In the past 19 years, John has installed a central air unit, fixed a broken thermostat, fixed a broken furnace part on a below zero freezing cold weekend, maintenanced my HVAC system, installed new central AC and furnace at my new house, fixed my hot water tank that the plumber said needed to be replaced (two years later, it’s still working), and more. He’s the ONLY guy I call because I know he will be prompt, knowledgeable, and his rates can’t be beat. I also like that I’m supporting a small family-owned and operated business.
After I came home from work I discovered that our heater wasn’t working and typical troubleshooting wasn’t helping. With it being after 5 pm I didn’t think there was any chance to have it fixed that day; however, I left a message and John got back to me within an hour to schedule a visit later that evening. I was amazed at his quick response time. He was very knowledgeable and fixed it in under an hour. He charged a very reasonable price especially with it being a same-day, evening appointment. We will definitely use John again when needed and would recommend him to all!
Called John for non working furnace at 12:30, furnace was fixed and operationalby by4:30. Great service, fast friendly and fair.

John went above and beyond to get our furnace fixed on Christmas Eve. The furnace died and I called their 24/7 emergency service and got quick responses for it being Christmas eve. I’d highly recommend Mullens to anyone looking for their services.
After multiple HVAC service providers had provided to solution to our problem, I was told I would need a whole new furnace and duct work. I had simply called Mullen to get a quote, but Mullen showed up and fixed the problem we were having with our furnace in under an hour. We are so thankful for the quick and professional service! Very affordable prices and personable as well. 10/10 will recommend and use again in the future!

Called to schedule a furnace check and emergency repair during the late fall as the first freeze was looming and my heat was out. That's obviously a busy time for furnace techs, but these guys went above and beyond. Took the job on very short notice and stayed late on a friday night to make sure everything was good to go. I didn't have heat and they could have tried to gouge me, but the rate was very reasonable. Nice professional people. definitely who I'll be calling for future HVAC stuff

John was super helpful in helping me replace my furnace's draft inducer motor and blower. It started vibrating really badly when it would turn on - easy enough for me to diagnose myself. He did some shopping for the new part and was surprised at how expensive it was at his supply houses ($300-$400!). I did a little digging and managed to find it online for $115 - and he encouraged me to get it myself and he'd install it. He only charged me $100 in labor, and no other hidden fees. Amazing! He came earlier than our scheduled date and got it installed in no time! We also discussed some potential improvements for noise reduction, better airflow to my kitchen and third floor, pros/cons of heat pump upgrade, etc. Really appreciate his time and knowledge, and that he looked out for the expenses on my behalf.
Our heat went out on a cold weekend evening. John was able to come out and have our heat back on within a couple of hours from the initial call. He quickly diagnosed the worn-out part and the cost was significantly lower than expected. Honest, friendly, respectful of our home, definitely deserves five stars. UPDATE: Our A/C decided to stop cooling a year later during hot weather. John was again very fast to respond, had a very reasonable quote, and ended up making some minor repairs, upgrades, and cleaning parts of the system for no charge.

There is no one more reliable than John Mullen. No matter when I have called, he personally answers his phone, and arranges to take care of my issue. John's fees are more than reasonable and his work is extraordinary. I highly recommend John Mullen Home Repair. August 2021 The last review I left was over 3 years ago and it appears I am unable to leave additional reviews as I continue to use the services of John Mullen; therefore I can only add by an edit. I can not say enough about the quality of work, exemplary service, punctuality and professional behavior of John Mullen. I have had emergencies with my furnace and recently with my AC, and Mr Mullen fit me in at the end of his day on his way home. The quality of his work and his knowledge of HVAC cannot be beat. And beyond that, his prices are more than fair. He immediately recognizes the problem and just as quickly he resolves it. I am grateful that I know that I can count on John Mullen for all of my HVAC needs.
John was great! He sent a tech out the next day which was a Friday and met me after work. The work took longer than expected but they stayed until it was fixed which was until 9 pm that night. They also went out and got us new filters and came back the same night to install them. John was personable, knowledgeable, and great. I will definitely use his service again!
Did a great job for a minor repair on my A/C. The price he charged me, most people charge that to just show up on your door step and he went above and beyond to get my unit kicking again. Will recommend!

I had called about getting a bullet natural gas heater hooked up and the first appt not one showed up, aftwr calling a second time and waitok ng for an appt i didget a guy to show up he informed me some pricing for parts would be needed and he would get back to me the followinf and onday and never has..
John and his team are absolutely wonderful. They always call ahead and are on time and when they arrive, they're very kind. Each time John comes to help with something, he explains up front exactly what I can expect and about how much money it's going to cost. We've never had an issue with anything he's fixed around our house. I highly recommend his services.
It is nice to know there are still reliable & honest companies in existence. Mr. Mullen responded to our call promptly and with sincere concern to fix our furnace. Not to mention it was a late night emergency call, fortunately for his awesome response time, we enjoyed a warm night during freezing temperatures without worry of freezing pipes also. His rate, to our surprise, was more than reasonable. True blessing in a time of need!
