I had James the duct cleaner come out today. He was set between 9am-12am. I received a call around 9:15 from their office asking if James come and he’ll be 30-45 minutes away. James and his partner Chris showed up just before 10am. They did a wonderful duct cleaning leaving my house smelling great. My Dyson fan told me after they left, that my air quality improved 50%. I was absolutely shocked but really impressed to leave a good review about my experience.
I had a morning appointment with Service for AC duct cleaning. After taking time of work and waiting for 5 hours. No one showed. No call or text. Today I a call from Servie Star rep explaining that their tech never got the dispatch information? Instead of offering any sort of discount for all the time wasted they wanted to reschedule for that day. I can't speak to their work, but leaving me high and dry was distasteful to say the least
I have not used this business but received something in the mail from them stating it was time for my annual work. I just bought my home and I looked into it and found that they are not the usual company to service the AC. I still looked up reviews. I looked at the good first but when I switched to the 1 star reviews and saw how the owner responded to negative comments, I will absolutely not use this company. Turning the blame around even saying you will not service someone because of a 1 star reveiw instead of asking for a call to discuss the issues or offering a solution is not how you treat anybody. Especially a customer. Edit: Not sure where you saw these reviews I left because there isn't any such thing for an employer. This place is like family to me. Why would I bash my own store? 🤔 I think the owner of this company is confused and a prime example of an awful person who lashes out when they get less than ideal results.
Our AC failed after a serious storm, also the day before we were leaving for the summer. I contacted Service Star and Donnie the next day, got a price which was very competitive considering the emergency nature of the repair. They came on Saturday, replaced the complete system, did a great job. Having been an employer in the construction industry for 35 years, I appreciate how hard it is to provide good service to the general public. This company was able to provide this type of service. Thank you for the immediate response when others were not willing to step up when we needed them.
Called Donnie after hours on a Friday night, was there within 15 minutes. Trouble shooted my problem, fixed the issue immediately, had all the equipment with him. Didn't have to wait until Monday to get my AC fixed and back up and running! Great family business, will work with again!
We called on a Friday evening, they walked us through troubleshooting, and after that did not work Donnie came promptly. He was very professional and was able to fix the problem that evening. Thank you!
Called before coming. Got call when 10 minutes out. Problem was identified within moments. It was appreciated that I tried to trouble shoot and vacuum lines while also installing filter. Problem was clogged lines as I didn't vacuum them enough and that an internal light bulb for killing germs went bad. Chris Moore was very professional, and thorough in helping me get my A/C back. He was also very patient in educating me further on how to take care of my HVAC. - We also greatly appreciated the quick response as a family member in the home has a rare disorder and the heat was tough for her to handle. Very impressed!
i received a letter in the mail about doing a a/c tune up service for $60 so i made the appointment because thats a good price. the tech came and looked at my system for 10 min and said it was old (which i knew) and gave me a quote for a new system. there is no problem w/ my a/c system and i have since called another company to do a comprehensive tune up service
I had Service Star run routine maintenance based on a brochure that came in the mail. System was working great up to that point. Technician told me coolant pressure was low, but couldn't add more, even as a temporary fix until I could get a new unit, because it "might make the leak worse" . He showed me the pressure reading after the fact, but I didn't see it earlier while the testing was in progress. Gave me an estimate on a new Rheem system that supposedly included a $2200 credit for a "system buyback" from Goodman. Five days later the AC failed. Coincidence? Maybe. Got a proposal from another well-established local company for a better Carrier unit that didn't include any "buyback", but the price was lower.
I called Service Star at 9::00 in the evening that I had a problem . The technician called me right back and was at my house the next morning at 9:00 am. Christopher was professional, personal and explained and showed me everything that needed to be done! I am now a repeating customer for Christopher! Thank you Christopher for your professional service and honestly!
Our air conditioner randomly stopped working and we could not figure out why. The technician came out the same day as our initial call, was able to find the needed part the next day and was back to fix it all within 48 hours. Seriously 10/10 recommend.
Louis is the most honest service person I have ever met since moved to Melbourne FL. He came for tune up and check and I was scared about the bill, he found my unit was fine and don’t even charged me the visit. He explained me everything in detail. Not like every other single contractor who always “find something that is wrong and needs to me replaced” I will definetly call them again for my AC needs.
I had a leak in my attic in 2018 that was not related to plumbing. Searched for an HVAC company on Home Advisor and Service Star was first to call. Was told the leak was related to my condenser coils and I should replace my 15 year old unit because replacing coil will not fix the problem. I had unit replaced and a week later I had the same leak. Called them up and come to find out I had a leak in a section of air duct. I hired them to replace the ductwork and now 4 years later I have the same leak at the exact same spot. Called another company recently to repair the leak and was told Service Star only replaced parts of the ductwork and used some sort of tape to attach the air duct to the plenum! I am now having to replace my ductwork again! I did not have to spend thousands on a new ac when there was nothing wrong with it and now have to pay thousands to replace ductwork that they did not properly replace. Beware of this company!
Just had our AC serviced. Francisco from the Orange/Lake County area was amazing! He was super kind and shared a lot of really helpful info throughout the entire process. Will definitely be calling Service Star again!
Absolute scam. Terrible customer service. Try again and again to get us to pay thousands for work we don't need, saying "I've worked in this field for a long time and I know what I'm doing." I would call and they say "someone will call you back within the hour." That happened three times, waiting three hours without A/C in Florida. Someone finally calls me back to say they're closed... I regret using this company, their business model is clearly to sell you cheap up front, then scam you after.
Louis is my maintenance tech he’s very professional and informed us on issues we are having. We have to replace unit and I knew it was old and needed replacement. The company offers financing which is great I recommend this company.
Louis was very courteous and prompt about getting parts (compressor,coil) for my a/c system.Austin the tech was very courteous and knowledgeable at installation of said parts. Highly recommend Service Star. Thank you Louis and Austin for your promptness and courtesy. Myron Moore
My A/C broke on the hottest day! I called and they had someone out the same day. They were able to diagnose my problem and get me a new system same day! Incredible service! Thank you guys so much!
Service Tech Chris did a great job checking our system - just moved in to this house and we were impressed with the thorough check and servicing. Will be using this service annually.
Chris was the technician who serviced our unit. He was efficient, kind and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain to us what he was doing (being we are transplanted New Yorkers) and what we needed to do to best maintain our unit. He answered our myriad of questions, and even changed our filter. Best of all he fixed our issue quickly. I hope you realize what a gem of an employee you have in Chris.
