When my heat went out, I called several companies and got only voicemail. At Baystate Comfort, James picked up. He spent time with me talking about my heating system. He eventually helped me figure out the problem over the phone - dead batteries in the thermostat! When I replace my current system with an energy-efficient heat pump, I will surely call Baystate Comfort.
These past few days have been very hot and my central air went down on me. After trying a couple of window air conditioners it just wasn't the same as the central. I called a couple of companies but none were as pleasant and concerned as James from Baystate heating and Cooling. He came out the next day found the problem in 10 minutes but didn't stop there. My system is a very old system (Lennox) but James made sure everything was in top condition before leaving. I'm so thankful for the great job he's done. I definitely will be using his service again.

I highly recommend James for your heating and cooling needs. I discovered my hot water heater went kaput on me early in the morning, called James and within hours was at my home diagnosing the problem. Early the next day he installed a new water heater for me and saved me a lot of inconvenience and worry. Aside from expert workmanship, he is a very nice, sincere person and i will definitely call on him again.
Jamie is the man! Okay so I bought a place in Springfield a few years ago in which just about everything needed to be replaced, thus it was no surprise when the furnace started to give me trouble. The first company that came out said it was the motherboard, which would be hundreds, and advised it was a bad idea to invest in a 25 yr old furnace (which does make sense) and provided a bid for replacement that seemed a tad high. At this point I googled for a second opinion, and thats when I met Jamie. Here is where I am now Jamie arrived, took a look at the unit, and diagnosed the problem almost immediately. It was a dirty sensor that kept shutting down the gas. Jamie cleaned the sensor and the unit worked perfect. He gave me sound advice to what the right replacement unit would be, when I'm ready to upgrade. At some point my loud old Amana 80 furnace will die, and when it does it'll be a Trane from Jamie and the team at Baystate Comfort.
Had the pleasure of finding BCHC doing an online search last summer. Of course our central AC went out on the hottest day of the summer. James showed up very shortly after we talked on the phone. He was able to diagnose the problem, run and get the part needed and have the AC back up and running in next to no time. Within a couple hours of the initial call we were all set. James honesty and patience in explaining what was needed was extremely appreciated. Doing business with him again this year for an AC tune up before the heat hits.
My furnace broke down last Saturday at 10 PM, Everyone else didn't return my call or couldn't make it out that night. Baystate comfort returned my phone call and sent a friendly service tech out within an hour, he explained exactly what was wrong with my furnace and repaired my burner with parts he had on the work van within an hour. The service was quick, and prices were fair for a service call at those hours. I will be calling them to check out my ac system in the summer and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality and honest hvac company. Thank you again !
I would recommend Baystate Comfort/James Lapointe to all my friends. He provided an excellent quote with several options and explained everything. We decided to have the Buderus GC-144 boiler and a hot water tank installed. James did an excellent job and it was completed in two days. Nothing was left behind...the place was left immaculate. We could not be happier with the work that was done.
I'm very pleased with Baystate Comfort. I have sold my home and needed to replace the drip pan under the unit. I called yesterday at around noon to see when they could do it. Jamie came out almost immediately, arriving shortly after 1pm. By 3pm the job was complete. The price was $100-$150 less than the 3 other companies I contacted. I couldn't be happier Thanks so much!
