Perry is very reliable and has saved us in both summer and winter HVAC crises. Our SpacePak AC system would freeze up after just a few hours of running and the typical fixes that other technicians suggested (basically, more refrigerant) had no effect. Perry evacuated the system, installed a freeze stat and new filter drier and the system finally started running well. We had even more, unrelated problems with the system (corroded circuit board, broken thermostat) and Perry always came out immediately to diagnose and fix the problem. He always checks up hours and days later too, which is very comforting. He’s done great work on our hot water boiler as well - heroically getting it to re-light at 3 in the morning in -20 weather! I’m so grateful that we found him.
These are the ONLY folks I trust with my heating and cooling. End of story.
Perri-Aire have been my heating/cooling service provider for at least 7 or 8 years, and I couldn’t be happier with them. Kathy is always incredibly friendly and helpful on the phone, and Perry is truly knowledgeable and professional - apart from just being a really great and funny guy. We have an old Victorian house, so it takes someone with genuine understanding and knowledge to deal with the issues that arise. Apart from general annual maintenance on both the cooling and heating, Perry has fixed old leaking radiators and ultimately a couple of years ago he had to entirely replace our furnace and boiler. It’s at times like that when you really appreciate having someone totally trustworthy and reliable to give you the confidence that you are doing the right things. I would recommend Perri-Aire to anyone.
Perri-Aire has been taking care of the HVAC of my Wrigleyville 3-flat since they started business in 1987. This included maintaining the original boiler and steam heat, and then transitioning all 3 units to individually controlled gas forced air and air conditioning with all of the associated ductwork . Perri-Aire also installed radiant floor heating when the 1st floor was duplexed with the unfinished basement. I have had an annual maintenance program in place with Perri-Aire since day-one. Per the contract, they performed the annual furnace clean and check and filter replacement in the late fall. I am happy to report that during the recent article blast, all 3 units maintained a comfortable temperature as set per the thermostat, and the radiant-heated floor on the lower level was warm to walk on. I highly recommend Perri-Aire for all of your HVAC maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and new construction needs. Pete W.

I had a recent problem with my boiler. I called Perri Aire first as I'd used them many times in the past. Perry squeezed me in quickly and came within short notice. He was courteous, very thorough, explained my existing problem and got my heat back on in no time. He did a clean job for a very fair price. I've always found him trustworthy, skilled and very fair. I couldn't ask for a better HVAC provider.
Don't bother calling this company for Ice Machine Sanitizing!!! Woman was very rude and doesn't want any new business....so much for supporting small businesses 😕
We've used Perri Aire twice, both times for when our central air-conditioning failed; both times it was an inexpensive and quick repair. We're glad to have found an A/C repair company we can trust.
I’ve been using Perri-Aire for all my HVAC work since the 1980’s. The first instance was when our boiler just stopped working one evening on, of course, a very cold night outside. My wife and I looked up one of the larger HVAC companies in the phone book and they came out to check it out. They looked over our boiler, which was only about 10 years old at the time, and said there was really nothing that could be done to it and the smart thing to do would be to just install a new boiler, for about $2500. The kicker was when one of those service guys said “it’s really the smartest thing to do, especially with 2 small kids in the house”. We could tell that we were being played, and always have had a policy to never make snap decisions like that without thinking it over for a while. We thanked them, got them out, and then started looking for other estimates. Fortunately, we had Perri-Aire come out to check it out, and Perry informed us that it was just a simple thermo-coupling that needed replacing, and took care of the repair for a nominal fee and we were back up running with heat. That boiler lasted for several years without any further problems. Over the years we upgraded that boiler with an ultra high efficiency unit, along with the water heater, and have done extensive remodeling on the house, all using Perri-Aire as our HVAC expert. We now have the most luxurious and comfortable heat imaginable; radiant floor heat in several areas of our vintage 1920 bungalow, including in the new “bump-up” master bedroom suite, remodeled bathrooms and kitchen. I have to point out that unless you have lived with radiant heat you simply can’t know how comfortable and unobtrusive a heat system can be. We also had Perri-Aire install 2 separate central AC units for ultimate zone control and year round comfort. I wouldn’t think of using any other HVAC company. Perri-Aire has earned our highest recommendation. Thanks for almost 3 decades of great service.
