John from Apex recently tuned up my AC for the summer season - very pleased with the results. It was obvious that John is very well qualified. Also appreciate the fact that John was able to make a service call the same day - fast response time is very important with the current heat wave.
John was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He checked out our AC & identified the problem quickly. Highly recommend.
John is THE MAN! He's extremely reliable and very efficient. We would experience issues in the middle of the night, shoot him a message, and wake up to a phone call notifying us that he can be over within 30min. We've used John 3x over the course of 7 years, and he's been prompt, understanding, and helpful each time. Have also recommended him to friends who have all been happy with his service. Thanks, John!
Our technician, John, was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. He repaired my air conditioning unit efficiently and will careful attention to detail. Last thing you want is for your air conditioning to go out right before summer. Since my unit was so old I feared the worst, but John had a fix that was both cost effective and a long term solution for our home.

I had used them to inspect a heat exchange crack.. I was told the cost to come and. check is 90$ but was shocked by the bill of 380$ that was charged to me after finding non issues.. no repairs were done just the inspection.. even the repair would have not have cost that amount.. make sure you are clear on the charges that may be charged to you before calling them
Extremely poor and unprofessional service.
Called Apex because our Downstairs A/C wasn't cooling. John T. took the call and scheduled the visit. He showed up and was able to diagnosis/fix the problem in no time. He was very professional, friendly and courteous. John also provided some future maintenance options in the fall which we'll definitely use Apex for in the future. Highly recommended!

My technician John was extremely nice and talented. He made proposals on how to increase my AC productivity even just in a day to day basis and even made recommendations about future changes to our unit that might have to be made. Dedicated as well. Certainly using them again!!
John from APEX was great. I’ve used his services twice now and he’s super timely, efficient and communicative (albeit straight to the point). It’s high summer and he was able to squeeze me in same day. AC issue: My ac was having a mind of its own. I came into the house and it was 86 degrees. The thermostat was set at 78 and the ‘cool on’ indicator was visible, but the ac nor the fan would come on. AC would come on randomly and only about 10 minutes at a time, not enough to cool anything down. Turns out, the drainage valve was clogged, triggering the cutoff of the unit in case of flooding. It would come on only after water fell to a certain level. He declogged drain and also helped me set up my thermostat to be more efficient. I live in a 2 story and thermostat is upstairs on the landing where it’s sweltering. He’s been the only HVAC person to ever tell me to keep the fan in the ON position to keep air circulating so upstairs stays as cool as down. He assured me the ac would kick in and out as needed, and that the cost of running the fan perpetually was more beneficial than playing with the degree settings, both money wise and in terms of duress to ac unit. Previous to this, I’d kept the daytime temp at 84 just so the ac wouldn’t get overworked during the day, and had it scheduled for 78 degrees for when I came home from work in the evening. Downstairs felt perfect but upstairs was an oven usually. Looking forward for that not being the case moving forward. Thanks John!
Apex is terrific! John, from Apex Heating & A/C saved my life twice. We live in NY and also have a house in Austin. We arrived in Austin recently and found the A/C dead. I had myself, my girlfriend, my daughter, my young granddaughter, etc. arrive at midnight with the outdoor temp of almost 90 degrees and an indoor temp. close to that. John arrived at 3 a.m. and fixed the A/C system quickly and inexpensively. A week later I decided to replace a perfectly good thermostat with a WiFi-enabled thermostat, so I could check the system from NY. Not the best plan for the middle of August in Austin. I managed to screw up the installation and John arrived in less than an hour, and saved the day again. He didn't charge enough, so I gave him a generous tip. He is the best!
They wanted me to pay for a quote. This type of business practice is like contractors who want you to pay before the job is done. Bad idea! They take your money and run.
Here in the ATX. Tran came out and turned a nightmare experience of mid-summer in Austin into an actually pleasant experience. Called him based on reviews and was glad I did.
We own a rental house in Austin and have used Apex Heating and Air Conditioning Several times. Each time, they came out quickly, kept me updates on the repairs and service needed, and the cost was very fair. Yesterday, we had an issue, I called Apex at 11:40 AM and the problem was resolved by 2 pm, including time to go get parts. It's nice to know we have someone we can trust with the AC, especially since we don't live there.
Apex was great we would highly recommend using this company! John came out later in the afternoon fitting us into his schedule because our a/c was out, he helped troubleshoot and service our unit. He went above and beyond to make sure we knew the ins and outs of what was wrong with our a/c and how we could better improve the efficiency of our unit. We would recommend apex to our friends and family and for sure use them in the future! Thank you John!
AC went out and John came out extremely quickly that evening. Got the AC up and running fast, which my 41 week pregnant wife was very thankful for. Would recommend and will call again if we have any issues.
John is in a word is honest. Their are a lot of service personnel out there who are not and only want to make a buck and don't care how they go about doing it. Now I know a capacitor from a compressor and John always knows what the problem is and can show me and explain it to me. So do yourself a favor and call Apex when you need something fixed.
