John provided me with an assessment of my 30yr old furnace. He spotted a heat exchanger wall that may not last much longer. Also he explained to me that my return venting is not optimum. In addition, he provided me with a lot of information about how the furnace and ducting need to work together. He is a very knowledgeable HVAC technician and has given me a lot to think about before replacing my existing furnace. I certainly got my money"s worth for his assistance.

John was the most helpful from the 5 other companies I received quotes from. Answered all my questions, didn't push for costly replacements. He came back to clean out the furnace and is running maintenance on our AC soon. Would highly recommend to anyone.
They came when they said they would, they charged me what they said they would, and they seemed completely professional and competent. They didn't solve my problem, but that wasn't their fault - it was a preexisting problem outside their scope. I would certainly call them again.

I called Bodnar because our furnace is making bad noises and our neighbor recommended Bodnar without reservation. Earlier this year, Bodnar replaced their furnace. John Bodnar came out to evaluate the situation and after making sure the furnace was operating safely, recommended we wait for warmer months so we wouldn't be left in the cold if repairs took more time than we'd want, which could be likely. John also found a loose hose connection, which he tightened up. I appreciate this kind of honesty and when things warm up will contract Bodnar to repair or replace the furnace, and do PM on the AC system. Trust is the most important consideration to me when finding people to work with and Bodnar passed the test.
I have worked with a number of HVAC companies over the years. Bodnar is the best I have worked with in the Bay Area. They are responsive, professional, reasonably priced and really know their stuff when it comes to heating. I would work with them again in a heartbeat.
John gave us a thorough education about our furnace and, what we can do to improve the efficiency of our current furnace. He was generous with both his time and his knowledge.
Our furnace in our attic stopped working during the extremely cold days in early February. Other HVAC companies I called were booked weeks in advance and/or would have charged extra for “emergency services.” I was able to get an appointment with John Bodner to come within two days at normal rates. He thoroughly inspected and did a maintenance on the furnace and patiently went over issues he found. He didn’t try to sell us on anything, and answered all our questions about what to expect from our old furnace. We were pleasantly surprised that his bill was quite reasonable,. The 20+ year old furnace has been working well since he fixed it 3 weeks ago.
We were very pleased with the service provided by Bodnar Heating & Air Conditioning company. They were reliable, prompt, professional, friendly, polite and cleaned up after they were finished with their job. They were very informative when I had questions about how the unit works and how to program it. You can't ask for better than this! Thank you for your services.

John has been our go-to HVAC contractor for years (we utilize two different systems in our home) and has always been very professional and reliable. Our latest job which had do with the venting of a new hot water heater, presented an especially difficult challenge, one which ultimately required coordination of several different professionals (roofing, electrical, etc). Although it certainly wasn't required of him in this case, he took the time to study our particular appliance and then personally coordinate the necessary steps/professionals to get the issue resolved. He very graciously educated on all related issues, and made sure we were taken care of properly. I will trust him every time to go above and beyond, and to ensure our safety and edification. Our heater gave out, just as cold and wet weather is upon us. John came out promptly and on time the next day, and carefully and thoroughly analyzed the problem. He started by asking what we had seen and experienced, then looked at the unit. He was clear in communication throughout, letting me understand his thought process as to different possibilities for what could be wrong. He then proceeded to methodically test each possibility, starting with the things that would be simplest/least expensive to fix. Once it was clear what the issue was, he got it working, and then thought through what the root cause could be, and worked to eliminate these systematically. In the end, there remained a couple of 'follow-up things' -- and rather than pressing for another visit, he gave me the option of doing these myself (they were simple enough that it made sense) and made sure I was comfortable with how to do these before leaving. All in all, a job very well done -- I would highly recommend.
