Raymond was the technician that came out to service my HVAC and he was EXTREMELY professional, helpful, courteous AND answered ALL of my questions AND even gave me answers to questions I didn't even know to ask. My experience was great and if I should need any help in the future with any of the available services this company offers, I will definitely choose Intrastate Energy controls!! Thank you to Raymond and Juan.

The technicians do not provide a thorough review of the problem. I had to basically tell them to double check things in the attic for an AC unit when that should really be part of their checklist. Look for someone else because you will just waste your time and money.

Contractor for home warranty company (AHS) that is non responsive and gives misinformation to the warranty company so they can bill and get paid regardless if a service was provided

Jaime and his crew fully replaced my HVAC and furnace. They got the job done quickly, professionally and went above and beyond what I would have expected from the job. This was all at a fair price. My family and I are very pleased with our new system--a few months out and it's working flawlessly, so much better than the old one. Jaime was incredibly knowledgeable about the benefits or downfalls of the particular different systems we could have chosen from. Would highly recommend this company if you have any AC or heating issues in the San Antonio area!

I don't have enough kind words to say about my experience with Intrastate. They texted me immediately after I submitted my work order with American Home Shield and said they could be out the next morning. They were precise within the minute and fixed the problem in under 30 minutes. Our ac was up and running, which is crucial in the middle of summer! I wouldn't hesitate to contact Intrastate if the need arose.

I asked Micheal a question about a house we are purchasing that his company serviced. Micheal was so kind and attentive. He answered all of my questions and concerns and spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me just telling me about his experience and advice (as my husband and I are first time home buyers). We were able to make a more informed decision because of his time and kindness. Thank you so much Micheal!

We had a system failure at our new-to-us home on Wednesday 10/16/19 and the team at IEC had everything expedited and completed on 10/18/19. Company was able to get parts moved ahead of a forecasted warmer weekend and make it out early in the day to finalize everything. Technicians were very thorough in answering my questions and AHS did a great job, selecting this company to represent their insured clients was a smart move on their part. Thanks again, will recommend and use this teams services for future needs at our properties.

Reading the reviews, I feel this company is getting a lot of negative reviews due to home warranty coverage issues. I had AHS and was referred to Intrastate Energy for a work order on one of my A/C units. The were quick to respond to my work order and they sent a technician out to my home the same day. They informed me what AHS would cover and what my out-of-pocket expenses would be. They broke down the issues with the A/C and what parts were needed. When it was all said and done, my out of pocket expenses were a lot cheaper than there original quote. I even had secondary quotes and opinions from other HVAC companies that were much higher. If they were trying to rip me off, they could have stayed at the original estimated cost. I recently used them again (not using AHS) and they were quick to respond and diagnose the issue with a reasonable cost. Thanks Intrastate Energy!

I was very impressed with the way Intrastate Energy Controls handled my AHS claim. They came out the next day diagnosed the problem and explained the process. Yes, it did take a few days to allow the testing of equipment in order to have the needed information to process the claim, but as soon as the test was over I was notified and AHS called to authorize repairs. The techs came to the house and got right to work and we had AC in about an hour. Thank you Jamie for keeping an eye on my claim start to finish.

First time uses this company 3 yrs ago, I would have given 5 stars, they replaced my outside unit, all was great with the world. They come out w this week because my house isn't cooling. The techs were wonderful, I recognized one from 3 yrs ago My inside unit needs to be replaced. I knew it was coming, was told this for 5 yrs. I call AHS about what my out of pocket cost would be, they tell me to contact contractor. I contact contractor, who tells me AHS is suppose to get a hold of me. Whatever. I just want the price, it's summer in TX. I'm told $2505 for modifications. What the what. Ok. I call AHM get line item break down od what cost it, I understand there's going to be an up charge, but again What the What. $87 for permit, but they are charging me $150 for process it and possible second visit if Inspector comes out, so almost 50% increase. I do my diligence and research and ask questions from a friend who has an AC company and friend who recently had his done, same neighborhood, floor plan, old unit, he pd close to $800. So I mention to Michael that I'm waiting for a call from AHS, I wanted to know if I can put in a second opinion, would effect anything with have AC work done. I mention i felt fees are high, float switch is $20, they are charging $195, I'm sure he will say Increase is for labor. Filter base, roughly $50, but he was going to charge $195. $325 for Armor flex, which I was told it comes with unit, not sure, still trying to verify that piece. Any ways, Michael txt me about how AHS doesn't do second opinions on Non Covered items, and why i I felt like I should pay less than what he would charge AHM, how I should get a better plan w AHS to cover the non covered items, and maybe I should do a cash out and have my AC friend do the work, and maybe he can finance the work. Mind you I told someone on the phone a day prior that I didn't have the $2500 to do work, asked if they take payments or finance, they don't, i understand why. I also told the

Competence, Cost effective and Communication are attributes I appreciate when doing business with a service company. This company came out on Memorial Day within an hour or so of the time I called. They fixed my 10 year old unit without any issues at all. The tech was friendly and did exactly what he said he would do at the rate quoted. I’m pleased.

I have AHS and when you place a service request you can’t choose the business that receives your request. I’m not a fan of this as I’d like control over who works on my home appliances and systems. I placed the request and after being notified of the company I immediately try to look them up on Angie’s List. Nope, they are not listed. So I Google them. Just great, 2.0 out of 5. Read most of the reviews and it didn’t look good. I have been working on trying to give people the benefit of the doubt so when they showed up I acted like I never read those reviews. The two techs were courteous and conducted themselves professionally. Hmmm, good start. So they asked what was going on with my AC system. I let them know a leak had been identified a couple of years ago and I have to get the system topped off every year with about 2-3 pounds of refrigerant. So they checked out the system and believed the best course of action in this case was to try a sealant and then top it off. They explained AHS only covers $10 a pound (really AHS?) and I’d have to foot the bill for the remaking $45 a pound. They put in 2 and stated they would come back in a month to check if it was still cooling. Guys were great at explain everything and made me feel comfortable with having them work on the system. Bottom line, give people a chance. Good job guys, keep up the good work.

Just because the kind soul (complete sarcasm) that answers the phones thinks he can get defensive over the phone and at every negative review...there’s a reason why you’re at a 2.1 rating. You need a lesson or two in customer service. I’m glad you spoke to the other home owner because I wouldn’t have taken kindly to being called a liar. Then you have the audacity to ask my spouse if the wants to call your dispatcher a liar...really?? I mean because we really have nothing better to do with our time and yours. It’s amazing how my spouse knew what the possible reasons for a “bad installation” were. I sure hope you never get called a liar or have to experience the treatment you’ve given some of your previous customers based on their reviews.

Intrastate came out to diagnose an issue with my heating/cooling. The diagnosis was that the compressor went out and either the whole unit should be replaced or the compressor be replaced. Both options were presented to my home warranty company. The home warranty company elects to only replace the compressor. I re-contact Intrastate and inform them that the compressor was just recently replaced in 2015 and I'm concerned there may be something wrong with the unit, as a compressor should last more than 3 years. They put the dispatch technician on the phone and I ask him his opinion. He stated that the unit looked fine. I followed up by asking, why he thought the compressor had to be replaced since it was just recently replaced. He gave me the process of what goes on during a compressor replacement and says he believes the process was not followed correctly because of the acid build up (or whatever his explanation was). I ask if they passed that information to the home warranty and they stated no. I asked them specifically what do I need to do to get that information to the home warranty and they said just have them call us. I re-contacted my home warranty because I did not feel I should have to pay the cost of refrigerant (not covered as part of the compressor repair) since it was explained to me that the original repair most likely caused the pre-mature death of the replacment compressor. The home warranty company researched my account and found that the compressor was replaced in 2015 by.....INTRASTATE. She attempted to contact them and left a voice mail and e-mail. I re-contacted Instrastate and their original explanation to me CHANGED and they stated they never said anything I told the home warranty company. If they didn't tell me that, then WHY did I contact my home warranty with their explanation. Why did I even contact them in the first place. The person answering the phone said he heard the entire conversation and something about oil (never mentioned on the
