The technician who came and serviced my AC and heating unit was quite knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything he was doing and what it meant in great detail. My system is 22 years old and is in need of replacement and the technician also assisted me in getting a quote appointment set-up. Cool Ray will be submitting a quote and I will be seeking a few more quotes (because that's simply the smart thing to do). Who knows, I may actually end up securing Cool Ray to do the job and it was good that their technician was so professional in how he handled the initial service call.

RIPOFF COMPANY - Coolray came to my house to diagnose a central AC not working. The technician told me it was the control panel and would cost $1800 to replace. Also, the part was back ordered, he didn't know when it would be available and he could have someone come out to quote me for a new furnace...Very Convenient! I went online, found the factory part for $550 and had it delivered to my house within 36 hours. Imagine that, a multi-million dollar company who does this every day of the week didn't have the part but I could get it online within a day and a half. I then watched a youtube video (I have no HVAC experience) and installed the part in 20 minutes. Turns out after I installed the part, the Coolray tech diagnosed the problem wrong and the control panel was functioning just fine. It was actually the blower motor. I called the company back to have them explain to me how something which was done in 20 minutes could cost $1,250 in labor? The gentleman on the phone attempted to talk in circles and could not give me an answer. I expressed to him had I been an elderly customer they would have gladly exploited me out of the $1,800. This is some swindling on a whole new level - steer clear!

told me my capacitor was a specialty item no longer made but they can modify one for it. WELLL it can be bought on Amazon for 50.00 and the other company I am having fix all this said 35.00 for them... He charged me %500 over price. Wanted 104.76 per lb for freon. and somehow a leak that wasn't there before showed up in plain sight where i know it wasn't before the capacitor went out. My face had been right there when i was cleaning the coils and the leak is on the back side of intake pipe coming up in front of it and spraying backwards. which saw as soon as the other company did a fill test, i had declined coolray to fill at those prices and just from having a hinky feeling about him. my place is going up for sale and all of sudden a system that was blowing cold when the capacitor went out had was EMPTY that i could just do a gas and go and let the new owners deal with leak because it would be way to expensive for him to find the leak. YEEAAAA IF i was dishonest and did that that HUGE blowing out leak would been found and then i would have been charged to fix that at i am sure another %500 mark up and charged another charge or freon. Other company is charging half the price to fix leak and fill...

I found cool ray through the Home Depot stand . I had them come out to give me estimates on my AC units Sue to them failing “ they are the Lennox units with all the coil issues “ I got my estimates and ironic one of my units failed . Coolray Rep Mike came out gave me estimate and had unit installed tue next day !!! The technician grouo Alex and John were amazing they had the unit installed in 4 hours … maybe would have Been sooner but the air handler was damaged and the tech went to warehouse to get a new one !!! Overall 5 star service and pricing

Very VERY annoying that their service people are trained to Primarily Upsell during regular maintenance visits. Can a business JUST perform a regular maintenance without the Constant Upsell BS?!?! I've been a regular customer for years but the Obvious Upsell push is making me consider other vendors.

Shawn is an excellent technician and knows his way around various brands of HVAC systems. He was able to quickly troubleshoot the problem and able to keep the old system (18 years old) limping along until they were able to come out the next day and install a new HVAC system. The system was a little more expensive than I liked, but I went with the top of the line system to provide the best efficiency for my home. He was up front in telling me not to expect any of the new systems available to last as long as my old system did. When the installation group pulled out the coil the next day, we confirmed Shawn's diagnosis was correct and that the system was probably past due for replacement. Shawn did not try to oversell any product and gave a concise summary of each available product for me to make a decision to choose from. He told me what to expect from the new system and so far has been 100% correct again. I would not have any problems with Shawn coming out to my house for maintenance in the future.

Home Depot tune-up $29 special with Coolray air conditioning Company in Montgomery, AL was negative. Coolray technician Ryan Smith did not follow up as promised. The $29 tune-up times 2 ($58) turned into $374.00 for other charges. A receipt for work performance and a follow-up to replace filters that were not on the truck did not take place after several attempts to the store and to talk with a manager.
