Our AC system was in need of repair and we were thrilled to be able to get an appointment within a matter of days. Our technician Jerrold was right on time, very knowledgeable and thorough. As newer home owners we had little to no knowledge of the efficiency and history of the system installed by the previous owner, he listened to all our concerns and double checked everything until the main problem was located. We were very pleased with his willingness to go the extra mile and repair other parts during our service that would eventually become a problem. We will definitely recommend Payne and continue to use them for routine maintenance and any future repairs!

Since moving to Lakeland to our new home requiring 2 AC units Payne has serviced each of our A C units since moving here with the last maintenance completed today by Raymond. As the visit before Raymond was thorough, knowledgeable provided professional and exceptional work. From the operators, dispatchers to the technician, everyone was kind, professional and had a steady communication with status and ETA. 05/09/2023- We needed an after hours repair to the A/C. Gregory Wilson was professional, gave us all the information of how to proceed with the repair. What an angel!!! He fixed everything and checked everything for us. I am not understating what a great job he did. I have some health issues, he had no problem accommodating them. My sister was the go between, but if he had needed to come into the living room he had no issue wearing a mask. It would have been very difficult, not just uncomfortable to do without the A/C. We are all very grateful for the excellent customer service. Thank-you for having the 24/7 service available and for sending us such a great repairman. -Angelia S. Having a hard time getting them to come back to doing the work they recommend. Frustrating at best.

Derek showed up on a Saturday after calling in with AC issues the same day. He was honest, polite and went over possible fee's and charges. After his diagnosis he explained everything he found and was very thorough with the while system. After agreeing to charges my system was back up and running in 20 minutes. I couldn't have been more pleased. A email receipt was issued complete with pictures and detail of the charges.
Had to get a few vent caps that someone threw away from the job site went in and Dustin helped me out got me what I needed only took a few minutes they've been around Lakeland forever I've been working here since the mid 80s and I think if you need anything done for your air conditioner system this is the company to go to
I was referred to this company by a coworker; however, it didn't get past the initial phone call because (like others have pointed out) they wanted to charge an $80 diagnostic fee just to come out and provide me an estimate on new ducts, a new drainpipe, and new blower motor for the air handler. I had already paid another company $80 to come out and they told me I needed the previously mentioned fixes (I've used this other company in the past for smaller jobs, so I trust them). How do you expect to win a job with a competing bid if you're going to charge for the estimate? Seems like a silly business practice to me. I seriously doubt the gas to come out here costs $80, and I'm sure the tech would only be here for about 10 minutes tops to take note of how large the project is.
Greg was very cordial, explained what he was doing, why he was doing it, and how it worked. Explained everything to us.
Would highly recommend them for install or maintenance. honest ,trustworthy and always on time

Went to Payne for a drain pan, a condenser pad and clips. He had the items but told me $300 is too much and that I should try RE Michel first. Saved me $154.79! Thanks dude!
Always polite and arrives on time. Accurately diagnosed our A/C issues and replaced parts. Even let us know that a part was still covered under warranty, which saved us a considerable amount.
Disappointing that they charge a $79 diagnostic fee for something as simple as looking to see if there is a tear in a duct. Instead I called another company that came out and looked at no cost, the other company was even able to come same day. Update: I want to address the business’s response. I don’t expect anyone to work for free. The other company probably does have it baked into the repair prices, just like Payne probably has the cost of free estimates on new unit installs baked into the cost of a new unit. The other guy was here all of 20 minutes to assess the problem and fix it, glad I didn’t pay Payne a rate of $237 an hour to do the same thing.
Called Payne air conditioning around 5pm on a weekday thinking we wouldn’t be seen until at least the next day. John Mock showed up a couple hours later that same day and diagnosed the issue. He was very friendly and professional. Even though we weren’t able to fully fix the issue, John was able to bypass the unit and make it run properly until it can fully be serviced in the coming days. I am glad we have cold air at the moment and thank you John!
