Please be warned: do not use Norcal Mechanical for your HVAC needs or use at your own risk by knowing the following. I had a terrible experience with them when they were booked through my Home Warranty for an AC tune-up. They washed the coils and added refrigerant, which is a standard part of a tune-up and included in my Home Warranty contract. However, a few days later, I received a call from Norcal Mechanical, claiming that they had added more refrigerant than necessary and demanding that I pay more. They said they had added 7 pounds when they should have only added 2 pounds. They gave me an ultimatum: either schedule another service call and have my warranty company pay an extra $80 (which would be charged to me), or they would bill me $500. This is a clear case of a scam and an attempt to take advantage of customers. I contacted my Home Warranty provider right away. While waiting on the line, the provider contacted Norcal, and within minutes, Norcal confirmed that the issue had been resolved. However, I couldn't help but wonder if this was a common occurrence for Norcal, and if they had hoped to receive additional compensation by threatening clients with higher bills It is possible that Norcal Mechanical has engaged in this type of behavior before, and I would strongly caution anyone against using their services or at least be aware of follow up calls. I was shocked and disappointed that a company that is supposed to provide reliable and trustworthy service would engage in such shady practices. I am writing this review to warn others about my experience with Norcal Mechanical. The whole point of using a Home Warranty is to avoid having to deal with dishonest companies like Norcal Mechanical. Please stay away from them and find a more reputable company to handle your HVAC needs. I rarely write reviews, but this was one of the shadiest scams I have ever seen. I even have security cameras in my backyard, so they can't claim they did more services or extra work
Whoever I talked to was rude and unhelpful. If I could give negative stars I would. Save your money, especially if your a military veteran. They have no respect
