I would give zero stars if it was possible!! Made an appointment because we had water leaking through the ceiling - went into the attic, located it was coming from the AC coils area and called for help. Rick came out quickly. Upon entering the attic he found fault with our quiet cool set up and drain pipes leading from coils. Then speculated someone bumped the pipe and cracked the pipe at coil fitting (never checked this). Checked the pipes for a clog, found one drain to be somewhat clogged and blew it out but recommended we reach out to a plumber. He did not unscrew the 6 screws to check the drain pan and did not test the system. $195 for his labor and parts. Tried to run AC again in the evening and water started draining again from a new place. After speaking with him on the phone he seemed happy with the work he completed. He did offer to come out again for no charge but said if it was the drain pan it couldn't be replaced and if it was the coils it would be expensive. I opted to not have him back, called another local company, explained the problem. They immediately went into the attic, unscrewed the 6 screws and located a large crack in the drain pan. Problem successfully diagnosed in less than 10 min. I would NEVER recommend this company and feel the $195 charge is a rip off. HVAC is expensive but being charged for mediocre work is more expensive!
Koch Heating & Air is a family business we have used for decades because Rick is that good! He knows his stuff. The fan on our condenser unit (outside) wasn't spinning. Google & I correctly diagnosed it as needing a capacitor, but best to have a pro do the work. Rick saw that the capacitor was slightly bulging, but tested it to make sure that was the problem. He fixed in in short order and the service charge was very reasonable for a quality, professional repair. I highly recommend calling Rick Koch for your HVAC needs!

Shelly and Rick are amazing! A/C went out last night with a 110° heat wave coming. Our landlord called them in the morning, Rick was out by 1:00 and had air working again by 2:30. That was with a trip to grab a new motor. HIGHLY recommend them, friendly, profeasional, and extremely efficient.
I have been A faithful customer since 2008 when I first moved to the Temecula area. Rick fixed my outside AC unit when rodents had eaten the wires. He walked me through the details of the job and his quote was fair. He also did a quick repair a few years ago, and my AC has been running like a champ, even in this awful heat. A few days ago my mom had a repair done by another company and the repair held for less than 24 hours, they gave her a quote for a new motor and a cleaning... I thought the quote was too high. I called Koch and Rick came out and replaced the motor and performed a cleaning and he did it for half the cost the other company quoted. I highly recommend Koch if you want an honest and ethical company. On top of all that Rick and Shelly are very nice and friendly people!
