Never Again!!!!!
F+F bought Airtech and destroyed a nice little business. Rose in the office is still great and there’s a couple good techs still but the new owners have no interest in residential business. I had an a/c leaking in my basement and they came and said they fixed it but it started dumping much faster in my basement. Came back and said they needed to replace the unit. Sent someone to quote it. This was Thursday. He said I’d have a quote no later than Monday (in a heat wave). I called and emailed several times and he kept promising me the quote. 2 weeks later I found another contractor. 9 months later they still haven’t quoted it and they’re threatening collection for the job they never completed and still haven’t returned any of my emails or calls. Unreal. Don’t even think about using these guys. You’ll regret it.
We moved into the Cloctower building in Norwalk and found we had no heat once it got cold. Rose works in the office and got us set up and Bob was able to get to us and solve our problem really quickly. When we had a different issue Rose once again got Hector to help us and we have been good to go since then. Really nice people, capable and competent. And their prices are very fair. We hope not to have to call them too often, and at the same time are glad to know they have our back for both our heat and air conditioning needs.
Was having trouble with our central AC and called another company for a Solution. After waiting a week the person sent, spending maybe 15 minutes, couldn't find anything wrong and suggested I was setting the thermostat too low and over-taxing the unit. Problem continued. Called AirTech, they sent someone out within two days (in prime season), let me know fees up front, and sent someone who, without milking the job at all, took the time to figure out the problem.
The firm can't handle the volume, so the wait time for a service call is two weeks. Their rates are egregious, they are unionized, and they charge you for everything - travel time, calling around looking for parts, lunch break, etc. At $116/hour, that's some expensive travel. Don't believe in early verbal estimates they provide - it will take longer and cost more. Did I mention they also charged $8 for a two-dollar filter that they chose to change? In short, stay away if you can - you can always find a tech who can come out faster, and do the work for less.
