Great Service. My AC went down and called them out. They were able to get me in for a same-day appointment. Office staff were really sweet! Was able to repair the system all in the same visit. Absolutely excellent service and knowledgeable technician. He didn't mind my questions and was able to explain what broke and how the AC works to me. Super easy overall

Quality of service was excellent and the value. I've used Rutan over the last 5 or so years. They are upfront in their estimates. They may not appear to be the least expensive, but by the time you add in different add-ons other companies add, they are cheaper than many companies. Even more important, they are reliable. Many HVAC companies don't answer or take their time scheduling services. I’ve used them many times. They repaired a condenser coil, installed a new system, cleaned the air handlers, etc.

Terrible company I got a 250$ service done back in 2020 I had issues with what they said they corrected and on top of it they are now saying I never paid them back in 2020, 3 years later, SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Be prepared to be set back a few months with them. Job could not be completed the first time around because technician pre checks were not conducted prior to the repair appointment to ensure everything was needed to complete the job. In turn this will set you back an even longer wait because the remaining parts have to go through the ordering process again!

Save your money and do business with a different company. I have never NEVER left I negative review for anyone but Rutans absolutely deserve this. Their customer service is non existent. I wish I had a chance in choosing my own AC repair company but unfortunately got stuck with them. Please save yourself an headache and go with a different AC company.

They are a rare find!! This is likely a common scenario: some system in your home or car goes down; you have no clue what the problem might be or how much it should cost to be repaired; you find numerous companies/repair people in your search but have no clue which would actually treat you right instead of trying to make as much money off of you as possible, taking advantage of your weakness in not knowing. We had a split AC unit that wasn't running. Spoke with the company who installed the unit, who quickly suggested small leaks. Through insurance, a different company was sent out on service call, also said units probably had leaks, wanted to run an $800 leak test, which insurance denied. Luckily, we were linked up with Rutan next. Turns out, it was only a switch that somehow had been turned off - maybe something I should have known to check, but certainly something the second guys should have easily identified. Through the process, I had the opportunity to speak with Susan (the manager) twice, who earned my trust by spending time on the phone explaining in detail and educating me about different leak testing and the pros/cons. For me, that experience was exceptional. For any future AC installations or work that I need on Oahu, I will be calling Rutan.

I've had service done on multiple air conditioning units over the years and unfortunately a few years back, my go-to vendor no longer handles residential service, as a result, my last few annual AC services I've tried several vendors to find the great service I'd come to expect from my previous vendor. Unfortunately, of the 3 I've done in the last 3 years, Rutan is easily the worst experience I've ever had with not just an AC maintenance company, but any home services company. Without the excruciating details here's why: 1. Pre-scheduled, appointment missed, no call 2. On the rescheduled time, asked for a call from tech as there were other workers on site, no call. 3. After multiple follow-ups and phone discussions, I was told by the office worker that the technician was 'having trouble and taking longer because the workers were moving his stuff' (??) 4. The initial technician after completing what I thought was a normal maintenance (although I had to ask him to ensure that there was an anti-fungal/mold tablet placed in the drip pan, after which he had to climb back up in the attic and do that - although, points for being honest?! At least I hope he put it in there) 5. That same technician after completing my 2nd unit (they are side-by-side) informed me that the 2nd unit 'needs further diagnosis' (it doesn't) and he couldn't get the AC to blow cold. I have a Nest Thermostat and it clearly wasn't on. At this point I'm beginning to question the gentlemans knowledge and certifications. 6. Finally on the way out, I asked him how the filters looked, to which he responded 'oh we don't change the filters', I literally had to pick my jaw up from the floor. This is one of the main reasons I have the AC's serviced each year. So I don't have to climb in the attic myself to do it. 7. I called the office AGAIN and they said, oh that's an extra charge. An extra $25 charge for an 8 dollar filter from Home Depot. 8. Another tech came to replace the filters later in the a

I have been using this company since they replaced our central air unit 3 years ago. Our home owners warranty set everything up with this specific company. A few days after a technician came to conduct my annual service I received a call from Susan the general manager. We discussed the work that the technician had conducted on our central air unit and Susan felt comfortable with scheduling a follow up appointment just to make sure everything is running properly. After speaking with Susan I agreed to the appointment. Here is my honest feedback. I haven't experienced a business owner who cares so much about customers service/experience To. To have the general manager personally follow up with me throughout the years of service is a blessing. I decided today that I will continue to use her company for my annual cleaning and maintenance and whatever else happens along the way. Susan, I pray that God will send more people to you. Both dependable and honest workers and customers to large in numbers. May He bless you with abundance in His name.
