I can't say enough about Vini, owner and operator of Preferred Heating and Cooling. He's been my go to guy for all of my HVAC issues since I bought my building in 2018. That's a 5 year relationship and I will never look to anyone else. He is always honest, professional and timely. I've never had any issues with his work or the work of his team. Who are also outstanding. When people ask me if I have an HVAC guy, I give them Vini's number. And my friends call on him and have the same experience. Vini is a dream. You won't be disappointed.

High attention to detail, quality work - educates the customer on what he's doing, and what might need to happen in the future. Have used Vinny 3 times now and and will continue to do so.
OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE (AC UNIT REPAIR) I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Our AC unit was making Very Bad Noises when we turned it on during the heat wave last week, and of course, no cold air. We called and called repair companies to no avail--no one even returned our calls. I was rinsing the dogs down every few hours with the hose and was about to go and buy a kiddie pool for them (!). I kept looking for repair companies and came across Preferred online, read their reviews, and left them a VM. Vini called me back within 30 min and put me on a wait list (we were number 6), with an appt on the following Thursday (they are slammed and after this experience I completely understand why). I said great at least we have an appt for service. Then they called during dinner that same day, and Vini and Eddie arrived 7:20pm (on a Saturday), diagnosed (@ 3 min), replaced the part (@ 8 min), put cover back on and started it up (@ 13 min), and she started up. To much applause by us. Eddie rinsed the unit down to clean out the air vents and we headed down to the basement w Vini to look at the ductwork and such (@ 16 min). Tested the temp of the cooled air (@ 26 min). Air temp 55 degrees. They charged us $350, including service ON A SATURDAY, and the replacement part. Please take our money, we said gratefully. It's not how long someone is there to do the repair, it's the fact that their customer service is extraordinary, they had the correct equipment to diagnose, the correct parts and tools in the truck to repair on the spot, the experience and understanding to explain to us what happened (and what will happen with a unit as old as ours, and what to do about it), and the matter of fact kickass approach to solving our problem. I just love it when we hire an expert! And even more: they were in our neighborhood on the way to another appt and stopped by to see if they could just take a look--they cautioned me it was just a look to make sure they had the part when they came back
Vini and team are the best for HVAC repair and annual system maintenance. I live on the Northside of Chicago (Logan Square/Avondale area) and have worked with their company for over 3 years now. They're reliable, trustworthy and seriously go above and beyond to accommodate their customers! Side note: I found them after searching and searching for a company I felt I could trust which is so hard nowadays because you just don't know who half these companies are... I'm not kidding folks, the reviews for this guy are insane. Just take a look and you can see why so many customers love this guy and his business. They've always came to my home promptly when there was an issue, were clean and respectful of my home (they always put on shoe covers which I appreciate because I have small children) and are just great guys. If you have ever worked with other HVAC companies, and home repair businesses in general, you know the techs and service can be down right unprofessional. These guys at Preferred Comfort are seriously so nice and do a great job!! After the initial repair when we first moved into our home, I can now say fortunately I only get to see Vini and crew when it's time for my system's annual maintenance. I highly recommend these guys and have done so for friends and family many of times. Stop searching for other companies and just give Preferred Comfort a call!
Vinny is an awesome guy. He went above and beyond, highly recommend. He was prompt, efficient, knowledgeable. ETA: A bit pricey though. $180 to change the condensate pump, which I later found out is a $34 part that my husband had already replaced. Vinny extended the warranty to 2 years when I came back to tell him this. ETA2: I ended up having the unit serviced by a different company, a very skilled gentleman who spent many hours taking it apart and repairing it. Yes these units are old, but they used to make them to last. These newer "planned obsolescence" units are just not built to last and it absolutely doesn't make sense to replace it if a skilled technician can properly repair it.
Vinny is a true hero. He was able to really, really help me out in a pinch and resolve a time sensitive issue. Not only was his pricing fair and work exceptional, he’s a stand up guy and we look forward continuing to work with him and recommend him to friends and family.
I hired this company to clean a few furnaces of mine and give them a winter checkup. The owner, Vinny, came out to do the work himself and did a good, extensive and thorough job. Preferred comfort also charged me 13% less than other high rated, online, HVAC companies. Vinny performed a more comprehensive tune-up of the furnaces than my usual heating person, who charges 7% more, does. In addition, my usual HVAC tech has been telling me for the past couple years that I need to change one of my furnaces, however, Vinny said the furnace is fine and just needed a good cleaning & inspection. He didn't try to upsell me at all like the other company, who I've known for several years, did. This is a good, honest company that does quality work and I will highly recommend them to my neighbors, friends and suggest that others follow suit.

Great service, Vinnie and his associate came out the day and time I requested to fix my A/C unit on a VERY hot day. They also did a full inspection of my furnace to make sure airflow was not an issue. Very fair price, these guys know what they’re talking about and won’t try to sell you things you don’t need. Will use again in the future.
Vinny is fantastic. Very responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. He was able to fix my heating problem quickly, and even came over a second time free of charge for a follow up. I highly recommend him.

My heater broke down and a friend referred me to Vini for prompt emergency service. I texted him that evening and he came that night! He was very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing in terms I could understand. Excellent service.
