August 2020 Whether it was divine intervention or just bad luck, our apartment was recently hit by lightning. No one was hurt, but our PTAC unit was not so fortunate. Luckily, we didn't have to sweat it out searching for an HVAC company. CoolWorks had already showed its stuff when they quickly and efficiently replaced our heater coil last year (see review below). Once again, they came through by helping us find the right unit, along with a new wireless thermostat—all promptly installed by their highly competent techs. The best part about CoolWorks is that they work with you, do what they promise and never make you feel abandoned once the invoice is paid. I wish every service organization would adopt CoolWorks's high standard of quality. So, NYC humidity, do your worst—we have CoolWorks watching our backs. November 2019 It was a long journey that took agonizing back-and-forths with two other HVAC companies, which offered incomplete information, shoddy, incomplete repairs and no follow-through once the invoice was paid. But I've finally struck gold. My heating coil had given up the ghost, was hissing angrily and leaking badly, and I needed quick service. A neighbor recommended Cool Works. Now I have a new coil quietly providing toasty heat just in time for the winter months. I especially like the almost instant responses to my e-mailed questions, and the timely, competent service and follow-up. I will be recommending Cool Works to my friends and neighbors, and feel assured that next time I need service or replacement of my A/C and heat, I no longer have to wander the HVAC wilderness in search of a solution.
Cool Works replaced a 20 year old residential PTAC with a new unit that is a perfect match for the existing wall opening and wiring. The whole process from my initial inquiry to the final installation was speedy and professional. It was a real pleasure doing business with Cool Works. Highly recommended!

I have a ten year old Sanyo split system unit that was making a racket. Most places I called just wanted to sell me a new unit. Mike worked with me finding parts for the unit, and sending his guys over (exactly on time) to do the repair. The unit is now running like new - and quiet!
Great people to work with. Very professional people. Once we called they showed up right away, gave estimate. We needed additional insurance for the building requirement that was also provided right away. I strongly recommend these people .

Chris and Eliseo performed the service on my heating system. They came on time which was greatly appreciated, and were very personable and professional. Their work was great, of high quality and impeccable, they also wore booties to protect my carpet. Chris explained the service performed, answered my questions and provided me useful information on best practices for routine maintenance. Overall, a great experience and value. I am very satisfied with the repair they did, and will use them again when my system needs a service or repair.
We are long term customers with Coolworks, and love how they are familiar with my condo complex, from getting insurance certificates to dealing with building management. This of course makes getting approval for my new system a lot easier. I like that they service our building’s lobby, and have a relationship with at least three other tenants that I know of. They always send an email reminder when they are arriving, and follow up with how pleased we were with their service, and ask if all of my problems were adequately addressed. This review is long overdue. Year after year they have provided great customer service.
I have used Cool Works for the last 5 years for my Wine store in Soho. Sorry it took so long to write a review! I have had a central air conditioner, damper, and refrigerator installed by them, and have been happy with their service from day one. Their techs are always polite, professional and clean up their mess when they are done. It has not gone unnoticed. They really are A Cut Above!

This company was very professional and very attentive in making sure my after-school learning center had the AC up and running. I would highly recommend them.
The workers found the issue with my unit right away and subsequently replaced the condenser's fan motor, cleaned the coils, and also charged a very fair repair price in comparison to the price I paid for a fan motor in a different unit that went bad and was replaced by another company. As my condenser is at least 10 years old, I was relieved that they didn't try to pressure me to replace it, so I felt like I was dealing with mechanics and not salespeople. I also run a service based business, so I have high expectations when it comes to courtesy and care and CoolWorks really met those expectations. I will definitely call them the next time our A/C is in need of service or replacement and would highly recommend them to anyone else.
I had a very positive experience with Cool Works. Mike was informative, and CW was the only one of three different companies to check my duct work and the air conditioning drain pipe throughly. They did a great job installing our new A/C system and I am happy to give them a great review.
