The guy from Upland Mechanical came to the house to diagnose the problem. He told me he could fix it for $1,382.00 and my heat and hot water would be out of commission for 24 hours. Since that was pretty expensive, I called another plumbing contractor for a competing bid. The second guy fixed the problem on the spot for $90.00. I called Upland Mechanical and told them that I wouldn't need their services. I thought that was the end of the situation, but I received a bill in the mail from Upland Mechanical for $119.00 for the visit. The problem is that they didn't warn me in advance that the visit would cost me $119.00. The bill was a complete surprise. Surprise bills are not what I expected. Hence the low star rating.

Every now and then you come across old-school companies who do just as they say they will do, charge a fair price that is explained up front, are polite, on time, clean up the site, and offer several options for solving the problem you have. Needed somone to remove freon from a refrigeratior and haul it away. The refergirator was in a basment and hard to get to and remove. Called several places and was told our Company can do it but when they arrived said they could not. Very frustraing. Called Upland explained sitution and no problem. Came on time, very friendly and the referigratior is gone. Thank you so much for taking care of this. Working with Cherly was so pleasant. Will use them again.
Problem solvers who take over when larger companies fail. Alex worked until our ductless AC unit's repairs were completed, keeping costs to an absolute minimum and treating our home as he would his own. Immediately cancelled our service agreement with the dominant regional firm, changing to Upland Mechanical instead. A total peace-of-mind solution.
