I have to give a shout out to Doug Peery of Mills River Mechanical & his lead technician, James, for their herculean efforts to track down an elusive leak in our HVAC system. The system is relatively new, so replacing it was pretty much the option of last resort. Over several months, multiple visits & frustration for them & us at not being able to find it manually, they were eventually able to pinpoint the leak by injecting a dye pack into the system until it revealed itself. Once located, they were able to source the parts we needed & make the necessary repairs, at a reduced rate because of the length of time, hassle & previous expense involved to finally get it figured out & fixed. It's rare to find people with the amount of persistence, dedication & integrity that they demonstrated through the whole process. We are forever grateful & would highly recommend their services to anyone, without hesitation.
I couldn't have asked for more from Mills River Mechanical. They responded to my situation immediately, diagnosed the problem with my furnace, returned with the necessary replacement parts, and had everything working within an hour for a very reasonable price. Needless to say, I was very pleased and highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent service or repair at a very reasonable price.

Doug came to our house and in just minutes he fixed our system. He rapidly found the problem that others before him did not. He is a very fine person, professional, and kind. We definitely are hiring him and his company whenever we'll need it. Highly recommended.

My experience with Mills River Mechanical is that Doug is a first-rate HVAC professional and extremely knowledgeable, especially with my situation. My house doesn’t have any ducts, so Doug and his team installed a wonderful set of ductless mini-split units and zones throughout my house which can cool, heat and dehumidify each room separately. The units work great and now I don’t have constant high humidity in the house, especially since I live under a dozen oak trees. Doug was extremely professional and knew exactly how to get this done with care and at a reasonable cost considering all aspects of adding air conditioning to my house. I am very grateful for all his hard work and prompt response to every question I had.
Mom’s furnace was not working. Her ‘normal’ HVAC company came out (the next day) and looked at it. Told her to run it on emergency heat and they would get a part ordered. Important note: this is the Tuesday / Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Part would be there Monday. This was the last straw of frustration with her ‘normal’ HVAC company. They were never responsive, always had to order parts, had to get a manufacturer involved with an install of a new AC unit a couple of months ago. So I called about 15 HVAC companies, completely understanding it was a long shot. Mills River actually answered. Remember: this is the afternoon of the day before Thanksgiving. I lay the story out and The person in the office says ‘let me call the techs and see what we can do’. Alright. Awesome. They call back and worked out getting out there TODAY. Come to find out there was nothing wrong with the furnace. Said it needed new pressure seals but the reason no heat: heat pump unplugged. My mother is a bit older, we lost my Dad a couple months ago. He always handled this stuff for her. The ‘normal’ HVAC company was always difficult to deal with. She gets frustrated leaning this stuff but tries her best. They never explained anything even though she tried. The tech from Mills River was amazing. On top of showing up day before Thanksgiving, he was patient, professional, friendly, and actually talked to my mom. She said he was the most pleasant person she has ever dealt with. So ‘normal’ HVAC company - see ya. There is a new normal in town. And to be honest normal is not accurate: life long client meets over the top / exceptional company.
Doug came over on a Friday evening. He came over the same day he was contacted. I had a different business try to tell me that my HVAC unit needed entirely replaced which would have costed a fortune. Doug came and found the problem quickly and worked very thoroughly and efficiently to fix it. Very nice and knew what he was doing. I highly recommend!!

Doug got my AC going just in time for a heat wave. Showed up when he said he would and completed the repair on schedule. He didn't try to talk me into replacing my entire system even tho it's pretty old. It still runs hot and cold, just needed a new blower motor which he ordered and installed. Fair price for both the motor and labor. Also gave me some maintenance tips to improve efficiency. Hopefully I can squeeze a few more years out of the system.
Doug is a serious professional who provides an excellent service. We switched from a local big name company who were slow, disinterested and truly mediocre. We are much happier with Doug and you will be also.

Doug was the most honest heating and cooling guy I have met . He located the problem told me where to get the parts offered to talk me through it if I needed help just so I can get it done at a better price and get the heat on for my mom sooner . Calling on a service company when desperation to have heat or air sets in due to mechanical failure is not the time to worry about wether or not that company can preform. Well, I am here to tell you that there is no need to worry with Mills River Mechanical, or Doug Peery. He exceeding my expectations in every category and proved there is still good, honest guys in the industry. Me and my family are grateful for the late hours on the Sunday night you spent taking care of us! We have our permanent HVAC guy now.
Doug came out and fixed my central air after I had a leak coming through my ceiling and I couldn’t be more pleased. Excellent service and a very fair price! I can’t recommend him enough and am so relieved that I found someone I feel like I can trust when it comes to handling any repairs/routine maintenance that I might need in the future.
