Their pricing is a rip off and they take advantage of Customers less knowledge on the system.
Chrome never gave up on my HVAC issue and it is now resolved at a smaller amount than I thought!
My rating is based on the following facts. I strongly felt that we were taken advantage of - as we were without heat for 2 days. 1. One of the furnaces lost a blower motor. The tech came out and figured out within 20 minutes that the blower motor needs to be replaced. It was a Lennox furnace and the part was in warranty. With my approval, the tech placed and order for the motor to be picked up the following day. 2. When I asked the tech a rough estimate - he mentioned a job like this would cost between $200 to $250. The tech disconnected the furnace and left, informing me that he would follow up the next day. 3. Later that afternoon, I was informed that the part was covered under warranty and it was free. However, the service charge will be $480 given the complexities. We had no choice and we assumed it would take a few hours to take down the furnace and replace it. I was given an option to take some yearly membership for some money to get a 10% discount, which did not make much sense at all. 4. The follow up appointments could have been coordinated and communicated better, but in the grand scheme of things, I called back a few times and got the tech to come down and replace the part. 5. It took the tech less than 24 minutes to get in and replace the motor. 24 minutes!!! 6. I called back and spoke to a supervisor and informed him that there might have been a misunderstanding on how I was charged for this job. The supervisor mentioned that they don't charge by the hour and everything was a flat rate, plus the tech had to pick up and pay for the warranty part upfront. I asked him if they would reimburse me for the part when Lennox pays - and the answer was NO, we keep it. I would have loved to order, pay and pick up the part - that option was never given to me. 7. Lastly, It took 2 weeks and a follow up to get a receipt. ** I do want to call out that the tech was great. He was polite, took good care of the home as he would his own. I really appreciated that aspect o
Josh was great! He was timely and professional. Made sure I understood my heating issue and explained the costs. I will definitely recommend to others and use this company in the future.
Great service! Professionalism at the best. 5 star all the way
it was very bad service three times the technician came for repair not able to diagnose the issue, instead they charged for every visit. Every time technician comes and says different reasons for AC not working. Eventually they made us pay around $500 for not fixing the AC. The fun part was the third time he came and gave us the estimate for $1440 to repair. These guys will rip you off. Never call and get into a trap. The customer service lady never know what she was talking about and very rude. and wasted half day for explaining fake reasons for charging the money. Be careful Never ever go to these guys.
Pushed for replacing my whole HVAC system instead of fixing a small issue. I ended up buying the part for $150 and fix it myself, something Chrome technician quoted me $800 for without any warranty Technician also wanted $300 for replacing a $30 part (didn’t need to be replaced) And $1200 for another part ($150 part on RepairClinic that was working fine) So it was either going to be $2300 repair or $3000 replacement. The sales guy was called to come in without me inviting him. Its all about inflating the cost not repairing your system.
First experience with them. Came out for a quote and was super impressed with knowledge, honesty and overall service!
Chrome saved the day! We had one AC unit go out in the midst of the hot Texas summer and they quoted me a fair price for replacement, and got the work done quickly. I was very happy I found them online and decided to give them a call. When our 2nd AC unit went out a month later, I did not hesitate to call Chrome again. And again, they did not disappoint - quoting me a fair price (compared to other companies) and they got the job done quickly. I am happy I found Chrome and their service staff for my AC needs and future needs! I highly recommend Chrome for your AC needs - coming from someone who will shop around for excellent service at a fair price.
Chrome came out to my house yesterday to work on clogged pipes with my AC. There was an issue that I noticed in one of my bathrooms after the men had left. I called and notified Chrome about the issue. Michael Crawford is the representative that worked with me, and he did a fantastic job resolving my issues. I really appreciated his customer service. He made sure to call and text me throughout this ordeal. We will continue to use Chrome, and I would recommend Chrome to any of my family, friends and neighbors.
Be careful of them. I wouldn't hire them for my next job. They completely screwed it up !!!
Nick was very professional, informative and nice
Jorge was great. Came out looked at everything and determined I didn't need a new air condition but just to replace the thermostat. He instructed me how to do it to save me even more money. They have earned my business for sure.
Jorge is the best!!!!
George and crew are great. Always let us know what is wrong, options for fixing. I highly recommend their services.
I would say previously I had a much better opinion of Chrome, which is why this is a 2 and not a 1 star. Edit: I got more irritated as I wrote this out, so changed it to one star. Chrome has replaced over the past two years three complete systems for me, to the tune of about $35k. The first two replacements were fairly smooth and non-eventful. There were a couple minor issues that popped up and were resolved expeditiously. This last system replacement however has been a complete irritation, and still remains to be resolved after almost two months. Basically, the wiring for the control unit appears to be incorrectly installed. I have Nest systems controlling all three, but with the last install, the Nest failed to control it. It simply would not shut off. So after one tech trip, they said the wiring was bad. So they checked it out and couldn't figure it out. Then, they came back again, and said the Nest was bad (which is BS). So they put that crappy one that comes with the installed unit. But - this unit (as the wiring seems to still be bad) clicks loudly every time it turns on and off, and shorts out and reboots itself. The clicks are akin to the annoyance of a low-battery smoke detector. And it is less than 10' from my bed. This unit also doesn't tell temps correctly - it must be turned 10-15 degrees cooler than what you actually want it. My bedroom you see, must be set at 62 or so degrees to really be like 75. Then, they claimed they would order a new Nest and install once it arrives. Yeah... nothing. I've tried to contact them a few times to follow up, and some company has called to check in on satisfaction a couple of times, claiming they will follow up on my behalf. The actual dispatcher called last week to set up a Thursday appointment... no one shows up. So long story short... I don't recommend them, no matter how much money you spend.
Quick and knowledgeable, recommended a new system and gave prices without being pushy for us to make a decision tonight. I’ll use them again.
Called to get more information about maintenance, hours and such. The woman was nice enough when she answered, but sighed so heavily into the phone when I told her why I was calling that it sounded like she was in a wind tunnel. After an annoyed pause she said they “were in a meeting and really swamped” and that “NO she did not have time to answer questions “. Everyone has off days, but this was plain rude! If this is how they handle potential clients, I’d hate to see how they manage actual clients... Poorly done Chrome Heating and Air Conditioning.
These technicians are not on professionals, but that are admirably courteous too. Thanks guys
Very knowledgeable and honest. Would definitely do business with them again.
