We received excellent service from this company. Our A/C went out at 9pm Wednesday and we have Choice Home Warranty as our home warranty. Temperatures in this Alabama heat can reach almost 100 degrees. We called Choice that night and put in a claim. They said that Hodges would come out on Friday to fix it. But the technician (Mack) called the next day on Thursday to say he could be at our home in an hour. We were elated!! Mack came as promised and fixed our system in about 30 min. This company gave us excellent service and we were thankful because we were skeptical of this company because of the bad reviews on Google. We will definitely use them again.

I agree with everything these other reviews are saying 100%. Our warranty company sent this company out to repair our air condition. He agreed to a (7a - 11a) appointment window. He spoke with my husband to discuss the time he was going to be here. As the other reviews says: he kept saying he was on his way. He said this all day long but didn’t get to our home until 7:15pm that night. I spent my entire off day waiting on this supposed to be business owner/technician. He said he was coming back to fix the problem with the air but he told our warranty company that he wasn’t coming back. Thank God, because he did us a favor by not returning. He probably would have made things worse with the air condition. If you use this company, set aside anything you got to do for that day because you’ll be waiting for this pretend to be technician (ALL DAY)!!!

Everything about this company is bogus... and that is attempt at being polite. The technician failed to show up for the first scheduled appointment without a call. When I called the company (5) minutes before closing, someone answered the phone then hung up without responding. In calling back, it went straight to voicemail. Finally, when someone showed up the following week, they wanted me to pay around $400 for refrigerant even though they were contracted with my home warranty service (Cinch -- who is also absolutely worthless, and I no longer have a contract with them), and I had paid my deductible for their service. In getting a new technician (Meyer's Heating and Cooling), it was determined that my system was leaking, the made a temporary repair, ordered a replacement part, and filled with refrigerant without additional cost to me -- aside from my deductible with American Home Shield (awesome company thus far)! So they never did an inspection -- only wanted me to offset their increased cost for goods & services. Also never filed a report to Cinch or returned my call so that I could dispute their claim!!! I only regret that I cannot leave ZERO stars... and that this is a Black-owned business... pathetic representation!!!

First off the technican was suppose to be here Friday May 7 between 1 and 4 noone came after i started to call an text noone answered so i texted only for the guy to say he knew nothing about my installation etc! He then later called followin a text sayin he was on the way only to call me with some lame story about his tools but then still didnt come its 8:55 pm i been without air since April 23 .. Please dont use this company

If I could rate a 0 I would. Sent out by home warranty company. No communication for a week after first evaluation visit. Made no appointment to come back to replace the air handling unit and pan just said they would be there that day. Showed up at 6pm and we were told 3-4 hour job. Left at 2am after damaging walls and staining carpet. Less than 48 hours later air conditioner not working. Didn’t put enough refrigerant in and unit not installed to code. Looking at $1400 to get it fixed properly. Will be seeing these people in court if home warranty company doesn’t make it right. STAY AWAY!

Do not use this company. Our home warranty company called them and they have been completely unresponsive and unavailable. They keep claiming that the part they need isn't here, but our problem is that neither the central office nor the technician who came to see our unit have been communicating with us at all. I honestly can't believe they even have 2 stars.

My guess is this company is "Out of Business". They hadn't changed their Voicemail. They're actually not "Out on a Call". My Home warranty company has also reached out to them several times with no response. You're better off finding someone else anyway my guess is valid. This is just plan unprofessional.

This was a Home Warranty of America claim. The tech came out, told me that the unit couldn't be fixed until I had the coils cleaned. Quoted me $300 for inside and outside cleaning. I refused the bullying tactic and asked for him just to replace the capacitor since that was his diagnosis. He said he couldn't do it. He left with my money. When I checked with HWA, they assigned another vendor who called me. I told him the story and he said that they capacitor should have been replaced because that's what the $100 covered. The new vendor said they only charge $105 for a chemical coil cleaning so they're coming tomorrow to do that. I would NOT recommend Hodges Heating and Cooling.

My original appointment was for Monday at 9am. Tech called and said he would be out between 5-6pm didn’t arrive until 630 pm. Was there 10 minutes said everything was fixed but coils needed cleaning. Thursday air was not working again. Tech came out today said coils are dirty and couldn’t fix until they’re cleaned. Told my wife he would send information to warranty company to see if it’s covered and that he had a customer he had to service in the area. Once he finishes he would come back. Well he never returned. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!

Horrible horrible horrible service. My husband and I and our 2 small children went almost a month without air after in the middle of summer. Someone from the company came out to diagnose the problem and never orderred the parts or followed back up.

Do NOT allow these people into your home! They called within minutes of my Home warranty company issuing a work order anD came out that day. The guy was here all of 20 minutes, said he added freon and took my check and left. Didn't even provide a invoice or receipt for the work he claims he did! I called the home warranty company back because the issue was continuing and they issued a recall on 5/20. No one ever called to schedule the return appt. I called and left a message. Again no call from them. I called the home warranty company AGAIN and they called him and left another message. Today 5/25, I called back from my phone number and was sent to vm, which was full at this point. I called the home warranty company and they said they could call again and email... and then sent me to the authorization dept for further assistance. While on hold with them I called from my son's phone, and lo and behold I get an answer! He tells me that they are shut down until Tuesday (holiday weekend, so not surprising). I ask for a time and date and he says Tuesday between 1-6. I then advise him that I needed an invoice for this supposed work that was done. He said he was "trying to pull it up right now". I informed him that my lawyer husband would be the one meeting with him and at that point he said "look I dont want to deal with irate customers, just have them transfer it out to someone else" I advised him that I was not irate, upset YES, after dealing with the heat in my house for 5 days with no response from the people who took my money and never looked back. Very, very shady practices. I would advise anyone to think twice before hiring them! Luckily, I went through my home warranty company so they have the burden of making this right, but I can not imagine what a mess it would be if I had hired them outright. BEWARE!!

Warranty company sent them out. Came out one day and spent 4 hours ruining our thermostat and not fixing the issue. Said we would be first stop in the morning. Still not here at 6pm. Won’t answer my phone calls. Won’t text back. Won’t return messages. If I could give them negative stars I would.

Do NOT let your warranty company send Hodges Heating & Cooling. Sadly, they do not provide reputable service. I wish I had seen these reviews before I wasted time and money dealing with them. The warranty company is now providing another contractor to repair my A/C unit.

No call, no show on the original appointment we set. Contractor called the next day and stated that he was 30 mins away and then showed up two hours after that. After looking around for 5 mins he asked how would I be paying. Never explained what was wrong with the unit just simply stated it needed a part. When asked what part he showed me a picture of someone else dirty unit and said that he could not fix mine until it was cleaned. Called some else out to clean the unit that did not actually need cleaning. Contractor never returned calls. Never came back with a receipt. This is a scammer do not book this contractor.
