Based on other ratings, I chose because they were the closest to my property. While initially going for troubleshooting my furnace, Dennis did inspect my entire system and noticed several problems. I decided to go with a new system, but I will admit I went off of impulse to ensure my family was good, especially being active duty military. I did go with the premium setup they had because it fit what I was looking for if I were to get a new system and made no sense on going lower on quality especially since family and health are important factors for quality of life. While I have no regrets with the purchase, I will say definitely do your homework. This isn’t to say I had a bad experience, as I feel I got great quality in a short period of time, but do feel it was higher on cost up front, but keep in mind quality, time, and experience do play a factor. I will say when I did approve the work, they started almost immediately and had the new equipment within the space in less than half a day. Afterwards, it did take 2 days for the furnace install and 1 days for the A/C (total 4.5 days work to include duct cleaning) but overall I do notice a considerable difference from my old to new system. The technicians who did the install were prompt and professional and did a great job with one minor exception. I was not a fan of how they did the attic cover change due to having to make the area bigger for the new equipment, but they did their best to restore it. Definitely recommend if you are in the market for a new system or needing repairs especially in the South Bay Area.
Dennis Leon was very professional and informative. He identified my heating system issue, ordered the necessary replacement parts, and executed the repairs. He provided helpful maintenance guidance which I plan on following moving forward, in an effort to extend the lifespan of my system. Southbay’s prices are staggeringly high which is why I did not give Southbay a five star rating.
I have nothing but good things to say I have nothing but good things to say about Dennis and his team. I am a real estate agent and have referred him multiple times and my clients raved about his exceptional service. I will keep on recommending him as he is the best in town.
They cancelled an appointment and called me stating they had emergency services to provide. This is understandable. However, the appointment was rescheduled to a later date and they didn't show or even call. A complete waste of my time on 2 different days. Lack of staff is no excuse. Just call people and let them know what is going on instead of not saying anything.
Thought that we should write to say how satisfied we are with the job that South Bay Heating and Air Conditioning did at our 50-year-old home in the Southern part of San Diego. Didn’t want to spend a fortune because we didn’t have that much money. Other companies proposed new units well above $20,000. Thought that we would see what a local Chula Vista company could do, and we are glad that we did. Dennis came to our house and gave us several options. We decided on one that was about $15,000. They were on the job right away and finished within a week. Some 1970’s houses built without air conditioning have old metal vents in the walls which must be replaced with new ceiling vents. Rather than leave the old wall vents and a tacky job, they brought in someone to drywall over the old vent holes and left the job looking great. We just need to paint the walls and we will be done. Could not have asked for a better job. Dennis is a very personable guy. We enjoyed working with Dennis and recommend him and his company.

I had a problem with my heater so I called yesterday around 4:30 pm and I was told the owner would call me back to schedule the appointment…No call that evening. I called back this morning at 10 AM and the person I spoke with said, “You didn’t get a call back? Ok, I’ll send him another message to call you.” It’s about 5 hrs later and still no call back. I hate giving someone a bad review, and understand they may be busy, but at least a phone call to know when they could service it would have been appreciated.
I’m a realtor and needed help with a vacant property that had some issues. Southbay was quick to respond and get me scheduled. Dennis kept in touch via text and was on time! It’s very convenient as well because he can help with electric, plumbing and HVAC issues. Walked me through a range of options and potential fixes and explained it all to my clients as well. Great experience overall. Very reliable and I intend to call them for any future needs. Highly recommend Dennis & Southbay

Our Heater broke, when we called Dennis, he was reffered through a friend and were amazed with his service, got here on time, explained me the services needed and gave me a reasonable quote. You don't have shop anywhere else, Southbay heating will be the only ones I trust for our AC services. I recommend 10 stars!
My AC was frosted over on the unit outside all the way to the hvac in the attic and began leaking into my daughter's room. This happened a few years ago and we used a different company that my homewarranty recommended. All that company ended up doing was re-adjusting my drip pan and adding freon. They were in and out in less than 45 minutes on top of showing up late. This time, I went against my home warranty's recommendation of the same company who couldn't even send someone to do the initial inspection until 3 days later and called Southbay heating and air conditiong after looking at reviews. They responded in a timely manner and sent someone out that day to assess the problem. He did a thorough examination of the unit both outdoor and indoor and gave his recommendations. He even recommended a company for the water damage to my daughter's ceiling.The next afternoon a tech was at our house fixing our AC and installing an upgraded sensor better than the one we currently had. We were so elated to have the job done in a timely manner and done RIGHT the first time that we will not be going back to the old company ever again. Overall the entire experience was amazing and I would definitely use them again in the future.

Dennis made the experience very seamless. He came to assist us with our AC unit just 2 days after calling. Also within the window they gave. He returned the next day to clean our vents-something we’ve been meaning to do for a while. So happy to have it all handled within 2 short visits.
Great service and a wonderful job done in a short amount of time. Very professional and quality work. Carlos was so polite and accommodating. He went out of his way to make sure we were completely satisfied with the work before he left and even checked on our water heater before he left to make sure it was good. Very pleased and will definitely use them again in the future.
