This guy just wants money. Will come to check the gas in the condenser come out with $300. I'm sure he caused some of the problems because he needs cash, like ppl have cash laying around. So many times came for money for this I'm now sure he did on purpose. He did the same to friend told him have no one to go get money from bank. Than disappeared. Even tho i paid him contact for the year he never came back never finished my friend's work. Already reported to BBB.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Similar experience to what others have reported here and elsewhere: insisted on cash payments upfront, purchased parts that were uninstalled or unnecessary or simply undelivered and kept making excuses for not finishing up the job despite us having signed up for an "annual service contract". Impossible to get in touch with anyone at the company. We've reported this to the NYC Consumer Affairs Dept and encourage others to do the same. We had to hire a second company to fix the mess left behind. Just shameful and unethical behavior. UPDATE: Mike just posted a response to this review. The response is a lie. Mike, I urge you to make the same claims in an affidavit and send it to me.
Very happy with my ac unit n the price the Technician has gave me he was on time n did very nice work n cleaned up after himself . When he gave me date n time he was coming to do the work there was no problems very happy with this company

I want to Thank Mike for Fixing my Heat and AC System. He came on Time, was Very Professional, Great Service Skills, Told me what the problem was and did a Terrific Job. I feel better again in my own apartment again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mike Fairlie. He does an Amazing Job, He gives a Reasonable Price. He is well Respected by Me and Others. The guy showed up late. But it’s not a big issue. Overcharged us on the charging of our unit. But even that is not an issue. He managed to push 8lb of gas into our unit, overcharging it almost double. Apparently unit’s pressure must be measured while coils are dry, and this guy did it right after washing it. So he either wanted to sell me more gas or didn’t know what he was doing. Had to call another company to come and fix his mess, so it works somewhat, and now I need to change the whole unit! Didn’t accept Credit Card, so now I can’t even do a chargeback.
Mike is a patient, reliable and well informed service provider. He arrived promptly, thoroughly investigated the issue and fixed it quickly. He took the time to explain more to me about my system and how to keep it in good shape. I will never use another company for my AC/Heating system repairs.
I very rarely post reviews for companies, but in this case, I felt I must. My central air works great, but then we had those few really cold days and nights recently. I went to switch to heat but it wouldn't come on. I heard about M & J Mechanical from a friend and gave a call. I spoke to Mike, the owner and he promised he would be at my house in less than an hour. 35 minutes later he arrived & checked my new thermostat, a Nest, which had been installed only months earlier by another company. He saw the problem in less than 5 minutes and 15 mins later, my heat came on! I intend to have a contract with M & J for my central air and heating system. With service like this, I feel confident that we will be toasty warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
I had my furnace replaced .The work was done very professional and neat .The price was very reasonable compared to the four other estimates that I got from other companies. I would highly recommend this company to family and friends .It was great that I was able to pay for the job by credit card .
