Move to the area in the beginning of this year. I was a contractor up north but was unable to buy components as I am not licensed in florida for A/C work. Grimes came recommended from a friend. Their pricing was very good and I was happy every step of the way. They replaced the condenser the same day they quoted the work. Even if I nit picked I would have nothing bad to say!! Their tech was extremely professional and polite!! There was no trace of any work being done, all screws and hardware was picked up, no garbage was left behind. Tim

Austin was the BEST! He came on time, called before he came, and went above and beyond just a yearly service. We had some air leakage around the unit due to the previous installer and Austin straightened out the problem quickly and efficiently. My wife was so appreciative of Austin’s attention to detail and that he helped her understand the system better. Great job! We highly recommend Grimes Heating and Air. They are long time residents of the area and offer quality service at reasonable prices. All the service people communicate well and they follow up as needed. This is not a fly by night AC service. I was charged for a diagnostic visit and was charged $129. Parts were ordered and I was told that it would cost $325 for the repair which I agreed to. A different technician was sent. The technician said that I now needed a new motor for an additional $550 the a new fan blades for another $198. He said he had located the part but had to call his boss to see if he would let him go get it. The boss said no and that they would have to come back three days later. At that point I cancelled everything and told the technician to leave. Some background to the story...I live in front of the ocean and my unit had rustled a bit due to the salt water. A part had rusted that caused the cooling fan on the outside unit to go out of alignment. The motor and fan were fine and working. I also have experience fixing A/C systems when I was younger. Unfortunately, today many of the A/C companies pay their technicians commission up selling their customers. I believe that that is what happened in my case, although I don't know with certainty. Either way the first technician should have diagnosed the total problem and ordered all the necessary parts instead of someone else coming in to then determine the true extent of the issue. Then you would expect that they would apply the diagnosic visit fee towards the repair. They did no such thing. I felt like I was being nickel and dimed to take advantage that I had been going without A/C for almost 2 weeks.
I’ve used Grimes several times now and they have been awesome. They come when scheduled and the techs are always very knowledgeable and courteous. He identified and Fixed the problem quickly and they are very reasonably priced. They will always be my go to A/C company. Thank you.

Arrived within 2 hours on a Saturday. Diagnosed the problem as a coolant leak in the air handler. The part was ordered and we were up and running in 3 days.
