We have a 4 unit apartment building that was built in the 1930's. the forced air furnace was broken and needed to be replaced. The did the job- new ducts, venting, . Everything was very nice and accommodating. there was a small problem at the end with some clean up. they were very responsive and sent 2 people out to clean up. I really appreciated there response. I will definitely recommend this company. Rudy was very nice

This is a message for the Owner of this company. I see that you have been in business for a long time so I am sure you are a reputable person with reputable work ethics. Having said that I believe there is some shady business going on with some of your employees and you might not be aware of it. Your company just tried to rip me off. Little background: We will call 3 parties involved in this story with Option A, Option B and Option C (where E L Payne Company is Option C). I noticed that my AC was not blowing cold air. We are referred to this guy (Option A). We called him, explained to him what is happening and he says that in his opinion a part needs to be changed. He quotes $800.00 I think it is excessive and look for Option B. Option B actually comes to my place, goes on the rooftop, inspect the HVAC system and says that he can't refill the Puron because there is some sort of blockage. He said it will take him too much time to figure out and suggest we call Option C (E L Payne). We call Option C and they agree to come look at our unit charging us $97 dollars for the first 30 mins. This gentleman comes and knows personally Option B. He does not attempt to add Puron (he does not even try) and he said that 2 pieces need to be replaced. We ask for a quote. He goes into the car, spends about 25 mins and comes back. They are asking a WHOPPING $3304.49! Please note that they did not itemize the cost of this job. Parts plus labor $3304.49. He said 8 hours job, 2 men. I pay $97.00 to this company and tell them I will have to think about it. I feel I am getting ripped off so I call back Option A which agrees to come look at the unit. He attempts to put Puron in and he finds no blockage of any sort, no need to replace anything. Total cost paid $145.00 and My AC is cold and works as it should. I think that there is some sort of collusion between Option B and Option C. Option B comes, is nice and does not ask any $ for the service. He refers me to Option C that quotes me a r

In early 2018 I started construction on a ground up build. My first family home. Every detail of this home was personal to me. When it came time to bid and install the HVAC system, I decided to venture outside my contractors list of subs and meet with renowned LA service fixture, EL Payne Co. It was clear to me right away that this team was far superior to any others I had met, and displayed professionalism, timeliness, and a vast knowledge. Throughout this process we have had to make some adjustments and Payne, from office staff to field personnel has been incredible. So accommodating. There is great comfort in knowing that the equipment and installation is backed by such a reasonable and talented company. I would recommend Payne to anyone for service or installation.

I had the E.L. Payne Company install an air conditioning system on my house and could not be more pleased with the entire process. When I had the house gutted and rebuilt 13 years ago, due to budget concerns, air conditioning was crossed off the list. Figured I would get around to it eventually. Can't believe how easy it was to get it done. The team came out and did a great job, and maintained social distancing protocols while adding air conditioning to our existing forced air heating system. We opted for a roof mounted system and the install team went above and beyond, including bringing the crane back a second time because I screwed up where I wanted the unit installed. We were kept updated on all the steps as the three person install team stayed busy. Got to say, I was impressed with the speed and skill of these guys. Not easy to be up on the roof one minute, under the house the next, cutting through floors for returns, having to deal with the home owner working from home poking his head out every 30 minutes to say "how's it going?". A solid company that delivered on time, (actually finished a day ahead of schedule), on budget, and had a team of professionals both at the site and in the home office to get the job done. If I could give a six star rating I would, they earned it!

EL Payne was a wonderful company to work with. They were prompt, thorough, and extremely respectful of our home, as they installed heat and AC to our 1928 Spanish style home. Abraham, the job leader, went above and beyond to explain the process, talk about options, and to be sure to clean up after each day. You would never know that during a 5 day project, there was anyone working in my home. The owner, Daniel, even came by on the first day to meet us and to check on the progress. My experience with E L Payne was excellent. We had a new wall heater installed in our home. Our house is old and the technician did a great job explaining everything and providing our options. The gentlemen who installed the heater were very professional, courteous, punctual and personal. I appreciated that they used drop cloths when they came in. I felt very confident in this company's service. It's worth going with a well established and reputable company when it comes to heat and air jobs. They also gave me a good referral for the electrician who installed the thermostat. Everything works great and they finished early.

Our AC died in May, and after making a few calls to various vendors, I was so happy when a friend recommeneded E L Payne. They came out and took a look at the existing unit. Then based on that put together a comprehensive quote for a replacement. A few days later I had a new energy-efficent unit installed, tested and running! Everyone I dealt with at Payne was professional and willing to answer all my questions, from the initial phone conversation to the actual install they were great. The two technicians who installed the new AC arrived at the time they said they would, and got to work immediately. It was a two-day job and when they were finished it was like they had never been there, they had cleaned up, taken care of discarding the old unit and tested everything. Our AC ran all summer without any issues, and E L Payne called to check that everything was working well.

There is no question that E.L. Payne is the premier HVAC company in Los Angeles. From the invention of the gravity furnace to modern technology, family owned and operated (5th generation) they have proven time and again that they are on top of any problems that arise and are knowledgeable with all modern industry innovations. The service men are neat, polite, and prompt. They won't spend any more time than is needed and will not nickel and dime you to death. I wouldn't entertain using another company.
