Mill’s A/C is honest, reliable, with fair prices. Without warning my a/c quit working. I was sure the repair, no matter how small would cost an arm and a leg because it was summer. Trying to save money, I thought I could weather the rest of summer using ceiling fans. I’d wait to do the repair in fall when it’s cheaper, right? Bad idea!!! I called Mills when my family decided they couldn’t stand the heat or me any longer 😉. Mills technicians came on time, diagnosed the problem, purchased the part, installed it, all in the same day. HAPPY 😊 FAMILY again …at least until I start limiting showers to 3 minute. The only thing as outrageously expensive as gas, is water in So Cal.

Excellent service, honest, and friendly. For three generations, my family has chosen Mills Air Conditioning for service and cooling needs. A couple years ago, we tried calling an electrician from the yellow pages, and were suspicious of their claims. We contacted Mills Air Conditioning and asked if they knew any electricians, and they referred us to Champion Electric; they confirmed our suspicians and saved us thousands of dollars. I strongly recommend Mills Air Conditioning to anyone looking for honest, trustworthy service.

We decided to go with Mills AC for assessment on our broken central AC system instead of a larger company to support local business during the COVID crisis. The receptionist informed us the assessment would cost 99 USD. Our AC was leaking refrigerant and we had no idea as to why. When the techs showed, they spent two hours checking out our system and recommended that we replace the filter and refrigerant (which would cost more than 1,000 USD) but clarified that this would not guarantee that the air conditioner would work - ultimately they were unable to provide us with clear next steps on what to do to get the A/C repaired. On top of that, we were charged 99 USD *per hour* for the assessment itself - meaning we paid close to 200 USD for no solution at all. While I understand that some AC systems are tricky and that there can be cases in which a specific fix or detection of the problem can be hard to come by, what I'm ultimately disappointed by is the fact that AFTER the assessment was concluded, they left the furnace door hanging and had also left the coils loosened (photos attached). This was made evident to us by the next vendor we called, who was ultimately able to diagnose the issue and recommend a solution. Overall, I am disappointed that a) I paid 200 USD for no solution whatsoever and b) that the company did not have sufficient enough professionalism to clean up after themselves after the assessment was concluded, even though we paid in full for it. I would be wary about contacting this company for AC issues ever again. We were also told by the next vendor that 99 USD per hour for assessment charges was relatively VERY high compared to other companies. The sad lesson learned here was that we could not count on this "mom and pop shop" to provide us with honest, quality work - in our attempts to support these types of business over the larger, more established ones.

If they had fixed the problem, I wouldn't mind how rude they were. I first had tried to fix the problem myself...failed. Mills AC sent two techs on separate trips, both of whom thought that it was okay to lecture about me to my wife. Okay, I didn't fix it, now I'm paying you to... so just do it. I'm not interested in your opinion, just a working air conditioning. Except they didn't fix it after two trips from the "professionals"...although it still cost me over $300. Trip 1: 9/17/2019 Guy #1 $208 Changed Transformer, left me wire to replace existing thermostat wire, thanks for that. Rude lecture to my wife about my first attempt to wire. Trip 2: 9/24/2019 Guy #2 NO COST, but no fix either. Another rude lecture to my wife. Complained about a system that was disassembled, but didn't reassemble it.... Would have bee happier to pay for a real repair Trip 3: 9/25/2019 Guy #1 again $99 Fixed backward running fan....but why didn't Guy #2 see that... and more lecture.. Trip #4: 9/26/2019 Cancelled because they wanted another $400. The receptionist is awesome though, very sweet.

Had issues with my AC not being able to blow cool air, decided to give these guys a try through a reference. I was glad I did, Clark stopped by and was very professional about the whole process, in the end, he was able to deduce that the thermostat was defective, which was causing the cooling side to short out. Since my thermostat was a Smart product I had to go return it to BestBuy and install it again. Upon doing so the power fuse had blown, Clark came right back out to ensure everything was 100% for us! Couldn't be happier with the professionalism and service from Mills, will definitely recommend to anyone with AC/HVAC needs.

My AC compressor quit... it was almost 30 years old so not a shocker. Called Clark Mills and he came out and replaced my outdoor condenser unit. $3500 for a 4ton unit installed. I had considered replacing everything... blower, heater, etc because of the rebates involved when you do that. After a short conversation (with Clark admitting he's a bit old school in his thinking) I decided to save the money and just replace the condenser. In a nutshell, he said the more efficient units are not nearly as reliable. In the long run with the extra maintenence and repairs, they really won't save that much.

Not a happy camper. Purchased York 15 SEER A/C and heater combo in 2007 from Mills. Unit was never installed correctly. Cost me thousands in parts, refrigerant, labor and extra electricity to solve non existent problems. Incorrect air filter was installed cutting units capability by 20%. Finally determined unit was low on refrigerant. Added 5 lbs of $50/lb R410a. Unit worked great until leak let out all refrigerant. Looking for another repair person. This company can handle old units but stay away from newer high efficiency ones.
