Got ahold of this company the day before polar vortex when our furnace went out after several other companies would not return my call. They came out in less than an hour, had all the necessary parts, and charged us less than the company we had used in the past. They wore shoe covers and explained everything so that I understood exactly what went wrong and what the repair would be. We would DEFINITELY use them again in the future. Great Job!
AC wasn't working, Went to their website and made an appointmeny. Also follow their trouble shooting steps. Tim texted me back about the appointment but then he also gave me ideas of things to check. I double checked everything and after he explained about a fuse I found a wire that needed a new wire cap. I replaced that and it' sall good. Thanks to Tim I didn't have to get a service call and my AC is working. I've used them in the past for my furnance also and they are wonderful. Thanks.
Honest reasonable and very professional...always use them for hvac
Tim, our technician, and American Heating and A/C was prompt, efficient and most importantly HONEST. They saved us $3k after being lied to by Lifeline Plumbing, Heating and A/C about the age of our furnace and the diagnosis of the actual problem with it. There are predatory and dishonest companies out there, but THESE ARE THE GOOD GUYS. We will be calling them from now on. Thanks, Tim!
Been working with American Family for over 5+ years. Excellent company to keep on file for any and all HVAC work needed. Just finished putting a new Furnace with their team a day ago, and can't say enough on the excellent work done and the professionalism throughout the install. Thumbs up.
Tim from American heating took my call on a Saturday evening.... honest and fast service. Made arrangements to get the part I needed right away. Spencer the tech came out installed the needed circuit board and I was up and running quite fast. very pleasant knowledge and service like this is hard to find these days. Thank you guys ... my hero’s on a very Frigid cold winter day. Now you will be the only ones I call for this type of service.
We have a membership with American Family Heating and Cooling which helps cover maintenance costs for our furnace and ac unit. They are always prompt, honest and helpful. These guys are the best.
So my heater stopped working early this morning and I made a call to these guys. Tim answered my call and I told him the issue I was having, before he came out to see what was wrong he asked me to diagnose the problem over the phone. He asked for a picture to see the furnace and within minutes he had solved my problem! Thanks again!!
I highly recommend American Family Heating & Air. They have given excellent service to our home for several years without any issues. Tim is very personable and knowledgeable and can be trusted to do the job correctly the first time. If an issue should arise, I am 100% confident it would be handled immediately and respectfully. I am grateful for this company and highly recommend their services.
Fantastic company. Don't look anywhere else. They replaced our very old AC and Heater with quality products. Owner Tim is very professional and responsive. They know what they are doing ...so trust them.

I initially had American Family install my furnace and AC unit when my family and I moved in 10 years ago. I have them inspect and do service every season on both units because of their professionalism and quick response if we needed it. I am very pleased with their service that is why I will never have anyone else work on our home.
I've known Tim Greene and his staff for over 10 years and have entrusted them with all of our HVAC needs. Over the years, they've installed a new air conditioner as well as a new furnace. Their professionalism and business acumen are impeccable. I've found their prices to be extremely fair . What impresses me most about American Family is their integrity and sense of urgency to deliver top quality customer service. If they come across a problem with the equipment, they'll stick to it until its resolved. No excuses... just good old fashion "customer service" at its very best. I give American Family two thumbs up and 5 stars!
I paid them $ 429.00 to replace my gas valve after that I have a small gas leak almost blown up my house. They charge me money for the gas leak , I look at my old invoice it said 2 year warranty on parts and labor. They don't honor there workmanship warranty! P.S gas leak happen next to the gas valve on the same gas line!
Bad service and overcharge me too. I paid 418.00 invoice number 31314. 6 months 2 weeks later small gas leak and charge me again. What happen 2 years parts and labor. Now the company saying it's not there responsibility. Nice
Tim is great. I have been using them for over 10 years. He's always available when I need him. His services are always reliable and he's very trustworthy. I would recommend him to anyone looking for quality services.
So this should really be a two part review but I'm late to the game. We had our air ducts cleaned out over the winter in January, which in turn made our ancient furnace work too hard which cause roll over and an exciting visit from the fire department one morning at 3am following a smoke alarm. Needless to say it was recommended we have the furnace serviced. We called American Family due to their ability to come immediately and recommendations from the web. Nick came out at that time and looked at the furnace and gave a great quote and time frame for replacement. Within a day or two the new furnace was put in by Tim with the understanding that the new AC unit would be placed in April when the weather warmed up. In April the new unit was installed as promised and we had no issues up to then and our utility bills are significantly less now that the newer unit is in. However, over the holiday weekend, it was discovered that we had water running through the wall into our living room (our HVAC is in a closet in our attached garage on the other side of the stairs). It was discovered that the AC wasn't draining out and instead draining in the house. We called Am Fam that night, and Tim called me personally first thing in the morning on Memorial Day Monday. He then expedited sending out his friends from ServDry---amazing btw see review for them as well. Who were there within the hour drying us out. Tim then proceeded to have me let him know when we were home from our plans that day and came out himself at 8 pm that night to determine what the issue was. Apparently it was a random hum-dinger where the drain was never installed on accident so we were getting water. He placed the drain and informed us of compensation that would be forthcoming for our time and inconvenience with the whole ordeal. We are now all dried out from the ServDry and everything is working great. They are a quality company who stands by their service. Recommend them to anyone!
Salesman was unprofessional and very pushy
I thought I had written this review already but apparently not. I called these folks the first time when my AC was running low on Freon (yes, Freon :( ) . The cost was high/ton because of recent decrease in production. We worked on a price I was hoping that was that. Tim did warn me that this might not be the last time because there might be a leak. As it happened, a month later the unit needed Freon. Tim came himself, added Freon but did not charge me even though he had said Freon top-offs were not free even with the member agreement plan (he said this before I signed up). He subsequently had to come one more time to add a sealant. That was included too. I had, at that time, wanted to update my thermostat and it required a new line that I did not have. I had bought one of "add-a-wire" diodes. I was showing it to him and started asking questions. He asked " do you mind if I install it? Might be faster" . I was like "sure!". Point is, he is a pretty genuine person and does take care of the customer real well. I have since added my rental property into their plan as well and cancelled one from another provider.
