This company is an American Home Shield contractor. AHS stated they were to come out within 24 hours...They came 168 hours (7days) later. I have/had 2 people with lung issues living in my home and they cannot stay in a home without AC (can't breathe). I had to have one go stay at another home and the other had to stay at a hotel. Bast showed up wanted to put 4 to 5 lbs of freon ($800. to $1,000 out of pocket expense, 100% markup ) in my AC with stop leak...hoping it would work. Instead of diagnosing the problem. Finally got them to diagnose after having to speak to the supervisor. Then the guy offered to sell me a new AC at a cost of $6,700 (only $120.00 a month for 6 yrs) when my AC is only 2 years old. To get rid of AHS.......

I called Bast last minute when my AC unit stopped working and the first heating/cooling company that was assigned to our home told me the earliest they could fit us in was Tuesday afternoon and that we were "out of their way." Not only did the tech, Sam, come early but he had the issue repaired in under 15 minutes and helped us diagnose an issue we had with our vent system. 10/10, would recommend. Money well spent, absolutely impressed with this company. Will bypass the warranty company next time and call Bast first. Thank you so much, Brian and Sam!

My home warranty chose Bast for an issue we were having with our AC unit. They called and scheduled with us ASAP - extremely helpful and very nice. Sam came out and checked out the issues we were having, cleaned and charged our AC and we got a new thermostat. It made a world's difference! I had put a service call in with my home warranty company and Bast was dispatched. Unfortunately, my issue was not going to be covered under the home warranty. They went over my options, answered my questions honestly, and I was able to make my decision without feeling any pressure. I ended up choosing to get a new air conditioning unit that was installed with in a week. The entire experience with Bast was flawless. Everyone I spoke to was very kind and knowledgeable. Maybe if they stop dealing with American home shield they won't look like hack contractors. Being paid below value to do furnace work and over charging customers to make up for their lost profits Edit: you should consider that maybe AHS shifted all the blame to you. Said that we are only eligible for a small cash pay out because "basts technician comes up with the price you are eligible for not us". Trust me. You're only getting the review. I'm already in contact with the BBB for AHS

Bast is not a reputable company. The technician was at my house for 5 minutes and said I needed a new air conditioning system. He didn’t inspect any part of my unit expect look at it. He tested nothing! He said he just knows that my air conditioner is shot. Then he connected a hose to the coil on the compressor so I went inside. He came and got me 5 minutes later and told there was no Freon at all in my unit; it must have a leak. He tried to sell me a new unit for $5000. My system is old and I know it is, but I am convinced that the technician dumped the Freon in my air conditioner. It was working slightly before he touched it, then afterwards, no cool air at all. Three days later we had a reputable company check our air conditioner and put nitrogen in to test for any leaks. He came back to next day and we lost no nitrogen at all. He charged it and it’s working great. Bast is not a reputable company.

BAST was assigned as the contractor through American Home Shield on April 26. The technician was out on May 2 at which time it was determined that the AC system in our home (Carrier Infinity) is not one they are certified to work on, and I was told that they will reach out to the AHS to let them know, but also advised me to call AHS to get to them from both sides. I called that day and was told that the technician has not sent over a diagnosis so they cannot proceed with anything until that happens, and that I should give it a few more days. I've since been in touch with AHS several times and told that BAST has not sent over the diagnosis despite multiple phone calls and apparently emails from AHS. I've also reached out to BAST and left messages without any responses, and I'm stuck because AHS won't move forward with anything since the request was apparently completed out by BAST without any notes or diagnosis on May 2. It's been going on 3 weeks and BAST has yet to call anyone back.
