Witnessed driver of work van littering significantly on free way. Sad.
Incredible Service! The gentlemen at De Temple are the Best. Excellent professional service in a timely manner.
Great service
I talked to Jeremy to get an estimate to fix a leak in my crawl space. He was completely transparent about cost and pricing and helped me troubleshoot some issues and gave me some advice over the phone. Also, he was willing to get in touch with another plumber who previously provided me a quote to see what the best solution would be. Great, honest company!
We had water pouring behind our shower onto the wall. I called three other plumbers and they were booked out. When I called on a Friday they couldn’t come until Monday. So fine. I got off the phone and kept calling around. They called me back right away and said there was a cancellation and they could come right away. Yes! Richard showed up a bit later. Such a gentle human and so polite. He fixed it within 2 and a half hours. He was so great. The dispatch person Tracy was so so nice. Basically we are stoked!
Straight forward and professional service.
DeTemple showed up three days late. I had 3 simple repairs: install a shower head (which I had all ready to go), clear a bathroom sink drain, repair a leaking faucet on a water filter. Plumber called ahead to let me know he was coming but probably wouldn't have time to address my repairs. He did come. He installed the shower head. He did not come with proper tools to do the other repairs so he asked to borrow a coat hanger from me to work on my bathroom sink. using the coat hanger, he seemed to clear the drain.....but I still don't know if he scratched the existing plumbing pipes that are PVC. I had to call the filter company who directed me to a YouTube video for a simple repair to tighten the faucet. Plumber did not have a screw driver and asked to borrow one of mine. He fiddled with it for about 4 minutes, and then said he didn't know how to fix it; I should replace it and he would have to return to do it. I asked for a work order or a cost. No. He could not provide. I received a call later in the day to let me know they were charging me $330 for this visit. They could not provide me a work order or invoice (only a credit card receipt) because they were too busy. I would NEVER use or recommend De Temple again and will tell everyone about this ridiculous charge for shoddy work. Yes, I did reach out to them.....no response.
The boiler in our 8-plex broke down in January 2021. It took DeTemple until October, or so, to finally put in a new one. It worked well for a few months and then it has been one problem after another. Went, again, for a couple months with no heat. When they came out, the heat worked too well and held at a steady 80⁰. They came back out and it stopped working again in our unit but it's still hot in another. They have been out a few more times, still not fixed. This last time, they've stopped even trying to schedule a time to come out. I do not recommend DeTemple. I'm thankful that they're not being paid out of my pocket. Can't even imagine what the apartment owner is having to pay.
I maintain a tower in downtown Portland. I heard the residents talking about how good these guys are. I had no idea if they did commercial buildings.so I thought I would give them a shot. I had a problem with a whole floor getting nothing but hot water. So I called and was told a time that day. The tech showed up. Real nice guy name Wayne. We went in to the units. Checked them out. Then he went in to our boiler room. He fixed some things. And took care of the problem in a hour. Then I called them again for a leak. He found it. And it was hard to find one. A pin hole leak behind the Sheetrock in between floors. Rather than turning the water off to the whole building. Because of some frozen valves. The team check the blue prints and found a work around. By the way this was during the freeze. We couldn’t even get the garbage picked up. So I’m kinda a fan. And the residents we amazed. It’s so refreshing to get a contractor you can trust and know it’s going to be done right.
Asked DeTemople to install a bathroom faucet. The faucet was missing one part, and instead of getting the needed part they did a partial install that did not work and charged me over $700 to install it. I called to complain and they said they would have management get back to me, and they never called back. DeTemple is a rip off, not to be trusted and do shoddy work.
Sabrina was so helpful, professional, knowledgable, and efficient. Polite and considerate of our needs and kept us informed when she will be coming, calling to keep us informed.
Joe was a terrific help. After our sink installation went off-course because of a mistake I made, he came back the same day to get us set up. We really rely on that sink, so having it back in action so quickly was awesome. Great service!
Phenomenal service and positive attitude!
Having issues with my furnace and scheduled an appointment with Detemple who we have used for years. They called before my appointment and diagnosed and fixed over the phone. Saved me from having to pay for a service call. Wonderful company and could not more highly recommend.
I contracted with DeTemple for a bathroom remodel. I paid the contract price and then they continued to send me bills for work that was clearly within the scope of work included in the contract price. The plumber who completed most of the work was surly and complained constantly. I would not use this company again.
Quality service, reasonably priced, top shelf in every way. I've been a contractor for over 30 years. I know the difference.
Do yourself a favor and read the other 1 star reviews. I don't write 1 star reviews often. And I've taken a week to really consider whether I should but I wished I would have taken the other reviews to heart and hired someone else. I recently moved into a new place in Portland and had 2 simple tasks for a plumber. Connect a cold water line to my water filter and assemble 2 bidets to the toilets. My plumber in Seattle did these things in less than an hour and charged me $50. It was a completely different story with Detemple. Tom V took 4 hours and charged me $744! The water filter didn't take too long but Tom said the bidets didn't fit my toilets too well. One he got to work and the other he decided to go back to the shop and find a new toilet seat and it really doesn't fit like it should but he decided he'd force it and spend 3 hours on this job. Unfortunately, my building only allows residents to use 2 plumbing companies. The other had worse reviews so I've let them know my experience and have requested that residents be allowed to find another company with much better reviews.
I called for a quote on my annual Back Flow check and spoke with Tina who said they charge $139/hr with minimum 15 min billings, with no estimate of time required to complete the job, plus a $12.95 fee to rent a 'pressure gauge'. The other Back Flow providers I checked with charge between $40 to $60 for the service; no additional fees, no timed billings. If the DeTemple service were 1/2hr, their price is still 50% greater than the $40 service I just booked with All Seasons Backflow.
De Temple fixed our thermostat, and the next day fixed my neighbors plumbing issue. I highly recommend them. The communication and service were both great. We'll be using them again!
They are great
