James, the owner, left town and did not sell his business. I had continuous issues with the installation, not the manufacturer, Fujitsu. He was here multiple times and even lost his temper in a very scary way at least once. For his apology, he offered me an extra year on the warranty. Now I'm left with repair bills for labor upward of $1200 which should be covered with his warranty. I will be pursuing options for this shady and sub-par business.
We had gotten a check of our AC from another firm. They said not repairable, too old, need a new system, the cheapest option being $5600. Cali Air was second opinion. Friendly, professional, found an repairable leak, refilled the freon. For $800 we got a good as new AC system that should last another 10 years. I wouldn't call anyone else for AC.
More than helpful! Very thorough and explanatory. Was able to give me options to fit my financial needs. Unfortunately my warranty company had their own service man who i was very uncomfortable with but after calling Cali air again, James was still helpful and able to answer questions i had to set my mind at ease. Highly highly recommend. Keeping them in mind for ALL future needs.
My AC stopped blowing cool air. It was pretty late in the night so first I called on of the 24h services. The guy came and gave me a 1500$ quote to replace the control board. Next day I called our property manager and got the James number. James came the day after. He was very knowledgeable and honest and explained everything in details. He suspected the issue might be from the capacitor. Thankfully he had a spare capacitor in his stuff. He tried it and it worked! He charged very reasonably based on the time he spent and the capacitor he replaced. The total cost was less than one sixth of the original quote I got. I highly recommend James for any AC repair
I own/manage rentals in San Diego and decided to upgrade an older 2BR house. After complaining to a friend in the construction business about the HVAC estimates I had received, I was given the recommendation to call James Kepley at Cali Air. James is one of the most personable, friendly yet professional guys you will ever meet. His quote was very reasonable, and as we walked thru the project, he even volunteered to add on a few details that enhanced the job at no extra cost. One of the things that impressed me so much was the effort he made to share information about the technical aspects of the project, as well as discussing other options that were available that I had not considered....information that will also empower me when planning future improvements or upgrades to other properties. Needless to say, the job was completed as promised and my tenants and I are more than satisfied. I am so fortunate to have found Cali Air for all of my HVAC installations and/or repairs.
