We had to switch out our dangerous fuse box. It wasn't cheap, but Ongaro made it easy. They got right back to us when we called, arrived promptly to diagnose the problem and it was easy to schedule the work. Again on the installation day they arrived on time and did a great job replacing the box and installing a surge protector. They had a very quiet generator so the power to our fridge and computers stayed on during the six hour install. Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and neat. We couldn't be happier or feel safer.
Overall, the plumbing service was great. The plumber was knowledgeable and polite. BUT I feel that I was completely scammed. I was charged $430 to clean ONE standard drain. I checked with some other plumbers in Marin who quoted prices between $150 and $250. When I called to make an appointment with Ongaro, I was told it would be approx $75 for the initial visit. I asked approximately what cleaning one drain would cost since I knew exactly what was the problem with my drain. But the person on the phone refused to answer my question and merely beat around the bush. That set off alarm bells, and I should have just hung up the phone right then and there. But I have seen their trucks around town so I figured they would at least be within a reasonable range. Boy! Was that a mistake. $430 compared with $200 elsewhere. Unbelievable! Lesson learned. Won’t be calling them back ever again. I don’t mind paying for a service. I just don’t like to be completely ripped off. And this is exactly how I felt. So BUYER BEWARE! They do a great job. Nothing wrong with the guy who showed up at all. But be ready to pay a very steep price for admission.
Very professional and easy to work with. We’ve used them for several large and small plumbing and electrical projects and they’ve been great.
Yes Ongaro has been around, but I had a guy who cost $75 to show up to tell me how much it cost to fix my water heater (pilot lite wouldn't light), and did an estimate for a tankless water pump because he ballparked $3 to fix tank...Turns out after three other companies gave we me their estimates, the last guy looked at my water tank and said it was still under warranty. Cost me $250. So when I DO get a heat pump water tank not a tankless water heater, I'll be going w that last guy. He cost me nothing and saved me thousands.
We had a small leak in our disposal. I called to make an appoinment and they were a week out. I received a call the next day that they had received an cancellation and they could come repair the leak. James was our technician and he was very courteous, kind and informative. He replaced the old disposal with a new one and we were back on track. Thank you, James!
We were so impressed with the punctual, kind, professional, and cost-effective service of Ongaro & Sons! Douglas was fabulous in trying to help us figure out what the debris in our water was. He spent a lot of time looking over our water heater, piping in the basement, and water quality itself. Definitely going with these good people again!
Douglas was on time, efficient & informative. His estimate of the cost of the new water heater replacement was on target. I'm quite satisfied with the service.
Daniel is great, exceedingly helpful. This is the second time I have needed plumbing work done and it’s a pleasure to work with this company. Email is very responsive, scheduling was easy and the pro’s they have are top notch.

Daniel fulfilled all my expectations and more. The shower, faucets, and dryer gas shutoff valve/flex line were not properly installed by the original contractor on the remodel. now it works perfectly. thank you!
Renee came out due to A bad call by Comcast’s that out network closet had no power. They were wrong and she was right. She was timely , professional, and knowledgeable
Daniel was on time, professional, experienced, and very pleasant to work with. He showed up within the appointment window but the office called before the window to let us know he would be there towards the end of the window. They then called and texted us when he was finishing up the previous job to let us know he would be there in the next 5 min. Once here, he was very thorough in looking at our pipes and trying to help us where our leak was coming from. Everything was very professional and the company is pretty tech savvy with their estimates, ordering parts, invoices and appointment scheduling. There was no attempt to upsell us on things that I didn't need or ask for. I can't really comment on value because I don't have an idea of costs of plumbing labor and more importantly the cost of materials these days but I am happy with the service I got and will use them again. In fact, they will come out later this week to do another smaller job.
We've used Ongaro & Sons to install air conditioning, move a thermostat, and recently to consult about outdoor lighting. We've been very pleased with their services and have found all technicians to be competent and extremely pleasant. My most recent interaction was with Mark (fabulous) who moved the thermostat, and Renee, who saved me money by suggesting they install new outdoor fixtures rather than add more outdoor lighting.
The dispatch from Ongaro call me and tried to see if I was available for an earlier appointment time. I was not. Daniel arrived shortly before I did. I directed him to the issue and he examined and made a determination on where to go. After he completed his estimate of how to fix the issue, he was very transparent and honest. I chose my option signed a few places and now it is in my court. Awesome experience with Daniel.

We're building an ADU and needed our sewer lines mapped and inspected ahead of construction. Aldo arrived promptly at the beginning of the appointment time window, and quickly ascertained what we'd need for the job. Excellent!
We had a leaking claw foot bathtub with a very unusual pipe setup and parts that are no longer manufactured. Ongaro was the third plumber that we consulted, and the only one that could come up with a non-invasive solution. Daniel came out, quickly identified the issue, located a compatible replacement part, and used some creativity to implement a beautiful solution to a complicated problem. These guys are MUCH more expensive than many other plumbers, but they are very professional and great problem solvers.
Douglas, with Ongaro, was terrific in evaluating my house and advising on putting in a new tankless water heater in lieu of a tank. The gas lines were complicated but he went the extra mile by talking to the County Inspector to make sure we had enough to support one. It's going to be a great choice for us and for the planet having a much more efficient system. Thanks Douglas and Ongaro! Highly recommend!
