asked a question to get a quate and they gave me an insincere answer. They sent me a message, just "No" without any explanation for my question. I won't use like this rude company.
We had to get our central heating and cooling separated for our two units - this requires installing new ductwork and getting a new furnace and roof top ac unit. We got another contractor to come out and give us a quote. Marcus was able to give us a quote that was half the price of the other. This was because Marcus was very detailed when walking through our house to look at our current HVAC system - he took notes, pictures, and planned out the project. because of this he was able to find ways to still use parts of our existing system rather than rip it all out. Matt and Marcus were very transparent and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied customers. The installation went smooth and they were able to complete the project quickly. I will definitely be using them again!
I asked for a breakdown of the quote for the work they were going to do on a washing machine. The owner avoided the question and when pressed, got all bent out of shape and gave a Ted talk explaining why he was right and I’m wrong in requesting a little transparency. Won’t use them again and laugh at the Ted talk email.
These guys are amazing: responsive, on time, reliable and professional! Marcus and Matthew: MERCI ;-)
AC was inoperable at my business. Had to call and schedule an appointment several times, on several different days, before somebody actually came out. After telling me the problem was because my filter was clogged, he promptly gave me an oversized bill and left. The NEXT DAY, the AC went out. After calling a competent professional, it turns out my AC head unit was failed. Would not recommend this company.
They literally did nothing. Did not fix the problem just told me it was fine. They did however try to convince me to get a full cleaning of my vents in my brand new construction house that had already had one. No thank you.
Unreasonable priced. Less than 30minuts and a pressure switch replacement charged $290, and I was told that is after a deduction of $130! The cost of a pressure switch is under $20, I would not mind to pay a rate of $100/hour (30mi = 1hour), however, $290 is too expensive for such a job. I should have called more professionals and comparing their prices.
I use Chicago Heating and Cooling to get my home ready for winter and have for years. The service has always been spot on and the gentlemen are wonderful and knowledgeable! Always there when I need them!!
These guys are great. I have had terrible HVAC service in the past with others, but Matt was direct and helpful and looked at how to save me money on completely replacing two HVAC units and doing some repair to existing equipment. I recommend them highly.
I called Matt about my furnace not blowing out on a Monday. MATT was able to send out a technician that same day . The technician name Marcus was great he was answering all my questions . I truly appreciate Matt and his team as they come through for again. Thank you
My Northland refrigerator was very noisy and not defrosting. Chicago Heating responded quickly, obtained the necessary parts and fixed my refrigerator quickly professionally and neatly. The value of service was exceptional .
Marcus came out diagnosed the problem and repaired it right away. Very easy to speak with and very professional. would definitely recommend Chicago Heating & Cooling
My technician, Marcus, was incredible! He repaired by 20+ year old Oven door professionally and in a short amount of time. Marcus was able to come to my house in the same day and resolved the issue when at least 2 other Appliance Repair technician's could not figure out how to fix. Well done, and I will highly recommend to anyone and certainly use again in the future. - Nate
Have used them for years, always terrific service. Cannot recommend highly enough.
I’m on day 3 of them charging me double the normal cost and it still not being done right. And they don’t even answer the phone. I really don’t know if this is even a real business.
Very quick service, was able to determine the problem and fixed it ASAP.
The service was very informative and solved a problem through intelligence and skill. Really saved me money and provided peace of mind. Glad to call them again.
CH&C fit is in the day we called. The HVAC specialist (Marcus) was on time, super kind, and did great work. He communicated exactly what the issue was, what he was doing, how much, and how long it would take to fix.
