Jordan was top notch. He greeted me right off the bat and even with a scheduling mistake was super friendly. Got right to work. Took a lot of time explaining the machine and telling me about some options for venting. Jordan was a super representative for your company.
This guy uses unlicensed electricians and charges licensed electricians rate to his customers. Also, it's illegal to have an unlicensed electrician working alone. Gentec is being reported to California Attorney Generals office to be investigated.
Exceptional professionalism from start to finish. They did exactly what was promised on time and with high quality to pass inspection of the city!
I was linked with them by Qmerit for the level-2 electric car charge point installation. They took more than 2 month after accepting my application. more than a month to submit to city for approval. 15 days to get the parts. while is available all over the place. they are doing this as a space project. Just to install a level -2 charger.
Charged too much just for reset power only.($570.24) very low worth !
I need to get my whole house generator serviced. Unfortunately, they don’t service my generator. That didn’t stop the customer service rep from trying to help me find someone. She googled a few companies for me to give them a call. That is a rarity today. If you’re in the market for a whole house generator, give them a call, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
The quote we received was fair market pricing, but the total amount was beyond our allocated budget for the projects. We are going to decline moving forward with the work at this time. Thank you so much for a exceleent experience, Steve
Kitchen lights were off. Told me they would charge $125 for visit and then a flat rate quote for diagnosing. Technician came and quoted $570. They determined one circuit has short circuit. Suggested open dry wall which I declined. They could do more investigation but need to charge me $425 more. So much for so called flat fee. I declined the extra charge and asked them to complete the investigation for the flat fee quote. They did spend a few more hours but still couldn’t find the problem. They left. I then called another local electric service company. They charge $125 to diagnose and then minimum $295 to fix. They came by couple hours later. Identified the simple problem right away, fixed it on the spot, and charged me $125 + $50 for the whole thing. After they left we found some other kitchen lights were not working. They came back second day, did a simple adjustment to fix it, for free. GENTEC sent me an invoice for $570. I told them I couldn’t pay the flat fee for an investigation which wasn’t complete. They argued the investigation was to examine the circuit and they did find the circuit that had the problem, and insisted that I should pay for the invoice. I told them that the lights were fixed by another company with minimum effort. Their response was that the short circuit may come and go, and the other company probably just got lucky. They still want to charge me for the $125 visit. I paid them for that. Luckily I didn’t agree for them to open the dry wall or spend $425 more to investigate. I will not use this company any more.
I had a button doorbell installed. Did a great job, was professional and responsive. Just seemed to be a very high price for 15 mins of work.
Their billing rates have gone up signficantly over the past two years. I have used them three different times and each time their billing rate increased by double digits. Quality of installation is pretty good but their fixed lump sum approach and signficant cost per device that goes into their price build-up is now cost prohibitive from me using them again.
GenTech has the worst customer service, no direct contact to service people, always through dispatcher with messages that never get returned. They wasted hours of my time waiting for an appointment that was not honored as promised.
Excellent customer service and the technician that came out did a great job.
The electrician was very professional and very nice. He fixed our kitchen light and we were really grateful.
excellent professional and quality work. would use them again for future issues. highly recommend.
They charge you over 100 to do an estimate then say they need to charge 700 to see what is wrong before being able to charge you an unknown Called Electric Company and they did a free estimate and free trouble shoot and next day full quote all broken down nicely.
Experiencing power surge problems. I thought it originated from my house interior circuitry, after an examination the knowledgeable electrical technician, he deduced it was from the power company’s lines. I called PG&E during his presence and he explained the problem to a staff employee. PG&E had a field technician out here in 1.5 hours to fix the problem (that I’ve been experiencing for two years).
Relabeled fuse box so anyone can find bathroom gfi. Very competent, neat, and polite.
They were able to find the issue and made it safe it a safe situation that could have gone really wrong. They were dedicated knowledgeable
Used Gentec twice. 1) All of the counter outlets were inop in the kitchen. Gentec carefully checked all the outlets; voltage wss low. Checked breaker box. Had to figure out which switch handled those outlets, and found the switch had malfunctioned. Put a new breaker switch in and only charged me $125.00!!! 2) Got everthing I wanted just the way I wanted it. Installed a new weather proof box and wired manual transfer switch on my well pump electronics that allows me switch the well from PG&E to generator power, provided the 240V power cord, installed ground and wire to generator, matched the plug to the generator and tested it to make sure everything worked. Great job!!
Eric and his team were on-time, professional and clean. They did a thorough job with zero issues. installing our backup generator. Would highly recommend Gentec!
