NOT IN NORFOLK - MOVED TO YORKTOWN (an hour away) Never used them. Was looking for a local contractor for $15-30K of work. Have had too many fly-by-nights and fast-talkers - so I wanted to visit the office. Good instinct, because I have had HORRIBLE success with contractors over 20-30 minutes distance (and to be fair, that's an hour of travel you need to get paid for). The old location was hard to find, and looked deserted (it was less than .5 miles from my house) - but a passer-by informed me that they were long gone... No negative here unless you are concerned about the distance (experienced the "I need something from the shop" when the shop is 45 minutes away - and they are on the clock) - I suspect their quality has not changed with the move. I expect they will update their info at some point to be correct...

Excellent customer service. I called them at 10pm on Saturday March 7th 2020 because I noticed that my thermostat wasn't getting any power to it and it was freezing in my house. I left a message and within minutes, Judy called me back and helped me try and diagnose my problem just in case it was an easy fix. It didn't work but she had her technician, Tom, at my house the next day by 10am and he found the problem within minutes. Unfortunately the problem couldn't be fixed the same day because the part needed to be ordered and they said they'd call me the following day when they find it. Judy called me this morning March 9th at 830am saying they found the part and she could have Tom at my house by 930am. He showed up right on time and fixed my AC/heater unit within 30 minutes and I couldn't be happier. I've tried countless other companies to no avail but I highly recommend Sweetlands for anything HVAC related. Prompt, courteous and Professional.
Replaced my heart exchanger within two days of diagnosis. Provided pictures of the damaged great exchanger so it was covered under warranty.

For the last two years, I have signed a yearly contract with Sweetlands to do a twice-a-year check on my heating and air-conditioning service as well as On-Demand Gas Water Heater.....fall check before I use my heating system and spring check before I use my AC system. Each time, the service associate has been on time, courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable when answering any questions I may have. I've even had Judy show up to perform the bi-annual check once! Previously, I had a bad experience with another company that led to me switching to Sweetlands. On the first check done with Sweetlands, the service representative found a flaw in the previous company's work that could have resulted in a dangerous event and was definitely costing me more money from an operational standpoint. So, the switch to Sweetlands literally paid for itself with my first visit! I definitely believe that Sweetlands is a great local business, and I intend to continue my association with them in the coming years. My annual maintenance contract covering twice yearly cleaning, maintenance and check of all three of my units (Heating, AC, and On-Demand Gas Water Heater) is $374/year.
For price, quality, and customer service this company can’t be beat!! Overall best in Hampton Roads!!
I would like to that Judy and her staff for going above and beyond to help me with my AC unit. They explain everything to you and answers any questions you have. I will be recommending my family and friends.
The owner Judy is very unprofessional. She came to my home yelling & screaming over a payment dispute. Threatening me, the whole 9. I will never recomend this company to anybody. Worst company ever.
I called Sweetland for a broke sensor and they came out to diagnose and said it was a broke sensor. Judy said she could order the part and it was 47.00. I found it online for only $17.00. She also said that a technician would have to stay with it after it was installed for several hours making sure it worked costing me $300.00. I told her no one is going to milk me for $330.00 dollars when I can buy the part online for $17.00 and put it in myself.
FIVE STARS- ABSOLUTELY ! ! ! I have used Sweetland's Heating and Cooling for about 12 years. They are honest, thorough, conscientious and of the highest quality in the their work. Their prices are reasonable, especially if you buy the service plan. The owner hires only hard working and very knowledgeable technicians who are quality workers. The report they leave you with is full of technical details. Before my new HVAC system was installed, my home was measured, the windows and doors counted, attic inspected, insulation R-values known. All that compiled information got me the system BEST for my home. No other HVAC dealer had ever done that.
We’ve used Sweetland’s Heating & Cooling for years. They’ve always been responsive and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Judy and her team!
I called Sweetlands tonight (Friday) around 5pm. My AC decides to stop working and the house got to 79 degrees. I had a miserable 5 year old and 6 month old. Due to it being after hours, I had to pay an additional fee. But it was completely worth it. Our AC tech, Andre was here with in a hour to help us. He was very friendly and professional. Had goofy conversations with both my children and even killed a spider for us! I would definitely recommend this company!
Judy and her crew are the top notch professionals. She won't upsell you with something you don't need just to pad her pockets. After her work, our electric bills are significantly reduced. Highly recommend!!
Judy and the guys did an outstanding job working to fix my York system. They came as promised and worked in difficult circumstances to get it done right. I will use them again whenever I need anything done.
In price, customer service and quality of work, I rate them five stars! They came in when they said they would, fixed everything, and left the place as clean as they found it. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable.

Judy Sweetland worked on my HVAC system and she is incredibly knowledgeable & trustworthy, and runs a great company. When it looked like I might have to replace my geothermal system, she came up with another (much cheaper) option that might work. And it has for the last several months. She spent a couple days here, and followed up to make sure everything was working well. I trust her implicitly.
