We got a new furnace and AC unit from JL. They were prompt and did great work. The pricing was good and easy to understand. We liked how they explained not only the technical features, but also how those would keep our house comfy all year. They also helped set up all the documentation for rebates from the gas and electric companies, which we didn't know about. The rebate incentives were a nice surprise. Thanks!
We’ve had JL Mechanical come for a few years to fix our heater and a/c. A month ago they put in a new set My kids have used them and we all agree- there is no one better than James and his guys!
James was awesome. Responsive and very professional and he knows his stuff. He has completed two jobs for me. He replaced my AC Unit and also repaired my furnace. I’ll keep calling JL every time. I don’t need to call anyone else because I know I’m going to get the job done right and at a good value.

JL does work for American Home Shield - been waiting 3 days with multiple messages in 90 degree heat with three children in the home for a simple call back? Won't even call back to confirm they will meet their obligations with American Home Shield to fix my A/C unit?? Doesn't even return the call??? Won't answer the phone??? How un-professional - Terrible customer service!!!! Why do work for another company when you can't even get a return call!! I highly recommend you DO NOT use JL!!!
We have used James 3 times and will continue to use him. He is such a nice guy and very professional. He really knows his stuff. The first time we used him our heater stopped working on Christmas Eve. He came within an hour of calling him and had it up and running really fast. He is very honest and didn’t try to sell us anything we didn’t need. Because of his excellent service we called him again in the Spring and had him upgrade the whole system. It works so great, and is way more quiet. He was meticulous with his work and left everything immaculate. In the summer our Father had a health emergency and during this his AC wasn’t working. James was able to come and get a new system installed and helped make sure our Dad stayed comfortable. He even rerouted some ducting to make it cool the most used room better. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for some HVAC work.
Professional, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced
We recently decided to get AC (after a decade of only having a Swamp cooler in the summer.). We got multiple quotes from various companies, James showed up on time, inspected our current set up very thoroughly, and outlined our options with zero pressure. He clearly wanted us to understand our options, the price and mechanical differences between them, and what we could expect out of each. His information actually helped us as we navigated the quote process with other companies. The actual install was an hour or so faster than his estimated average time. As I am working from home due to Covid guidelines, he was very conscientious of the noise an install requires, and made sure we were informed and could make accomodations so that the install didn't interfere. We were extremely happy with the whole process and would absolutely recommend JL Mechanical to anyone needing HVAC work.
I got several bids and James not only gave me a good bid., he also explained each system I was getting. He was knowledgeable and cared that I understood. They installed both the A/C and furnace. When they left everything was clean like they had never been there. They even put a tarp across the kitchen floor to walk over while they were working.
Very happy with the work performed by James and his crew. We had a few bids to install the air ducts for our basement, but James' ideas for how to complete the work in limited spaces were much better than the others, and at a slightly better price at that. Great work at a fair price with friendly service, not much more you can ask for. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend JL Mechanical! Our furnace went out during a cold spell just before Christmas and James responded quickly with options and an affordable recommendation. The JL team had the new system (furnace and AC) up the next day and saved us from another night with nothing but a space heater to keep from freezing. To top it off, they installed our smart thermostat so we don't even have to get out of bed to crank up the heat or AC. Call JL. The do great work and understand old school customer service. JL troubleshot my 22 year old American Standard A/C system and within 15 minutes knew what to do. Good system, it was just undercharged. Added four lbs of freon, system is now just as fierce as when we built it. We stress tested it when it was 103 outside, got the whole house down to 66 degrees before we cried uncle! JL explained everything that was going on with the thermal expansion valve and our system as he charged it. He is an old school charts and cross testing guy and I LOVE THIS. He absolutely gets me and KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING! Thank you JL Mechanical you are our HVAC guys and more.
Honestly shared information that made our decision process go smoothly. Answered all of our questions and addressed any concerns. Reasonable costs and efficient, thorough work. Even sprayed for spiders in our crawl space and checked all heat ducts for any repair needed.
They did great work and are very reasonably priced. James is very knowledgeable when it comes to HVAC systems and makes an effort to explain in more detail if you show interest. His work was clean and he was pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend him and I plan to reach out to him in the future as my various units that are getting old need replacement.

James installed one furnace and 2 Nest thermostats. He rebuilt the duct work in my furnace room which made my furnace at least 50% more efficient and tripled our storage space. He also noticed that my chimney (vent for the hot water heater) was not lined and therefore not acting appropriately as a vent. I had three other companies out in addition to JL and I chose JL because James noticed things and asked questions that the other companies did not. He was so knowledgeable and thoughtful I just trusted him more. He also offered the best price.
