I used Schede for both HVAC work as well as for a plumbing emergency. Randy worked on the ductwork Installation and was very professional and knowledgeable; he explained everything he was doing in a way that I could understand. I also had a major plumbing emergency and they were able to come out the quickly and fix the problem. Nick the owner was also very professional and knowledgeable, and explained the problem clearly. I also liked the fact that they were able to give me an accurate estimate of the cost of the repair. I would definitely recommend Schede to anyone who needs plumbing or HVAC services!
In 2015, I was referred to Schede as our hot water heater needed replacing. I was extremely impressed with their service, very reasonable prices and excellent turn around time. Fast forward 8 years, we decided to replace our hot water heater with a new unit. Again, Schede did an amazing and fast job. Their service and integrity is top notch. I highly recommend them!
First-class operation. They respond promptly, get the job done quickly and expertly, are always honest and fair. I use them for all my plumbing and HVAC services, plus they recently rebuilt/insulated my garage ceiling (did a beautiful job). Ask for Nick, he is awesome, everyone there is excellent too.
Waited around all day with no call or messages. Came the next day. Did a good job the next day but a bit pricy.
This company’s plumber repiped second floor waste lines with PVC; repiped bathroom and kitchen cold/hot lines with Pex; repiped main line to basement with PVC in five days after cement floor demo and cast iron main cut and removed with as little damage as possible to drywall. Leak sources have been removed and replaced. Although renovation and repair by a different company has not yet begun, in regards to our home waterworks, I’m pleased with the methodical attention to plumbing design and timeliness of Michael Green and his assistant, Eric, toward our older home and pleased with the responsiveness, considerate explanations, and coordinated follow up by owner Lou and son, Nick Schede. I look forward to reporting back upon project completion.
Schede Plumbing installed our Navien Combi-Boiler when we converted from oil to natural gas heating. The install team was professional and the workmanship was excellent. Pricing was fair and the customer service excellent. We had a few minor adjustments needed after the initial installation, and received quick turnaround to resolve the issues. Both Lou and Nick have always been fantastic to work with, and I would highly recommend Schede Plumbing for any plumbing needs.
We ordered a new washing machine from a local company who said they would also install it. When the company came, they didn’t have the right part and really left us in a lurch and said to call a plumber. After making a few phone calls Schede plumbing was the only who doesn’t seem to have staffing issues as they were able to send someone right away! Nick came out within 20 mins of our call, he had the right part and was able to finish the job. I’m so thankful for them and will be sure to call for future needs! Professional, courtesy and reasonably priced!
After dealing with unprofessional local Plummer from cos cob, riverside are I must say this Plummer service gave me a peace . From the owner Mr. Lou and the Plummer Mr green everyone was so understanding and accommodating. I am very happy with my Service and I am currently using them again because they’re amazing work service . I honestly recommend them.
Used them for my hot water heater replacement a few years ago, and since then the flow check valve has failed twice, not to mention the ridiculously high price they charged each time. They had completely no idea what might have caused the failure and all they could do was to replace the valve and wait for it to fail again in a couple of years. Also every time they came over to fix something my water heat would stop working afterwards or some other issues would come up which they had to come back and fix it, and as a result I had to pay them more. It's a completely disappointment and a waste of money to do business with them. I will never do business with them again and I'm surprised that they haven't gone out of business yet.
Terrible company that doesn't stand by their products. Gave me the run around after contacting manufacturer directly myself after water heater failed in 5 years. Office staff gave misinformation re: warranty coverage. Price gouging.
II had my old water boiler replaced with new high efficiency combi unit. Estimate was very reasonable. All work started promptly and completed on time. Very happy with results. I would definitely hire them again.
We needed help right away and Nick came right away and got the job done quickly. He is very skilled, personable and the prices are fair. We already went to him for another job.
They did excellent work, were on time and very professional. I'll definitely recommend them highly to anyone doing a remodel or in need of repair.
I cannot recommend Schede Plumbing more highly. We recently called with an emergency - our water main was leaking into our foundation - and Nick and company were an absolute lifesaver. Not only were they quick, responsive, and professional, they had to dig up a good portion of our front yard and remove half the shrubbery in order to find the leak but they brought in a landscaper to replace and reconstruct upon completion. Their prices are reasonable but their service is exceptional and I cannot thank them enough. I would highly recommend to anyone in the market for a seasoned, professional, trustworthy plumber.

This review is not about the business or their work but an assumed employee. Witnessed this older white male be very rude to a black CVS worker at the pharmacy in New Canaan. Made everyone around uncomfortable. Exited behind him and saw him leave in a Schede Plumbing truck. I would not want to do business with anyone with the type of character I just saw.
I've used them for 3 separate incidents. For literally every single one, they missed the first appointment, didn't call back or let me know if it was rescheduled. Not once were any of my additional issues or concerns addressed or fixed. Last one the service call was to replace ALL my water shut off valves... the tech who showed up the next day without anyone telling me called me, I went back home from work, and he had no supplies to do any of the work. Went out to buy solder so he could fix ONE of the valves. There are 12 shutoff valves in the house.. Company called to collect the 200 dollar charge for never doing what I asked them to do though... until I complained at which point I was hung up on by one person, then laughed at by another... Techs were pleasant and capable (but ill prepared)... service and scheduling is a complete joke.

I have never experienced such unprofessional and awful service for any business. When I had our hot water heater installed I told them we needed aluminum anode rods and was assured we wouldn't need them. 1.5 years later and our water treatment company tracks the nasty sulphur smell to the hot water heater and says we need to replace the iron anode rods with aluminum ones. We called Schede (the original installer) , they sent out a plumber who arrived late and replaced one of the iron anode rods with a new iron anode rod and had to come back to do the 2nd one he didn't know about (despite the fact they did the install and were provided model and serial number) . Whether they did this so they could charge for a 2nd visit or by mistake, it's awful service. When the sulphur smell came back again, I called and found out this mistake and they scheduled the replacement for the following Monday. The plumber never arrived nor called. When we called they simply rescheduled for the following Monday after that. On that Monday, the plumber again didn't arrive on time or call. When we called him, he said he needed to order the anode rods and couldn't reschedule until he had a delivery date. I'm still waiting for a reply on my question as to why the rods weren't ordered before the first visit as I requested in writing when I provided the model and serial number that they should have had on file.
Furnace broke down on coldest day of winter. They came, gave a reasonable price on replacement, and after I agreed, they had a crew working on it all day (it was previously an old system and wiring was funky so needed several people). They made sure my family, which includes young kids, would get a new and working heater same day. Very appreciative for all that they did. They even followed through when summertime came to come out and check wiring on unit to make sure ac worked (the furnace is hooked up to ac unit). Great group.
