I don't ever leave negative reviews... ever.. I called a couple of weeks ago due to no heat in my living room. This has been going on for some time, and was not an emergency. Barlow Heating came a couple days later (when they said they would). They arrive at 12pm assessed the my boiler, wiring and identified the issue. A faulty Taco Zone head (a 99$ part and no plumbing required). Now I understand a plumbers right to mark up part prices due to guaranteeing service and stocking parts. So even if it was a $200 part I wouldn't think anything of it. That being said the job was completed at exactly 1 o'clock. (1 hour total) . I received my bill (without a cost breakdown) for $891.00. This is outrageous price gauging. So even if that part charge was $200, it was nearly $700 for an hour of work???? insane. As the son of an electrician and a freelance worker who charges a 100$ hour for my services I know what its like to provide a fair service for the work required... this was not it.. Unless you like being taken advantage of avoid using Barlow Heating.
Just recently-July 2022-sold my house in Warwick and had a bill I should have been aware to pay off. I just called and apologized for not paying it. The young lady I talked to, and have over the years has always been awesome-give her a raise Gerry!! Gerry has always been there over the 25+ years I've done business with him. Some have called him ole fashion on this review page- I call him trustworthy and a man of his word along with outstanding service. Thank you for all the years of service and putting up with our boiler (before it was replaced) that looked like something out of a steam ship from the early 1950's!! Gerry kept it going for a long time and he was always reasonable with his pricing. Can't say thank you enough sir!! Happy Holidays-Peter-and thanks for always being there for me and our tenants over the years.

I called so many other a/c businesses. Being summer and getting hot I knew it might be awhile before I get my a/c working. When I called this company they had a tech out within the hour. Everyone else was next week or later. The two guys that showed up were honest and sincere about my situation with an old air conditioning unit. I got a quote for a replacement pretty cheap and had a/c restored in less than two hours! I am totally satisfied and thrilled that the job got done so quick and affordable.
Do not call for service on a mini-split system. Technician did not seem at all prepared to service the unit. First reaction to seeing just the make and model was that he would not be able to service without technical support from others and that was before he even asked what the issue was. When he was evaluating the system, I was able to diagnose the code (and issue - low refrigerant) using Google before he could. After three hours I was told he could not test for the leak, which is what I originally told the office it was, and could not provide any service. $350 later I still have a broken system.

I had Barlow out today to replace the oil line that brings oil from my tank to the boiler in addition to updating a few misc. parts. The technician, Tony, was one of the best servicemen I've had out to my home for any project. He was professional and kind, easy to talk to, and took the time to explain everything to me without preaching or trying to sell unnecessary work. The basement is spotless as if no one worked down there. Not only will I use them for all future maintenance, but will be sure to refer Barlow Heating to anyone I can.
Amazing company - very very responsive and fair pricing. Jerry came out on New Years Day in a flash to help get our boiler back up and running. The service department is very kind and have excellent customer service. I signed a contract with them right after my first service call. I recommend asking about service contracts right away to ensure you get best pricing from the start. Great company - highly recommended. - Steve
Excellent Service they responded to my call and resolved issue, Price was fair. I am having them install a new air conditioner system in my house the price was great and worked with m in getting re-bates from National Grid. Highly recommended.
I called Barlow Heating LLC p.o Box 6113 Warwick R.I 02887 to fix central air in our house a month ago spent 286.00 to fix it ..ok not bad but came back from vacation and the central air isn't working so they come back they charged me 198.00 to tell me sorry it's not fixable! so 268.00 a month ago fixed the problem and 4 weeks later 198.00 later oops sorry it's not fixable!! so I spent 484 dollars on central air that's not working! so Don't go to@BarlowHeating,in Warwick R.I!02887

I neede a new heating company..called Barlow they were very nice and set up appt. To have my boiler serviced.Mr Barlow came out on time spent almost 3 hrs. Cleaning and servicing my boiler.. We then discussed a need for a new boiler, set the appt. They came on time removed old boiler and spent day installing new one. Great service pleasant office person, so glad I called they are great.

Jerry from Barlow heating is one of the most knowledgeable and reliable people in the buisness. His years of oil experience are very apparent while he is on site. Barlow has been my go to guy for a few years.
After having used Barlow Heating and Air Conditioning service for over 15 years for annual heating service contracts, but not needing them except for cleaning, I called them on a non emergency basis for Central Air system not cooling efficiently. The owner came out and checked the condenser which was ok,and air temp from outlets.(1 hour). He said he'd come back next day at 7:30 with younger helper to check air handler, located next to entrance in attic. ( You have to move on hands and knees because of rafters). They arrived at 8:00 went into attic found a separated return duct next to air handler,(needed to be reconnected and retaped ) and filthy evaporated coil. Owner went to store( 40 minutes) to buy coil cleaner, (which he should have had in his and helpers truck) and helper took a break waiting for him. Total job time 5 hours: 1 hour 1 man checking unit previous day; 2 hours two men next day includes going to store for cleaner solution, charge was over $1000.00 (Does not include 5 %retired military discount), and they did not check other ducts! This should have been a 1 qualified technician job! Now I have to hire someone else to check the ducts! My mistake, after trusting them for 15 years, I should have gotten a written estimate before having them do the job. Will never use again! AC contractors I've contacted since then have given me estimates 1/3 of what I was charged, and they all carried coil cleaner !
Barlow Heating is a very bad company if you want customer service and/or results I called on a Monday and had an appointment set up for Tuesday between 12-3 At 3:00 I called to see why no one had shown up,. They seemed not to care that I wasted my day sitting home. They didn't care my AC needs a repair. No Call, No Show,,,, No one should give them their business
