Edit- June 2023- Most of my review stands. The installers we had out to our home were great to work with, and we are thoroughly enjoying our new AC. However, there is something seriously wrong at this company. We suspect it has to do with internal communication and management. We paid multiple thousands of dollars for our install, and we had to call them out several times for issues that should never have occurred based on the order we placed. This was in the spring, so it wasn't even peak season. First, the humidifier we ordered wasn't initially installed on the furnace. Second, we had to call them back out to put the correct switch on the humidifier (auto instead of manual). Finally, they had to come back out to hook the AC to the thermostat! (We tried to run it once it warmed up outside, and it failed to kick on.) The final straw, however, was today. (And believe me, we were plenty annoyed with all the other issues we had had to deal with.) I was told upfront by SGI that my Consumers Energy efficiency rebate would be handled by the company, that we wouldn't have to do anything. We had not received it after all this time, so I called CE today. Per Consumers, SGI never filed it! SGI, you need to take a long, hard look at your internal communication procedures and your management. One issue would've been excusable and acceptable as human error. But four for a single install is extremely indicative of severe internal disorganization. It's obvious from the outside that something is amiss inside the company, and dealing with issue after issue is frustrating and annoying for the consumer, especially for the price tag. ------------ I approached SGI for a quote because they were the closest dealer of Carrier HVAC equipment in my area. We wanted an AC unit that would match the furnace in our home and wanted to add on a humidifier to the furnace. They didn’t give us an estimate. A very skilled crew installed the Lennox pair of required equipment to home with precision, alacrity and dispatch. Feeling very secure about battling the impending weather (both hot and cold) that global warming has for us in the Toledo, Ohio area in the coming years. Very impressive products and installation crews, services and warranties !
Company was on top from start to finish. Installers was professional and done good work.
Great courteous customer service fast efficient installation i had a mini split ac unit sitting in my room for two years with other ac companies saying they don't install AC units that were not purchased from them but sgi heating and cooling came through for me.
I chose to schedule an appointment for HVAC replacement directly via Home Depot website, where SGI Heating and Cooling contacted me. The Sales Consultant Tom Sullivan was professional, very friendly and I was pleased by how willing he was to dedicate his time and go above and beyond to accommodate my expectations, very helpful on finding the best solution for quality/price ratio. The technician Wayne Jackson was on schedule and did a great job with installation, provided protection sheets over my flooring, including cleanup at the end. Also, he was knowledgeable and helpful with advice on type of filter and future maintenance of the HVAC system. Overall, I was very happy with their approach and was glad to experience these days there are nice people to work with, who are capable to bring the products and services in today's world.

Todd & Tyler came out and installed an A/C and furnace on a short notice. Informing me every step of the way, respectful and courteous! They treated my family and home as if it was their own! Thank you!
This has been the most disappointing experience I have had with a company. Cory Fuller is unprofessional, unknowledgable, and incredibly off putting. After he called me 6 times (I answered every time besides once) with questions that I'm not certain he was aware what he was asking, it became very clear he didn't want to perform the estimate. He started rambling about contracts, permits and other items that would need approval (understandable once we agree to the work) - WE WANTED AN ESTIMATE. He confirmed all 5 times on the phone that he would be there, he will happily give us an estimate, and then cancels via text message and says call me when you purchase your house (we are in a rent to own situation with permission from the owner). I can not believe this is an affiliate of home depot as the customer service is miles apart. I can only imagine what the project would have been like. **Edited to respond** he sent me a "quote" via text message with a $2000 variance for a home that he is unaware of the square footage and a furnace that he was supposed to view to ensure it has the capabilities that he needs to do the job. Does that sound like a proper estimate to you? I would love to discuss this further with someone besides Mr. Fuller. Thank you!
Words alone could not express how satisfied I am with the installation of my new heat pump/AC units/thermostat. They DESIRE the 5 star. They just finished one unit and coming back in a month to install second unit. Hopefully, my review will not change when they come back to install the second Heat pump/AC/thermostat.
I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this company. From the wonderful receptionist Grace in the service department, to Matt the service department manager, Dave who was so polite and professional when fixing our A/C and most importantly Todd Martin who has always taken such great care of not only our boiler, but of us. We have used several different heating and cooling companies in the area, but none compare to SGI. If you want a responsive and professional repair or installation, this is the company you should use. Thank you to everyone at SGI, we appreciate you all!
The guys arrived on time and bless their heart they stayed and finished it all in one day getting done at 9 pm, long day for them. Very knowledgeable and explained everything to me, my puppy even like them ..alot :) I would recommend them to any one needed new or just general maintenance.
Our furnace died unexpectedly and within a couple of days I went from estimate to beautiful installation in 2.5 days. From the Estimater to the Installers, 100% professional and since this is my third time using them, I would not go anywhere else. Highly recommend.
I had a great experience with Todd Martin he installed my new furnace with the upmost care and was very professional and knowledgeable of my whole system, he also gave me tips and insight into how to check and clean certain parts.. I would 100% recommend SGI. They did a great job replacing my AC, furnace, and water heater. They even help me one year later after the installation with an issue with the installation permit. They were super responsive and follow up until the problem was clarified (even though it was not their fault). All the people I met at SGI were above and beyond. Super happy I found them.
Phenomenal service from the whole team. From Tom who explained our choices and how each system worked, to the service tech gentalmen that just left, and the office team contacting us with information and up dates. We can't say enough about this team. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, impeccable work. The areas the techs worked in, furnace disposal, new installation, duct and vent work, thermostat placement. Everything is in place, cleaned up and functioning correctly. We have a clear understanding of what to do if a problem does arise. Excellent work!!
My furnace was old and not properly working. Had excellent service installed a new furnace, air flow system, and thermostat. They were very nice, and communicated with me through the whole process. I love my new furnace!
Everyone at SGI is of the highest caliber. We had our entire heating/ cooling and air conditioning system changed and it was done with minimal disruption & professionalism. Everyone has been friendly & very easy to work with. Their rates are also quite competitive!
I had an all around great experience with SGI and will use them for related work in the future. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Everything from the initial estimate to the installation went smoothly. Overall I came away with the feeling that SGI built its business on trying to be as helpful as possible for its customers rather than pushing products or upselling them. I not only learned a lot through the process but we found a heating and cooling package that was better than I would have expected for less than I was expecting. Couldn't be happier.
