A complete waste of time. Called for service since my air handler duct work has separated from the unit. Danielle set up an appointment for the following day in the afternoon. I told her the air handler is in the attic and she said it would not be an issue. I waited around and at 4:50 Danielle called and said they would not be coming out since it would be too hot. She asked me to go up in the attic to take photos and send them to her. I did and after I tracked her back down the following day she quoted 1600-2000 to redo the box. What a joke! Don’t waste your time on this company.
I came home last night to no air conditioning. I called and asked for service today. Herbert came out, in time. Showed him previous work I had done earlier this year. It turns out I was scammed for $1600 and about to pat $1200 more. I did not need the work I had done. Herbert got the air running and will come again with better thermostat and to do other repairs. Kron and West were great. Very professional with decades of experience. Glad I finally got an honest company to help. Very highly recommended.
First time customer here. Brad came to perform an inspection and routine maintenance on my home AC system. He was very knowledgeable and thorough. He inspected and cleaned the AC unit in the attic, and the heat pump unit in the yard. He provided helpful suggestions on air filters, and keeping yard debris out of the heat pump. He also secured my sagging thermostat firmly into the wall.
Brian, Mitch, Justin, Joe & other employees of Kron & West did an outstanding job of replacing our HVAC systems. It was a tough project requiring complete removal & replacement of 2 compromised systems from a 30 year old ranch style home. We basically lived with Mitch & Justin for 3 1/2 weeks & they were always respectful, accommodating & very hard workmen. My wife & I love the finished product! If there were more than 5 stars available Kron & West would get them!
kron and west tech's came to repair my malfunctioning heating system the same day I called for service. The tech diagnosed the problem but did not have the part on his truck. The next day a different tech came to finish the work. The techs were knowledgeable and explained what was going on. I had questions and Marina Kron (the owner) called to resolve my issue to my satisfaction. I would use their services again and highly recommend them.
I actually did not call this company. One of their repairman was at my neighbors house fixing their unit when he heard something was wrong with mine. The repairman knocked on my door to tell me what he heard. I was REALLY skeptical. I didn't know I had a problem. I took a leap of faith and called the company to schedule an appt. That afternoon, another repairman came over and showed me the problem. It was a simple fix that may have costed me thousands had it not been fixed. I'm glad I put trust in the company. Odd way to come about it, but I'm grateful and thankful. I'll be using them in the future.
I used Kron & West for installation of 3 brand new Carrier Infinity A/C systems in 2018/2019 as the prior owner of my home used them at time of construction for A/C installation. Initially, I found them professional, however, I subsequently learned that their money is made off repairs and, I strongly believe, in my situation and in my opinion, at least, they perhaps intentionally did a faulty installation and faulty repairs to come back and charge for repair work (which was required on a regular, multi-period basis annually). Brian Kron, the son of the owner, admitted, their money is made off repairs when no repair warranty is purchased as opposed to installation. He stated that if a repair warranty is purchased at time of installation, they lose money on repairs due to the repair reimbursement. I had 3-4 issues per year, spending in excess of $1500/year on repairs on brand new (2+ year old units) that were supposedly the best: Carrier Infinity. Brian informed me, at my last repair, that he believes Carrier is a poorly built brand and would never put it in. his own home (and used Lennox) - yet they sold them to me and do so consistently, as I understand it! Brian is smug and unprofessional and the company, albeit pleasant when you deal with them, is poor at installation and repair, even if not running a "repair racket".
Ive hired Kron & west on multiple occasions now. They were very quick and responsive in scheduling the service and excellent at communicating any updates. Techs were very knowledgeable and professional in both executing their work and answering all of my questions. Highly recommend.
They did show up..but only to try to schedule a sale appt. Wanted $632 for leak detection. Kept repeating unit was out if warranty. Unit is 6 years old. JV systems detected leak in 15 minutes and did entire repair $800. It was obvious..see attached photo of dryer. Shame on Kron.
I am new to Florida and have found my HVAC partner: Kron & West. I've needed them 3x in the past 18 months and each time they have been responsive and professional. They arrive within the time window offered. The staff is kind, genuine and empathic. They do their best to service families without bankrupting them! Shout out to Brandon who did my service today and answered all of my questions patiently and in language I could understand. Highly recommend.
Professional, friendly repairman.$95 trip fee. When he found the problem, .had to go outside to “figure a price” and came back with $350 to clean water clog in drain..20 minute job that will be $350! I called the company..she could not quote me a price…had to talk with repairman. Was it because of a holiday weekend? No parts needed…I don’t mind paying for great work but 3 houses and never, ever, ever paid more than $200 for service! When did a tradesman get $750 per hour! Very disappointed at the service billing practices of this company.
Kron & West replaced our old air conditioning system. It is easy to be good when everything goes flawlessly. Things happen. At times you see the real shine on a company when you face some sort of adversity. Without going into a bunch of boring detail, let me say without hesitation that you can depend on this company. They showed deep concern and REALLY came through. They are available 24-7. They are the consummate professionals. When you are shopping for a high ticket item, you want to spend your money wisely. Feel comfortable and confident with Kron & West. I gave them 5 stars because I can't give them 10. 9-1-22 Came out and fixed an issue. This company is beyond reputable! Don't call anyone else! In this day and age where customer service is scarce, Kron & West is an absolute STANDOUT! Again.....5 stars because I can't give them 10! I HIGHLY recommend that you purchase their maintenance plan.
Thank you so much for coming out yesterday evening to fix my AC. Not sure of the person's name, but he was amazing. Cleaned out my whole system and reconfigured some piping. Whoever it was, I appreciate your thorough service.
Highly recommend this company! I have been a customer for over 10 years, great service, reasonable prices and great technicians that take time to help you understand the issue and what they did to solve it. Love these guys! PS, big thanks Brad for coming out Sunday night for my A/C emergency!
This seems like a good company that won't do you wrong. My AC went out yesterday, and around 4:30 I decided I couldn't handle it myself, so I called Kron. They sent out a team, and my AC was back to blowing cold an hour and a half after I made the call. What more can you ask for? I'll call them again if I ever have any trouble.
Ok, this is a small wet blanket on all of the 5-star reviews. My beef is with the cost considering the work performed. Here’s my story. My A/C stopped working and my thermostat was blank. I knew this meant power to the unit was interrupted. So I checked the usual circuit breaker and float switch (drain line clogged), but everything was normal. Kron had serviced my unit in the past with good results so I called for repair. About 2 hours later the technician arrived. He immediately checked the thermostat and float switch and was unable to determine why there was no power, so after about 10 min on-site he told me he needed to do a low voltage search which would cost $201 on top of the $89 initial service call. I gave the ok. After another 15 min he asked me if there was another breaker panel besides the one in my garage, and I said no….then while we were both standing next to the air handler we both noticed a wall switch labeled “A/C Furnace On/Off”….he flipped the switch on and the unit turned back on. Good news! Simple fix, no parts needed. Then I was asked if I wanted to sign up for an annual maintenance plan, which I declined. The tech then proceeded to check my outside unit (compressor/fan/coils) which I didn’t ask for and he reported that the Freon level was good but the run capacitor was “weak” and should be replaced…he could do it today for….I recall the quote to be over $200….I think he said $220, but (again) if I signed up for a maintenance plan I could save 20%. Again I declined, knowing that a capacitor runs about $20 and I could replace it myself. With nothing left to do the tech returned to his van and after another 10 min returned to let me know my bill was $417 because he added a charge of $127 for looking at my breaker panel. Wow…$417 for a service that required no materials or parts and only 30 min of time to discover a simple wall switch was turned off. That seems a steep price to me. BE AWARE: SURPRISED DIAGNOSTIC FEE UNRELATED TO REPAIR. Kron air conditioning has had a quality reputation and I'm surprised at how my experience went. My air handler stopped functioning and I called the company first thing on a Friday morning. Devin scheduled it for later that afternoon which seemed wonderful. Luis the technician showed up and quickly diagnosed the glitch; a failed fan motor/module and it had to be replaced. He didn't have the motor on the truck and said it was $89 for the service and $118 to diagnose the problem. And $1200 for the motor & labor to be installed another day! NO ONE EVER INFORMED ME THAT I MIGHT GET A DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT A FIX AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY ADDITIONALLY FOR THE DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT REPAIR! My experience is that when a diagnosis does not immediately lead to service, the cost for the diagnosis can be discounted with the final repair. Luis told me that this not the case: with Kron service calls, the SERVICE is SEPARATE from the repair?!?!? I was NOT satisfied with the situation, but there was no other option for me.; Luis explained that it wasn't his 'fault,' but that is how the company does their service visits. I generously tipped Luis for his time and he said I would hear from the company on Monday re: setting up the appt for the new motor! Monday came and no call. Tuesday I had Gulfcoast AC visit, and fortuitously they had the motor on the truck and the repair was $800. Even Gabriel, from Gulfcoast said that reputable companies don't routinely charge a separate diagnostic fee for a repair call. A week would pass from Luis' visit before I heard back from Kron; Friday and the following Monday Devin called as they were now ready to set up an appt for the motor replacement. I let Devin know that I already had it repaired and I was considering writing an unfavorable review. Devin said I would hear from (Brian?) later that day to discuss my dissatisfaction--I never heard back. SO: BE AWARE. Kron seems to think it is a
My husband has been working here for 32 years. Take pride in their work with your a/c new or old. Owners are really involved in the business. Great partnership for 32 years.
I have never experienced a company that worked so hard to solve an A/C problem. The staff is totally wonderful. The technician who solved the problem and fixed the A/C was Herbert H. He was quick, smart, and without him, the cost would have been much higher. He gave us some great tips and solved our problem. YAY!!
Kron & West we’re excellent to work with. Bob Shiminske was knowledgeable and very detailed on his explanation of their products. He also was vey helpful on scheduling the installation. The installation crew, Steve and Hunter, we’re on time, polite and cleaned up everything before leaving. Love our new system! Would HIGHLY recommend Kron & West!
