Fire & Ice was the only HVAC company that worked with First American Home Warranty in my area. My home AC started blowing warm air because the compressor wouldn't start. Fire & Ice came out and put a hard start on the compressor and added coolant, which got the thing to turn on. It seemed to work okay for a day or two, then it would randomly start blowing warm air. We told First American this and they finally got Fire & Ice to come out once more. They decided that the whole unit needed to be replaced, however, First American needed more information and tried to contact them but were unable to. Fire & Ice also stopped responding to my text or phone calls. Eventually First American told us to get an outside contractor to look at it, so we called Comfort Now. They came out and quickly diagnosed the issue, which was a bad capacitor and an overcharged system. An overcharged system!? Yup, while Fire & Ice added the hard start, which got the compressor going, they overcharged the system which can cause permanent damage. Long story short, the guys at Fire & Ice were friendly enough, but didn't fix my issue and may have caused long term damage to my HVAC unit.

My air-conditioning wasn’t blowing cold air so like called my insurance company and my insurance company sent these guys came out three times on the first two times they said it was fixed and left as fast as possible I’d call them and tell them that it wasn’t fixed and they would always say that the rafter next job or they would have to come the next day, The third time they came out they asked if I had a ladder they asked to borrow tools and extension cord and replace the motor in my unit, when they said they were all done myself and one of the employees went inside and he realize it still wasn’t working and he told me he’ll be right back few minutes pass by I realize he wasn’t back yet I went outside and him and the owner left I called the owner and he said there is nothing more they can do when trying to talk to him and explain to him how professional courtesy works he started yelling and arguing on how him and one of his employees had other jobs to attend to. I called my insurance company and complained a number of times and when they asked if I wanted them to come out again I told him now to send a new contractor, Do not waste your time with this company.

First American assigned this company to fix my 3 year old AC. They slotted me for a 9a-2pm appointment, they arrived at 1pm. 3 Techs showed up in one truck, and they said I needed a part, which they don't have in their truck and so they have to pick up. I asked one of the guys and he said they were going to come back on the same day. They left at around 135pm, and 330pm no phone call. I called the Tech and he said they were not coming back on the same day because their shop is in Tulare and I live in Hanford. The next appointment was set for 1pm the next day, the Tech no longer accepts my calls, goes to voicemail and does not respond. I called the Dispatch and with alot of apologies but no show. Zero for respect of their customers' time! I lost work hours so I can meet with the Techs and would not give a respect or courtesy to speak to their customer? For those reading these reviews, if you don't mind waiting around when they show up any day of the week, while the temperature is rising...then go for it. Otherwise, don't waste your time. This is bad business tactics.

If I could give them “worst company in the world” rating I would. They came out 2 weeks ago for a repair - same as most others on here - dispatched by AHS. Very unprofessional, came by 3 time within 2 weeks with the wrong part once . They are completely unresponsive, let phones go to message service. Thankfully we had reach out to a different company and was finally able to get our A/C working the same day we called them . Please don’t waste your time with this company

Unethical business practices. We have a home warranty through AHS. On 01/11/18, AHS dispatched this unethical company to my home to work on both of my heating, a/c units. Alonzo was the tech that climbed up on the roof to diagnose the problem. He advised me the “boots” to the units needed to be replaced. ( which was incorrect ) He stated he’d have someone come out to measure them. We never heard from him again. My husband tried reaching him via phone to no avail. It wasn’t until I contacted AHS and spoke to Jacalyn, that I learned Alonzo had requested his fee for coming out to our home, then made a claim that we didn’t have a ladder on the roof to access the a/c units. Stating he was unable to complete the job. This is a complete falsehood. A flat out lie. Not only do we have safety ladders for each unit in place we also have the necessary work platforms in place as well. I informed AHS of Alonzo’s fabricated excuse to avoid performing the job. AHS then dispatched a reputable company to our home that properly diagnosed the problem and had it repaired within a day.

AHS set up an appointment to do a second opinion on my air conditioning unit as Air Technology was not able to determine the problem of my air conditioning unit. When AHS set up the appointment with Fire and Ice, I called the company to follow up and confirm appointment. I then speak with ALONZO, and right away he was rude with a very unpleasant customer service style. The next day after reviewing his company reviews, I called Alonzo confirm the appointment and to double check time of arrival. Alonzo was bother and told me that I was being rude because we had already set up the appointment. When I heard his reaction, I cancelled his appointment with him. I called AHS and through some talking to customer service and then management they were able to send someone else. Thank you for your comments and reviews, this is how we know what to expect from this unethical companies that are sent to our homes.

If I could give them “worst company in the world” rating I would. They came out last year for a repair - same as most others on here - dispatched by AHS. Very unprofessional, sent incorrect/missing information in to AHS which further delayed the process. They are completely unresponsive, let phones go to message service. Thankfully they were finally able to get it together and I had A/C two weeks later. In late July, two weeks of no A/C is like living in hell.

So AHS dispatched Alonso to perform a second opinion. The day before he was expected to perform his service he called AHS refusing to make the service call...his issue was that I had two insurance policies and there was no guarantee he’d get the installation contract.

The work that this company did for me was done incorrectly and I had to hire another company out of my own pocket. American Home Shield contracted these jokers. The technicians hired wired the fan motor BACKWARDS! They refused to take responsibility for their mistake and I had to call someone else. DO NOT waste your time with these fools, they are arrogant, disrespectful, and dimwitted.

TAF from Visalia Early AM rain on Tuesday, 1/9/18, caused us to have water leakage & duct separation problems with an on-the-roof A/C unit. Our home warranty company American Home Shield assigned this contractor & its owner Alonzo Lopez to handle the problem and then our nightmare began. Alonzo is rude; hangs up on you; can't remember anything, asking the same questions from one conversation to the next again & again, & it took many telephone calls just to get him to come out on the morning of Monday, 1/15/18. He then did nothing to reconnect our a/c ducts back together, making up two false pretexts to give to AHS for not doing the work, while apparently still getting a fee or credit for making the service call. The 1st false pretext he invented was the absurdity that someone had gone into the unlighted, unfloored area of our attic & possibly torn down the ducts. The next false pretext he invented was that the ducts could not just be re-taped back together, illustrating to his employee how a more extensive repair & rebuilding job was needed. Alonzo, pretexting that he needed to talk to AHS Authorizations before anything could be done, then left our job site, with rain forecast, the ducts separated & an open a/c duct out of which rain water had recently poured pointed down onto our kitchen ceiling. AHS then, while I was in the process of trying to resolve this matter over the telephone with an AHS claim rep, emailed me that our repair was complete & charged me $125 for the service call. Due to Alonzo's actions and the false pretexts given by him to AHS for not doing the needed repair work coupled with the procedures that AHS was now going to require and go through in order to straighten the whole matter out, our service call repair work was thrown into a limbo status and it became obvious to me that a prompt resolution with AHS could not be accomplished before the next forecast rain. Thus, in order to insure that our kitchen ceiling was protected from damage, I

Very crappy customer service! I don't like to complain about companies but my heater stopped working right before Christmas and they were scheduled tho right American home shield to set up a day/time to come look at my heater. They never came out and then I seen that they closed the work order and I was charged my $100 for the service through American home shield. I then went and rescheduled for them to come out since the service had not been done and they called but didn't leave a voicemail, luckily I called them back to find out it was them. I spoke to someone and they said they would send someone to look at my heater the following day and I made sure to tell them to come after 2pm since I would be at work until then. The next day (today) I waited until 430 and still hadn't heard anything from them so I called them and they stated that they had sent someone out but that I wasn't home so they left. I told them that I had been home since 130pm and asked them if my car was in the driveway when they arrived and they said no, meaning they must have came out way before the time I specifically stated. They didn't bother to call me or even notify me that they attempted to come. If I wouldn't have called and spoke to them I would have been waiting around the rest of the night for them to come out.

AHS my home warranty set my family up with this company which is privately owned. They came out to check my a/c, while my wife was home to answer. He didn't fix anything they bascially charge us for $70.00 of Freon he had from his tank. Not even sure if he checked it. Never bother to step inside our home to check our thermostat and attic. By far the WORST customer service my wife had experience. He probably made an assumption that thought he can fool my wife. Thinking she's naive and nice. He thought wrong she followed him, asked question and watch him like a hawk. Trying hard to convince my wife to stay indoors so he can pretend he was troubleshooting or perhaps working on our A.C. unit. By reading others reviews, we don't know why any home warranty would contract him to service their consumers. What he is doing, is just scamming hard working people and performing a half ass job! Wouldn't recommend their service on my worst enemy.

American Home Shield set me up with this company privately owned. Took 3 days to get a hold of him he came out 6days later to check my a/c. Did not fix it. Had additional charges for Freon. Not even sure if he checked it. Worst customer service and by the reviews don't know what hes doing just scamming people.

The worst company I have delt with. No people or customer service skills. Couldn't fix my heating issue, wouldn't come back when told it wasn't fixed, went without heat for six days, and lied to the warranty company I went through as to why they couldn't come back. Highly recommended you don't use these guys.

They were to work on my air conditioning at my rental house. My tenant asked a few questions about the work to be done. Fire and Ice walked off the job and did not return, nor have they refunded us our 1/2 down deposit.
