DO NOT USE CARTERS! They have came out multiple times to my 81 yr old inlaws house since September, never fixed the HVAC system which keeps freezing up and not heating. This week after the 4th visit (and over $300 paid) they told the tech that we would need to call someone else if it isn't resolved, he responds "then call someone else!" and walked out. We ended up having a local company that I use repair it today and they did a great job, the valves and screen were clogged and they never even checked this issue at all. Would never recommend this people and they need an attitude adjustment.
Been using Carter for 8 years and they have never let me down. Do yourself a favor - call them. Fantastic people to work with!
Terry fixed broken AC for Preserve #308, after 1 hour of troubleshooting the downstairs units for 208 and 308.!! Monday April 25, 2022 .Thanks for the persistent attitude of excellence!! Hallelujah
We were very pleased with the installation of our new heating and air conditioning package unit. It continues to work efficiently to keep us warm.
When we have had problems, they have been responsive and helpful. The technicians that have been to our house have been both professional and courteous. Great overall experience with Carter Heating and Air.
We have used other companies and by far in my opinion they were the best. They replaced my five ton unit and did an excellent job. The crew was nothing but professional and everyone we dealt with was the same. They have a life long customer in me.
Punctual and knowledgeable
No problems. Prompt polite and professional.
Fast reliable service!
Very professional Salesman and crew!
I've been happy over the last 18 months with the service provided by Carter, however a recent quote for a relatively minor repair was almost 2X the cost of a competitor ($700 vs $375). I asked why the high price, and they just said they use flat rate pricing. Seemed a bit unreasonable to me given the job requirements. Also, even though Carter uses the same local supplier as the competitor, they claimed the part would need 3-5 business days to order/pickup. The competitor was able to get the part the next day and install same day, from the same supplier (Partners). I'm loyal to a point, but had to walk away from Carter on this one.
These folks are complete pros at every level. Prompt service, great work, great price.
Super service since we moved to Ocoee a few years ago. Doug has always always explained things found in service and treated us with respect and courtesy
excellent customer service and quick response to any problems
The air went out on my parents home on Sunday. I called and Tommy came out Sunday afternoon and got it repaired and working and the service call was extremely reasonable. On Monday I came home from work and the air was not working at my home. I called and Tommy came out and replaced the fan motor. He left just before 10 pm. Again, the price was very reasonable especially considering it was an after hours call. I couldn’t be happier with the great service.
The crawlspace where our AC unit is located is very small and difficult to access. The first company we called could not access the unit, and they recommended Weston (one of their former employees) at Carter Heating & Air. I followed their recommendation, and Weston arrived shortly thereafter. He was already familiar with the location and the unit, and all problems were fully resolved to our satisfaction. The price was very reasonable given the amount of time Weston was forced to spend on the job (the unit was frozen upon his arrival), and I would definitely recommend Carter Heating & Air to anyone seeking competent, reliable, and cost-effective HVAC service.
Great! My house is cool again even on the hottest days!
I call them to give me "free estimate for new unit" I setup an appointment 5:30, when I get to my house technician already removed lid of my HVAC unit and did initial check without me being there, and having any permission for me. His decryption of my unit was that is old dirty and need to be replaced. Best part is when technician was leaving he ask if i have also security cameras on my backyard... well my answer was that I do have some cameras, so he said, I'm sorry but i took piss behind your house sir (!!!!) Couple days later I revived quote for new unit and concrete pad - probably old was also old and maybe dirty... i don't know. Later they call my if I want their service or not, my answer was negative so they send my invoice for $35 for service, which was never part of plan. Lady hang on me when I describe her this story, once or twice. Now they found out they still missing $35 from me so once again they bother me ;) My advice - stay away from this company, they are rude, and might use your backyard as bathroom, in my case was only urinating...
I called Carter Heating and Air in Chattanooga because I had icing on my coils. I decided to use them based solely on the fact that they had a flat diagnostic fee when other Co’s had trip charges and hourly fees to do a diagnostic. I told the tech I had already cleaned my coils and had done all the other troubleshooting related to icing. I remodel houses and rarely take someone else's word for anything. After the diagnostic he determined that freon was low and added freon. Problem solved. About 2 months later my children's grandmother had icing on her coils. She lives in a pretty modest neighborhood in E. Brainerd. I recommended she call Carter Heating and Air in Chattanooga . They came out to do a diagnostic. They concluded that she needed her coil removed and cleaned and that her filter needed to be replaced. They quoted $512 to clean the coil and up to $200 to address the filter. Coil cleaner is $20 and filters are $15. I thought this was outrageous and called Carter to cancel the service call and tell them what I thought of their exploitative pricing. I then called Stan's. Their tech came out to do a diagnostic and determined that the coils were just fine. The problem was a capacitor in the outside unit that needed to be replaced. They charged a total of $125. Problem solved. Carter would have charged $512 for the coil cleaning and the issue would still not be resolved so they would have eventually found out about the capacitor and gouged a middle class GRANDMOTHER even more on top of the filter. Apparently they have 2 pricing structures--for people like me who know what's up, and for people who don't which they think they can freely take advantage of, even though they can least afford it. This seems to go on a lot up here in Chattanooga and I don't think Carter should be able to get away with it. It is wrong, immoral, probably illegal, and most definitely unethical and dishonest. I hope this review saves someone's friend or family member from getting ripped off
Had coupon for AC service for $37.00 but their price for R22 Freon was $84.00 a pound which was way too much. Three other companies charged $30, $35, and $40 per lb for the R22 Freon. Carter over charges! Be aware.
