Capitol Contractors is now owned by Paul of Paul's Plumbing. Another Santa Fe plumber that goes by a first name as well put in a brand new water heater 15 months ago--months, not years--and it blew up last week. Called and their mailbox was full on a Saturday morning. What bums. Unreal. They even have a 4.9 rating on goog, which shows how these can be manipulated good or bad quite easily really. I called around and Paul was the most on top of the emergency weekend. Turns out the boiler too, which was 20+ years old, was showing signs of compromise and really nowadays you are crazy not to have a tankless combo to use less gas and save what's left of our burning world. The price was hard to swallow, sure, but this is a fifteen year investment, not fifteen months. Paul and his son showed up bright and early Monday morning and got to it like the 30-year plus veteran at the trade that he is. I spent a fair amount of time watching them work and they use efficient tools and supplies and know exactly what they are doing in installing, plumbing and setting up these amazing systems that take up well less than half the space of their ancient, inefficient counterparts. Paul answered all of my questions big and small, helped me with the mess of sheetrock that the busted water made, gave me advice, and they left the place as clean and cleaner than they found it. The office took care of the applications for rebates and I could stop the cold showers forty-eight hours after the disaster on Saturday morning---and feel a whole better about not gassing up New Mexico to keep forty gallons of water hot all day and night. To choose a good contractor in Santa Fe has become a major hassle in recent years. Paul learned the trade at a young age from his Dad and is now passing the torch to his sons. He loves his work and it showed in watching him install this modern miracle. You should absolutely include Paul's Plumbing / Capitol Plumbing in your bids and if it is a night or weekend or anyt
Capital contractors plumbing is a Rip Off ! Our furnace had a dirty thermocouple (simple repair) The tech capital contractors sent out said the furnace needed to be replaced :/ The tech capital sent out did not know the correct date of manufacture - He was looking at a wiring diagram date :/ The furnace DOM was 2008 not 1986 or whatever the tech said. The first thing the tech should have done (given the systems - "furnace starts to run, then shuts down" ) is to check the THERMOCOUPLE !!! We were Not Satisfied - paid capital $204.95 for showing up, (and doing nothing) After simply cleaning the THERMOCOUPLE the furnace works fine. AVOID THIS OUTFIT ! Capital contractors plumbing is a Rip Off.
My heating unit went out last week the day before Thanksgiving. I was so worried that I wouldn't have heat when my family came over for the holiday meal. I'm so grateful that Capitol Plumbing was able to fix the problem almost immediately. Within ten minute of my call to them a repairman was at my door. Thank you Capitol Plumbing for saving our Thanksgiving! Ana P., Santa Fe, NM.
Taking advantage of the elderly is not a good look… Be very careful with this co. My elderly mother was taken advantage of by them. I will elaborate as soon as my attorney clears the public statements I want to make. Beware! My attorney is in contact with the AG.
After a botched gas dryer install job by Big Box store installers led to a gas leak and my family evacuating the house where we waited outside at 5 in the morning for the gas utility, these guys saved me. I gave them a call and within the hour they had sent somebody over to properly install the dryer, make sure there were no leaks, and finished the job in 40 minutes. The plumber explained to me where the other installers had made mistakes, told me how he was going to fix it, and fixed it! Will definitely give them a call again! Super responsive and professional.
I am going to be very honest I have used several different plumbers in Santa Fe I have researched history and reviews I called CAPITOL plumbing after having two other plumbers come to my house with great reviews and five star ratings be careful what you believe and what you hear I am very thankful and very blessed to have Capitol plumbing come to my house not only treat me like a human being but I also was treated fair and honest I will recommend them I will use them again I chose to make this review and give a five star because they truly deserve it thank you capital plumbing
We have used Capital for several years and always found them to be quick to respond and professional in the service provided. Xavier is extremely personable and takes the time to explain everything he is doing. This service was to replace a transfer switch that was starting to fail and to bleed the in floor heat system, both of which were well done. We recommend you consider Capital for all your plumbing and related needs.
I called on a late Friday afternoon and from the answering service to the finished job, everything was above even my highest expectations. I was immediately called back by Xavier who gave was already on his way to our home near the Plaza. On arriving, he quickly determined the problem. Needing to get more parts (pressure reducing valve) on Saturday morning, he was back on the job first thing early Saturday, and we were "back in business". My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of Capital and even more so of Xavier. Polite, efficient and a true professional! Thanks to everyone at Capital - we will remain loyal customers.
Xavior responded to my emergency situation on A Sunday afternoon. He was very professional and knowledgeable and helped us understand the situation and walked us through all steps he was taking as he performed the work. He helped us understand the steps moving forward and to make an informed decision.
HIGHLY RECCOMEND Xavior and Humberto were true professionals. expedient, he had answers or refferal when needed.
I have absolutely terrible experience over our last request to prevent dripping from shower faucet.. We previously used Capitol plumbing service and always to our satisfaction, but not this time. Quite regular task turned out to be above those guys skills. True, they spent few hours, trying to figure out, how to fix the problem, but they never did. As a result, we were left with monstrous deformity of faucet, because no appropriate detail had been installed. In addition the faucet itself had been weakened to the point, it hardly hanging on a wall now. Charge over $ 400 was given to my husband to pay for services.. When he asked, why it done so shabby and faucet literally trembling on the wall, the answer sounded like there’s nothing wrong with new “design “ and at least it doesn’t drip any longer.. I was shocked by such incompetence, it seems like those masters knew hardly more about plumbing that I do. I do not recommend this service to anyone

Please allow this review to serve as a positive professional experience with Capital plumbing. The service was prompt and efficient and i would recommend their services for any problems associated with radiant heat.
The repairman, Xavier Martinez, came out promptly on a Saturday morning when we were dead in the water with no heat. He quickly fixed the ignition and we were back up and running. Nice, smart young man. He gave us some options for additional services....
I wouldn't call them again.
Communication with this company is the absolute worst I've experienced across any industry or profession. Capitol Plumbing uses an answering service and frequently takes a couple hours to respond to calls. The word profession is not really applicable with this company. Capitol Plumbing removed my old furnace and replaced it with a new unit two winters ago. They forgot the filter, and had to schedule a time to come back. I stated my intention to watch them install the filter so I'd know how best to access it through the unit. Their guy didn't arrive when promised and my calls were not returned. He eventually showed while I was out, and installed the filter while my wife was home with the kids. At that point, I was too aggravated to care, and assumed I'd figure it out when needed. I neglected to change the filter last winter. A surprise was waiting for me... When I went to replace my filter, I learned that while removing the old furnace, their employee ripped out the existing filter mount provision (Thing that holds your filter), and failed to replace it. Without supervision, their employee haphazardly shoved a filter (without frame) into the vent and, unsurprisingly, it was sucked back into the furnace unit when it came on - potentially jeopardizing the safety of my family and the life of the furnace I paid them to install. A word here... I understand with nothing supporting it, a heavily clogged filter can get sucked into the furnace unit - however this filter is VERY clean, like new clean. And the filter wasn't just "Not supported" it was literally shoved into a vent with NOTHING to hold it in place. I discovered this on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I called and requested to speak to the owner. I received a call after hours, it rang twice and hung up before I could answer. I called back, and left a message with their answering service. I called again Friday and left a message with their service to please have the owner contact me. I received a call from "Bil
Called Paul's and he did not have anybody available and he contacted Capitol and they were here in less than an hour I had a sewer line drain clog and the clean out only went to street main. Adriand hauled his heavy snake machine up on the roof and cleaned the clog through the vent line.
Capitol Plumbing had no respect for our time. They were poor communicators. In addition to their poor craftsmanship quality, they were highly disrespectful.
