Poor install, left a mess, when I called to complain, the guy said “we are doing the best we can!” And hung up the phone

Maybe you should teach your drivers not to cut anyone off. The driver of your van today on Hwy 431 seemed to not have any regard for anyone's life.

We have owned our home here in Huntsville for 20 years and have used many contractors to help maintain it. We have always been diligent about doing our research; checking out several contractors at a time, looking them up at the BBB, getting references, and interviewing the contractor. Despite our best efforts, we sometimes still had experienced dishonesty, poor workmanship, and being over charged by hundreds of dollars. Parker Heating and Cooling is the best contractor we've ever had. They're honest, friendly, prompt, reliable, and do great work. They installed a brand new heat pump and air condenser 4 years ago. They also installed new ducts through the attic to a room that never had any before. Daniel Parker took the time and care to come over to our house, one time upon request, to discuss and inspect and make sure the job was done right. Last week our air condenser began leaking near the drain pipe. With the high humidity it was leaking about a gallon of water an hour. The unit is located on the first floor so we placed a bucket under it which we emptied throughout the evening and shut it off overnight. We called Parker Heating and Cooling late that afternoon and they came over promptly the next morning. Steven and Joe worked determinedly to find the problem. It turned out to be a drain plug inside the unit itself that had vibrated loose. They fixed it hassle free, honoring the five year labor warranty. We highly recommend Parker Heating and Cooling. They're people you can trust.

I would not recommend that you do business with this company. We bought a unit with a 5 year warranty from him in 2007, and paid for the extended 5 year warranty on parts and service. At 5 years we had a major issue with the unit. I called Mr. Parker, he said he had no record of our purchase. Luckily I had a copy of the invoice that stated we had purchased the extended warranty. I faxed this to Mr. Parker. He told me that extended warranty was only good if you have the unit serviced by him every year. I said there is no documentation to that effect. He then told me the extended warranty was on the manufacturer. I finally got in touch with the manufacturer, and they told me all extended warranties are between the contractor and the customer. Mr. Parker finally begrudgingly worked and our unit, and a couple of times after that. In November of 2016, with 4 months left on the extended warranty, we called Mr. Parker to the house once again because the air conditioning was not working. My husband talked to someone in Mr. Parker’s office after the inspection of the unit, and the office person statement we had a Freon leak that they fixed, buy we needed Freon and would have to pay for it but not the labor. The office person told my husband that was roughly $100 (they probably said her gallon), and we gave the go ahead. Then we got a bill for over $1,000 from Parker. We are not air conditioning people and did not realize and were not told how many gallons that would be needed, so we assumed the figure that was quoted us was the entire charge. There is no way we would have spent over $1,000 on a unit that was 10 year old and had several issues, if we had been quoted the totally price we would have applied that toward a new unit. When my husband talked directly with Mr. Parker, he said we were liars and were trying to get out of paying our bills. Very, VERY unprofessional. We paid this amount. This unit had better not be leaking the Freon, since they cla
