Great service, fair prices & always reliable. We have used them for years for a reason!!! Use them once and you will agree, they are the one and only place to call.
Been their contracted customer over ten years. Called 3 times to tell them about the guy who arrived angry, did nothing, did not even take the cover off the unit,. No one ever returned my call. i've never seen a home service person from anywhere act so bizarre. How nice their business is so good it can afford to blow off customers.
We have had a terrible experience for the past 3 years with this company and in particular, it's owner, Don. He installed a new system with 2 zones in our new construction home. We've had to have him back at least 10 times because of problems since the time of installation. Scheduling with him is very difficult. I've had to call at least 3-5 times and leave messages each time. He's been late. He's not shown up. He's not called back. We are having issues again and Don has just stopped responding all together. The secretary was apologizing on the phone to me. I told her this is a bad look for him and the company - to do work that isn't good and then not try to fix it but rather just ignore the calls. We're done with Don and this company and are now going to pay a new company to come fix his mistakes.
Newtown Heating and Air owner, Don Schaffer, was very responsive and professional. He identified ice damage to my outside AC unit, which I didn't even realize had occurred, and helped with my successful insurance claim. Afterwards, he installed a new AC unit and performed the job on time and as promised.
Responsive. Professional. Fair prices. This company has my confidence.
I just had Newtown Heating and Air Conditioning perform a complete replacement of my 22 year old, 2 zone HVAC systems (2 furnaces and 2 AC units). They offered the lowest price, were incredibly responsive, and offered an install window within a few weeks which worked really well for us. They spent 2 days in my home, made sure I understood how to operate everything, left the work area cleaner than when they found it, and were courteous and professional. The owner gave me his cell # and told me to call him with any questions or concerns. I couldn't be happier with the experience and would gladly use them again.
We first discovered Newtown Heating and Air several years ago after a closer-by contractor told us our boiler could not be repaired. I called Newtown Heating for a second opinion. At that time, Newtown Heating owner Don restored the unit to full working order by replacing a small section of damaged pipe near the air eliminator. So this season, when our upstairs heat wouldn't come on, we called Newtown again. This time, Don bled the system and restored our upstairs zone in about an hour without replacing expensive parts or spending an inordinate amount of time doing the maintenance. Once again, Newtown Heating came through for us by providing fair, honest service and pricing. I highly recommend Newtown Heating to any homeowner in the Greater Philadelphia region who appreciates the value of a skilled contractor who plays it straight.
Generator installed on-time, and on budget. Everything works as it should. No complaints! What more could one ask for?
Don and his crew installed a whole-house Generac generator for us. They did a great job, very clean and neat installation. The generator has been flawless, through many power outages, with several lasting more than 24 hours. Don also came out and replaced a bad capacitor on one of our AC compressor units. It was a brutally hot day - AC was back up and running in less than 24 hours after the first phone call. Great service! Have recommended Don to 3 friends, who each had a whole house generator installed by Newtown Heating and Air Conditioning. All are completely satisfied with their investment. Highly recommended!
Newtown installed a Trane air Conditioning system and a Generac Generator at our residence, every step through the process from the estimate to the local permit to the installation the team was professional and efficient. I would def, refer them in the future.
Run, do not walk away, from this business. The absolute worst on every level! You have been warned.
Called and was told that the service person would be out between 2 and 4 pm on the same day. He never showed and never called. I called and confirmed each day for four straight days and the same thing happened. The service person never showed and never called. If I could give a zero star rating, I would

Great Service ... We called Tuesday afternoon and they were there Wednesday first thing. Always friendly and helpful on the phone. WIll use Newtown for all our heating and cooling needs. Recommend to all family and friends.
They did our install for our AC and our tank-less water heater 12 years ago. We always used them for any issues we had, and we had quite a few the first few years, which should not have been the case with a brand new Trane AC/Heater. I had an apt for maintenance on our water heater, they called and rescheduled it due to emergency calls. Understandable. The new day they scheduled it for, no one showed up. After the two hour window had almost passed, I called the company twice and left messages asking where the technician is. No one bothered to call us back that day or next day, or any other day to explain why they didn't show up. Unacceptable! After this incident we decided to move on and called a new company. So far we are happy with the new company.
Donald E. Schaeffer Jr.’s last statement to the Generac Resolutions Specialist and me was “…Newtown HVAC rejects any wrong doing in this matter.” My generator stopped functioning and I hired a certified Generic dealer who prepared the report which includes attachments. Both gas line and electric wiring needs to be removed and re-done and the estimate is approximately $10,000. Newton HVAC is NOT a Generic dealer. This situation remains unresolved.
Newtown Heating and Air installed a new condenser and A coil and it got done in one day works great. Also they are working with the insurance to recoop our loss as a result of the break down.
I have had them install at least 6 complete units in the past five years. The last unit was I had installed was approximately two years ago. This unit has not been working for the past year, after several calls where the technician failed to show up. I system was zoned and wired incorrectly, which resulted in board failure. The replacement cost was over $1,100.00 by another company. As a result of the Newtown Tech jumping the board to get partial operation he shorted out another thermostat. They failed to show up for 4 appointments. I cannot give this company a recommendation due to lack of customer support.
Given an 8-10 window the tech showed up at 8:30 and promptly found the problem and started on the repair. I was distracted trying to get my girls off to school and he made sure that I knew where he was in the repair and the status while he worked. Since my compressor was constantly running I should recoup the cost of the repair in a month or two. I'd recommend them
