Bernie's was horrible to work with, came by my house and offered no advice, said tankless water heaters are the worst and he doesn't recommend them, and said he wouldnt work on them. Literally offered no help and asked for 175$. Only took cash no other forms of payment. Didn't provide any invoice so I couldnt even get reimbursed from the warranty.
I called this place because I had a sticker on my water heater with his number on it. I was impressed that Glen was able to come out quickly and do the repair when we were getting close to the holiday. (It was December 23rd and I needed hot water before the long Christmas weekend) What I was surprised about was the cost of a new heater ($2500). I asked him if this was a fair price and similar to other reviews I read on here, he said prices of steel had skyrocketed and it was hard to get water heaters. He couldn't replace it with a 40 gallon and all he had were 50 gal. I didn't have time to research the cost of heaters so after discussing with my wife, I told him to proceed with the service. After the service was done he left the invoice and he didn't break down the service costs so I had no idea what services I paid for. I decided to go check the model number on the water heater and I was able to find the same one for $869 online. He didn't include a service charge on his invoice either, but I would have happily paid $150-200 an hour based on the circumstance we were in. In this case it took him a total of 2 hours from the time I called to the time the heater was installed and I got charged over $1600 for labor. I know the cost of doing business isn’t cheap and he does have a lot of experience, but I did feel taken advantage of. I called him on the phone and asked if he could make it right because I felt like I was overcharged, but was set on keeping his price and offered no remorse. Will be looking elsewhere for future plumbing needs.
This is the second time we have used Bernie's Plumbing and Heating Co. I was just as impressed the second time as I was the first. Glenn is very professional, honest and experienced. A friend referred the company to me. I too will refer them to anyone who needs plumbing or heating repair and service.
Called many other plumbers in the area when our fridge started to leak water. Bernie's plumbing was the first one to answer and walked me through the steps to fix the issue until he came out during the week that way we were charged a weekend rate. Overall great experience!
Glen did a great job about communicating with us some of the problems and fixing our water heater in less than 24 hours. The space that our water heater sits is small and can only hold a smaller heater (apparently the smaller versions are rare and are hard to find, yet Glen got the job done!!) and he found one that fit perfectly. He drove all the way to Salt Lake to get it for us. The install was super quick and easy and he took the old water heater away for us. Seriously like 30-45 minutes. Glen also was willing to help us on his way home from the office when we first called for help. My wife and I very much appreciated it since it was kind of last minute and not an ideal time of day (later in the evening). We were extremely happy with everything. Thank you Glen!

I work for a realtor - We had a client that needed some help with a rental property's heating. The weather turned cold quickly and the unit did not have heat. Scheduling someone to come out was difficult because 1) the heating unit was steam radiant heating using a boiler system which is not something everyone knows how to troubleshoot/repair 2) availability of most service providers was out a week or more. By the time I reached out to Bernie's Plumbing & Heating it was late in the day but Glen took my call himself while he was finishing up a job. He made himself available and came out early the next day. He was able to get the system working for our client and his tenant in a very timely manner. Speaking with Glen, I could tell he had been trained well through his experiences learning the trade from his father, but also from his educational experiences at BYU. Thank you, Glen, for helping us out with your skills and expertise and for doing it so quickly!
We have used Bernie’s (Glenn) for all of our plumbing and HVAC needs for over 10 years and will continue to do so. He is great! He has rescued us many times. He is very trustworthy and very responsive.
We have worked with Glenn for years and have always been extremely pleased with his help. Recently, our water heater was going out. We call at 8am on a Monday morning and the heater was replaced by 10:30. Amazing service!
Glen answered his own phone on a Friday afternoon at 4pm. I had been living with a leaking dishwasher for a few weeks and finally decided I would schedule a plumber, expecting to wait a few more weeks. Glen made time to come that evening and had the problem fixed in no time for a reasonable price. I would recommend Bernies Plumbing to anyone. I will use him for all of my plumbing needs from now on.
Great service. Personable. Showed up promptly. Fair price. During the pandemic lots of people have stopped caring about their jobs, but not these guys. Restored my faith in humanity just a bit.
I've used Glen multiple times. He's always honest, communicates very well, and gets the job done quickly. He is very affordable and does great work.
I highly recommend Bernie's Plumbing and Heating. Dare I say Glen is one of the most professional plumbers I've ever worked with? We've had him come out to repair a broken pipe, install a new toilet, and to fix general plumbing issues. Bernie's always arrive when they say they will and the repair is done right, the first time. Quality is worth it. We know we can trust Glen's work. Very satisfied customers over here!
We discovered a leak in our basement at 11 pm on a Saturday night. Glen answered our call and was over by 11:20, it was a huge relief to have someone show up that fast. He was efficient, professional, and was able to fix our leak no problem! We highly recommend Bernie’s.
Glen came to my house in Alpine and found the leaking pipe quickly. My plumbing is 56 years old and he was able to work with it. He quickly fixed the leak. The only leak Glen can't stop is the word leaking out that he is a good plumber.
Glen was able to make it out on the same day we called. He knows his business. Knew exactly what to do with our plumbing problem. Ask him about a tool he inherited from his dad and how much it's worth! (It's his secret super power)
I have had Bernie's Plumbing over to my house many times during the last 20 years. He has done about everything on the list for me! Glen is great, he backs up his work, and won't try to sell you the most expensive solution if that is not what you need.
We bought a home that required plumbing work in multiple areas. Glenn replaced our expansion tank, sink drains, and toilets. We cannot be more happy with his service, and he was also very flexible with our schedule. Glenn is a plumber we can recommend to anyone!
