04/2023 UPDATE: Upgrading to four stars. We are trying to sell the house, and a cursory examination of the facilities revealed several problems with the boiler installation. I called Josh from Tandem, and after I got a hold of him, he came by and fixed it for free even though the 1-year labor warranty has expired. He also explained that he ended up replacing some of his old crew last year because they were doing less than fully conscientious work. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've had Tandem Mechanical do my boiler replacement -- we went from oil to gas. The communication was less than ideal, it was very hard to get a hold of Josh. The work itself was OK (hence 2 stars). However a part of the contract was removal of the old oil tank -- and Josh couldn't do it at the time, so he asked me to sign off on the completed work, minus $500, with the understanding that he will finish the tank and get the remaining $500. And then he didn't do it and I had to arrange for the removal of the tank myself, which took several more weeks and over $600.
They did wonderful and owner and staff were all happy to help our home and they were friendly seems like a good business ran in a good way when employees are happy to you know they do honest work can't wait for next winter now with new heating system install

I recently learned from our city inspector that Tandem Mechanical didn't pull a permit when they installed my water heater last year, and a portion of the install is out of code. They've also been spotty on getting back to me with other issues/requests over the last year, promising to call me back and then not reaching back out on multiple occasions.
I don’t understand how this business received 5 stars. This was my very first time calling this business for a leaky problem I was having. I made an appointment on their site and they claim they never got my appointment info and no one showed up. Then I called and actually spoke with someone and they said they would schedule me an appointment, I waited all day yesterday for them to call me back with the appointment info and they never did. I called them back for a third time and this time they informed me that someone would come out to my home today between 8-9am and still no one showed. I called and now they won’t even answer. I don’t understand what the problem is. All I was trying to do was get a free estimate about a leaky problem in my home and yet this company is very unprofessional, very un organized and I am just disgusted that a business can be this rude to new customers. I encourage everyone to think twice before asking for their business. Don’t do business with this company
