Stephen was the first guy I called that said he could come check my AC as soon as I called him. Everyone else said I had to wait 1-5 days. The fix was quick and simple. He figured it out pretty much immediately. Very knowledgeable. He taught me more about AC’s than I ever knew before. He also ran a ton of diagnostics and made sure there were no other issues. Will recommend from now on.
Stephen and the team took amazing care of us from the first interaction through the completion of the job. They're extremely thorough and provided us with so much information about how our systems were functioning using both photos and diagnostic data. When it came time to discuss the state of our systems, Stephen provided as many different scenarios as possible so we could make a truly informed decision about next steps. This company offers very fair pricing, is extremely responsive, and really knows how to take care of their clients. We couldn't be happier!

Referred by a friend, I kept Smart Home Comfort's number for the one day I needed it and yesterday was that day. Contacted SHC and schedule an appointment via the website which functioned perfectly. I was contacted by Stephen R. within the hour via text and we did some light diagnostics. He was able to schedule me first thing today, thanks for that. On time and didn't dawdle. SHC has a talented technican in Stephen R. It is readily apparent by the state of workflow he gets into. He can talk and tech simultaneous, as a bonus he will teach you as well. I had an outstanding experience with Stephen Rardon of Smart Home Comfort. In less than twenty-four hours from the time I first called, he was at my home, diagnosed a complicated HVAC problem, networked with the manufacturer and a supplier and we are on the way to solving the problem and getting our system back up to excellence from its subpar performance level over the last many months.
I asked for a quote for a new HVAC system from Smart Home for a 23 year old system. The technical person, S, and the in office person, C, were courteous, professional and provided sound technical input and advice that was based on data and facts. They obviously understand their systems. I recommend anyone seeking HVAC work in the Durham-Chapel Hill area consider engaging SmartHome as a potential service provider.

For years I used the big companies that offered the maintenance "deals" which always included hard sell tactics for additional services and only basic service. The folks at Smart Home Comfort provide excellent and thorough service and never recommend anything you don't need. I have been very pleased with every service they have provided and would highly recommend them to others.

Had Smart Home Comfort out to check out my HVAC after the previous company dropped the ball. They were very thorough, pointed out several problems that the previous company missed. The photo gallery of all the issues with notes was a nice touch. They got my the system back up for the short term without having to replace any parts and I'll be having them back to work on the other issues. Edit: So glad I switched to using them. Just called after hours got immediate answer. Knew who I was, what my system and able to tell likely problem from a quick description. Got here very quick and fixed the system in a few minutes. Happy customer Edit 2: Had another after hours issue that tripped a fuse. Stephen offered to come in the night but I was fine with next day service as weather wasn’t too bad. Keep me updated on his arrival. He got here at the time scheduled, quickly diagnosed what the likely problem was (a short) and found it in the outside AC shutoff and had everything back working perfectly in under an hour. Received usual gallery of photos etc. Excellent and friendly service.

The best Tradesman to ever grace our property. Stephen is professional, timely, technically adept, and communicative. He also has integrity and doesn't engage in pushy sales. His work speaks for itself. Overall the system was done with attention to detail and responsive to our concerns. A year later, we did have a minor issue and it was taken care of promptly.

As usual, Stephen and Andrew are always great to work with. I definitely recommend them for your HVAC work. We have been using them since we bought the house 3 years ago.
Steve was very responsive and knowledgeable. He was able to get 2 of our church Sunday School classrooms up and running in 2 days as well as upgrade our thermostats. We are turning all of our ductless systems over to him for preventative maintenance and emergency service.
Stephen is very professional. He located a leak that caused a pan to develop rust. Was thinking the pan might need to be replaced, but when he came back determined that it just need to be cleaned, and we only needed to replace the item that broke and caused the leak. Also explained what possibly cause the damage. Attic is not insulated, and because it got very cold, water in the unit likely froze and cause a crack and subsequent leak. Stephen is great at explaining how things work and where potential problems might come up. Glad he was able to help.
I can't say enough good things about Smart Home Comfort. The heat stopped working in my business on an incredibly cold day right before the holidays, and I was headed out on vacation- basically, the worst time for your heat to go out. Smart Home Comfort came out the day I called, fixed things, and made it so I could go on with my holidays with 100% peace of mind. I am so appreciative and cannot say enough about the great customer service I received!

Sadly, Smart Home Comfort will no longer be servicing our system at our lake home. We understand the profit/loss issues of travel but have enjoyed their service and advice.
These guys were awesome. They called me ahead of time to let me know that they were headed my way. Once they arrived, I voiced my issues and they went straight to work. I was really impressed with their expertise. They thoroughly checked everything and immediately knew what the issue was. They also gave me a few pointers on my hvac and thermostat. They were very professional, very thorough and detailed with their findings. Thank you so much for the prompt response and for reassuring me that everything is in working order.
