Techpro Builders replaced my heating system when my ancient furnace finally rolled over and died about three years ago. In addition to a new, highly efficient furnace, Techpro Builders also created an insulated, manually-adjusted ductwork system to direct more or less air into various rooms. They also installed a heating vent into an added room that was previously not heated. Everything works beautifully. Their work was quick, and the cost was very reasonable. I looked at several contractors ranging from San Jose, to San Francisco, to Berkeley. Techpro Builders provided the best overall solution, and they perform annual checkups at a reasonable cost to ensure everything continues to work properly. I liked Techpro Builders so much that, one year later, I asked them to upgrade the system to incorporate air conditioning. The manual airflow valves were easily upgraded to automated valves, and I now have two independent zones… one of them split across two floors. Again, the professionalism and value provided by Techpro Builders was superb. And they still continue to perform annual checkups on my total system. Three years on, I’m remain a very satisfied customer, and I give TechPro Builders my highest recommendation.
Why give a 2 hr window when you don’t make it in a 2 hr window. Understand that there are unexpected issues that arise but this can be solved with a call or a notification. Also, when I called to ask what the eta of the technician, they tell me “their on the way” but after waiting another 45 min, there was no text/notification or anyone at the door. Had to call again to be told that it would be another 20 min minimum. Unfortunately poor first impressions are hard to overcome.
Sorry if my review is a bit lengthy and dry, however, if you are going to hire them for a large project, it might be worth your time to read it through :-) Before getting into the lengthy details of what they did incorrectly in my project. I want to bring their Contractor State License Board (CSLB, who licenses and regulates contractors in California) investigation and court records to your attention first. I am not suggesting that being investigated or sued should be a deal breaker to you, but I personally take these records more seriously than online reviews. I wish I’d read them before hiring Techpro Builders for my project. I. CSLB investigation I filed a complaint against Techpro Builders to CSLB, and CSLB determined that Techpro Builders were responsible for one or more possible violations of the California Business and Professions Code. I have attached a copy of the letter from CSLB. II. Techpro Builders’ court records This can be done by selecting “Online Services” in San Mateo County Court’s website, and then selecting “Search Case Records” on the left side. There are two search systems, the MIDX and the Odyssey. The former can be used to search for case numbers by a name of a business like “Techpro Builders”. Once the case number is retrieved (like 18SCS01408), the “Odyssey Portals” can be used to find out the details of the case. This can be done by choosing “Odyssey Portals” from the court’s website, then “Odyssey Public Portals”, and then “Smart Search”. III. My project experience I hired them in November 2019 to replace my old furnace, duct, insulation, as well as to install a new air conditioner. The following are some of the issues of the project remaining unresolved after 2 years. 1. The insulations They failed to install almost all the insulations correctly. I have attached pictures showing examples of all these cases, as described below: a. Many parts of the ducts are not fully covered by insulation. b. There are too many patches on
Difficult to find a business that is easy to schedule, fair and up front on pricing, then exceeds expectations on quality and accuracy of work. Techpro Builders rejuvenated my 18 year old Carrier gas furnaces for a fraction of replacements. Highly recommend.
Great company to install mini split systems for residential homes. I was highly impressed with quality of work & design of the daikin emura wall mounted units.

I had a complicated project but techpro came out with a great quote and executed it. Our Eichler house does not have an attic so we had to install ducts above the roof by cutting through. Garen and his team were thorough in their work and every single item was done to perfection. From insulating the ducts to hanging the HVAC from the ceiling to save my garage spāce to high quality electrical work. He has many good members in his team who know what they are doing. He had to work with another roofing contractor but they executed that partnership nicely by coordinating well. am writing this review after 4-5 months of testing and am happy with the work and will definitely recommend Garen and Techpro team.
Mr. Park - the technician showed on time and was able to fix my central heating, was knowledgeable and also gave me ideas how to keep it in good condition.
Updated April 2021. We finally got our work completed. Once the company was engaged, the work was done well with decent follow ups. I wish that the process had been this smooth from the very beginning. Original review: We paid our $1,000 deposits for installations of a new furnace and ac. The company has been ignoring our emails and calls to discuss permit documentation and installation timeframe. We are very concerned whether we could get our deposit back. I would not recommend this company.
Beware...TPB HVAC services did not honor our arrangement. Considering the positive reviews on Google, thought they would be a good contractor for this $25k+ Carrier project. However when they informed me that the project was permitted and finished, asked owner Arman if they completed the required HERS certification as contracted and he said yes. Hired an independent HERS tester and they confirmed the system failed on this test. Notified management/owner of the fail in written email, phone and text and requested resolution, no response.... Guess in the end, we all expect our HVAC contractors to provide timely service in a honorable and professional manner. Wondering how many of their customers have systems that don't comply with state requirements and passing HERS certification. Guess only they know this. Engage with TechPro Builders at your own risk.

Very professional and solved our heat distribution perfectly, making the changes the system needed instead of doing a work-around, which was what another contractor proposed.
Professional, knowledgeable and responsive, with straightforward quotes and very competitive prices, even on complicated installations. Will handle all permitting and inspection for the job and subcontract to a licensed electrician for electrical work. Highly recommended.
Armen and his crew are top notch: punctual, thorough, willing to solve unexpected problems without inflating prices, correcting mistakes, and always responsive via email, voice, or text. You cannot get a better crew here on the peninsula.
I was badly injured from falling thru a 16"x16" hole they left in my floor out side of my bedroom door. YES A MASSIVE HOLE THEY LEFT UNCOVERED. I just posted a review and immediatly ARMEN, called and harrassed me about this and says He will not pay the judgement of $5000.00. Saying that I need to remove the review or he wont pay. THIS IS THE GODS TRUTH ABOUT LIFE CHANGING INJURIES I WILL LIVE WITH FOREVER AND THIS JUDGEMENT WAS SO LITTLE COMPARED TO DOUBLE KNEE SURGERIES I NEED. PLEASE PAY YOUR DUE. We had to do a big HVAC installation project that took many months of planning in order to decide the best location to put the AC unit and how to get the permit to pass the city planning department. Every step along the way Armen was very helpful with helping us with the details on the planning, he is always very responsive. The installation itself was a very difficult job, new AC line set, new high efficiency Furnace exhaust and water drain, two zone setup, new thermal stats. Armen's team did a very good job with every part of the install, the installation was clean, very professional. What I valued the most is that on many details of the installation, they communicated with me regarding all the options and proceeded with the one I liked rather than going with the one that was easiest to do, which is problematic with some contractors I encounter nowadays. So I highly recommend these guys!
I have a natural gas wall heater in my home with a mind of its own. Living in a flat room home on a concrete slab, it's one of the few available heating options. Trying to tinker with and troubleshoot these things is a pain in the a** I can attest from personal experience. Thank god for Techpro Builders. After a week or more of freezing and using my wood-burning fireplace more than I'd care to, Armen came out and spent the necessary time to evaluate and troubleshoot all aspects of the heater from the venting to the gas valve to the thermostat wiring to evaluate the problem. Came on time, dealt with the issue like a pro, and charged a fair rate. Wouldn't it be nice if every service provider experience was like that? My heater is now functioning again as planned, and I've also got a bid from Techpro for a new mini-split system throughout the house to replace my existing heaters. I'll add to my review later assuming I move forward with that project, but for now I'm a very happy guy.
I highly recommend Techpro. I had them install a mine spit heat pump system in a piece of commercial property and they did great work. They were officiant, friendly, and aesthetically conchs when it came to concealing equipment. Will definitely use them in the future.
Finding a reliable AC company turned out to be difficult. We invited six representatives. It is upon the recommendation from a neighbor that we included TechPro among them. We finally decided to work with TechPro because their representative: 1- ..was among the few to go in the attic to look at our furnace. 2- We did our research so we emailed him our questions as they came. He even replied on a Sunday night. 3- Based on our equipment, he recommended an AC that was cheaper than the one we were considering. 4- They came to work the day they had promised to come. 5- As much as we dreaded the experience, ours turned out to be simple. It is based on our experience that I feel very comfortable to recommend TechPro.
