This used to be reputable and could be counted on. Its a useless entity now. Better to complain to the states Attorney General.

Worse Business Bureau would be more appropriate name for them, they help already bad businesses to become even worse. Most people think they are a government associated agency, but they are not. This is private organization. Every accredited business has to pay a fee to be on their list, so most likely they will be on business side ,not yours. Don't waste your time for filling complains with them, it's a joke process. Don't be deceived, ratings of the businesses on their website have nothing to do with how the company is conducting the business. I experienced that first hand. You will be much better off writing google review, especially with pictures. In November 2022 I filled complaint ID # 18468910 against Bloomingdale HVAC heating and cooling company form Roselle, Illinois for breaching the contract for labor warranty. While the case was still open, on their website I have rejected any response of the owner of the company (clearly lying and blaming me for his mistakes) and after few months, without even contacting me or notifying, my case was closed, because: " BBB has determined that the business has addressed your complaint accordingly". To every email received from me they kept sanding me back some source of stupid computer generated ready replies or surveys asking: how did they do. What a joke. No wonder their reviews here are not impressive.

I highly recommend AMERICAS Bath Co. We had 2 bathrooms re-done by them…excellent work. Responsive, efficient, and on time. Jason and Nick were meticulous in their work. Both are a 5 star rating. They replaced both bathrooms with attention to detail, informing me what was happening , prompt, and even cleaned spaces in immaculate fashion.

I wanted to check out the complaints against a company I was considering buying plan ahead cremation services(pre-paid). Well I appreciated being able to see the types of complaints against this company I found something else on the part of the better Business bureau all together disturbing. They allowed the business to draft a response saying that they had addressed the issue and the customer was now satisfied. It is deeply disturbing that the business and not the complainant gets to state that an issue was resolved. This is like the fox guarding the hen house and it's despicable on the part of the BBB. I think it's way past due for an independent agency to review the BBB practices once again the same way they did in 2011.

I highly recommend you visit the BBB website and file formal complaints against any business that treats you like you don’t matter. The BBB will sort it out for you, whether it leads to compensation or simply keeping a record. Do your part to make your community better by giving credit where credit is due, and correction where correction is due. Please do try to sort it out with the business owner first, in a calm, reasonable way. (Try to avoid management bc it’s likely their fault in first place and they don’t need to know you’re upset—go straight to the boss quietly). Don’t be a “Karen”—be a Jaren. A Jaren is a Jacqueline-Karen, a person who sees bad things happening, keeps her cool, and reasonably and calmly reports the issue to the powers that be without creating a scene and ruining the day of everyone around her. And by the way, everyone I know who is truly named Karen is a total sweetheart. Don’t be a “Karen.” Be a Jaren.

Paramount+ is scamming people. Taking their money past deactivation dates. Then refusing to respond. I am by far not the only individual who experienced this neglect. I messaged them on Instagram, which apparently that’s how we conduct business these days, is through extremely childish social media platforms. Eventually, Paramount stopped replying. BBB was able to get me a refund. I am still upset though. I didn’t even have service and they charged me for a year. They essentially stole my money. And then we’re legally able to just “unsteal” it. Had Paramount had a retail location, and I went in and stole $55 worth of merchandise, I would have been jailed and charged with theft. Since they’re a major corporation, apparently stealing my money isn’t against the law and Paramount will not suffer any consequences for withholding my money and not supplying service. It’s bull****

Paid off by companies to keep bad reviews off the internet. Provided the BBB with my contract from home purchase with builder since the builder lied to them and said I never purchased a home from them. And they still won’t post my unfavorable review of the business. Just another corrupt company!

Responsive, helpful. A pillar of Justice in a world of corporate greed, the BBB should always be an institution, doing a better job than most government agencies doing the same thing since forever.

Hard to get a hold of people who work here even though you filed a complaint. Called 10 times to the person who was supposed to handle my complaint, and left 3 voicemails and this person never gave a call back or responded to the email I sent. They company that I filed a complaint for didn’t offer a solution but better business baraue isnt very good at keeping up with customer satisfaction.

I highly recommend complaining to BBB if a company refuses to honor its promises. After many rounds of complaining to Hammacher Schlemmer customer service trying to get them to make good on their lifetime guarantee of a product I loved until it ceased to work, I gave up and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I submitted copies of ALL my emails exchanged with the company. Within a couple days I had an apology from the company and a promise of a gift certificate refund. Since I'd had a similar "promise" earlier, I was skeptical and said so. The company gave me a date by which I should receive the gift certificate (not super quick), but the certificate did arrive within the window, and I promptly reordered the item that I had loved. I applied the gift certificate and paid only the shipping. I assume the item will arrive as promised. My only issue with BBB (reason for 4 stars instead of 5) was that they expected a favorable review as soon as the business PROMISED the refund, and my experience with the business's prior promises led me to decline to do that.

I think the Better Business Bureau has more insight on businesses it's safe to check Better Business Bureau on the businesses that you wish to check to see if they are really who they say they are and if they're a business that you would wouldn't mind buying from especially if you are consumer you can't trust every Source but the Better Business Bureau in your state is probably the best resource for checking out businesses

Overall the BBB provides a much needed service. However, In my experience and opinion, the way the BBB posts reviews (by date) allows for them to manipulate the timing and placement of bad reviews, thereby protecting companies instead of consumers. I wrote my 1 star review of a company nearly 3 weeks ago. However, they waited to post my review until there were several other, more positive reviews. The day they posted my review it was beneath a few others. It was never at the top. And they notify companies when they get reviews, so the company had time to pressure its other clients to leave it good reviews. Further, the BBB redacted so many words out of my review that it didn't actually do much good. Now that I've seen that one unethical company has a good BBB rating, I'm very skeptical to trust the BBB ratings for anything. The BBB is paid by businesses and in my opinion that influences who they benefit.

Larissa is rude and unpleasant and unprofessional she tried give me a lecture about the better businnessnand referenced it as I work for the better business Bureau she is into her lself I spoke with Denise and she transferred the call to Julia she did not want to help either why are you paying them to work from home ? It just makes them more lazier especially when people are calling in from other states and they're selective and partial in helping them. What kind of non profit Organization is this they all need ro be trained their phone etiquette is horrible and how van you not make them get up and go to the office for at least two times a week? Horrible service I give them 000000- Zero status for horrible service and for not knowing how to talk to people, as well as for their " Nasty attitude " especially Larissa she needs to shut up and listen and be removed in firing her she is non a people person. RuDE is all that she Is to agree with someone over the phone to try and inflict her own person opinion on a person and Julia the so called supervisor agreed they need to put on their listening 👂 ears and keep then on. Never calling this place again. Thank you for nothing!
